Please God, let us never play a neutral site regular season game or wear these hideous jerseys again (ever?). Amen.
Oh, and WIN THE GAME

Of course, I'd rather we not go with maize jerseys in the first place...

No.
It's just tradition. You know this.
No one says a damn thing, in fact many people prefer maize in other sports.
I know the maize is my favorite basketball uniform (just not the maize on maize Adidas tried to pull off). And no tire tracks.

We've worn Maize jerseys before.
1928 against Navy. Also a neutral site game.
MVictors has a piece on it.

Because both schools were wearing nearly identical uniforms... That post is misleading at best. Two white jerseys would have ellicited the same response.

Honestly, I think a good deal of the Michigan fanbase is just extremely dedicated to being against change. I'm sure some of them truly dislike the idea but the level of rage seems really disproportionate for something as simple as a jersey that will probably be worn once.

If RichRod had done it everyone on this board would have called for him to be fired.

As a sport college football really sells the 'tradition' concept. The NFL does not do this. NBA does not do this. Tennis does not do this.
'Tradition' is put forth as one of the things that supposedly makes college football worth following. You know. Stuff like M v. OSU is traditionally the last game of the year. Little Brown Jug. Traditional rivalries. Same pre-game marching band M formation marhing and playing 'The Victors' thing since...forever. On and on...
Most of the Blue Blood CFB programs really also market the tradition angle heavily. That is why the Blue Bloods like Michigan, Alabama, USC, Texas, etc. tend not to mess with their uniforms as much as Oregon, West Virginia, or Maryland.
So changing the M uniform does not get judged merely on a 'does it look cool or not' standard. It is something that messes with the core branding that revolves around tradition. Any change really has to be worth it becasue it is not just a change, but instead something that erodes the tradition element, which is really central to what college football is supposed to be about.
A lot of the traditions have been eroded somewhat by conference realignment/expansion, the BCS and now the playoff, and (of course) the alternative uniform phenonemon.
Thing is that if the 'tradition' angle of college football is eroded too much, then there is really no reason to watch it. It is one of the main things that makes it different from NFL football. Once CFB becomes just a souless lower grade version of the NFL, then why care about it? Do you care about minor league baseball? Might as weel just watch the higher level of play in the NFL (and MLB).
So people who are against too many silly alt uniformz are not really judging it on the 'hey, they look cool, so why not?' standard. They see it as eroding one of the central things that makes CFB different and special. And that especially holds for Michigan, B/C the whole concept of Michigan football is so wrapped up in timeless traditions.
So it is not a 'change is bad' reaction. It is a 'these unrooted changes are eroding the core idea and value' reaction.
Get it?

So nomally they would wear the color and the "visitor" (Michigan) would have to be white.
Anyway, we will see in 6 days, or probably less as more info leaks out.

Sam Webb mentioned color rush months ago in a post on Scout.
As soon as I saw Florida's all-blue, I knew this was it. Then I checked to see if these were the jerseys and they were.
Wasn't just throwing things at the wall here, guys.
