OT: Best Show You Are Currently Watching Not Named Game Of Throne's

Submitted by CarlosSpicyweiner21 on
Always looking for a good show to watch. Currently I am watching Friends From College on Netflix and just watched a few episodes of Wet, Hot, American Summer: Ten Years Later. Next up is Ozark. What are you currently watching that you think others should start up next?

Check out Stranger Things for 80's nostalgia.

Mr. Robot season 2 does slow down a lot, but the final 2 episodes make it worth it.

I am also watching GLOW - gorgeous women of wrestling. No opinion yet. Except that Alison Brie has a very rocking body. Something I wouldn't have imagined watching Community.

Just finished binge watching The Leftovers. Phenomenal show. Mr. Robot Westworld House of Cards - although it jumped the shark this past season, which was horrible overall. If anyone has suggestions based on the shows I've mentioned, please post. I think I need to check out Twin Peaks. I keep hearing it mentioned, especially by people who tend to like other shows I like. I wonder if there's a website out there that recommends you shows based one the ones you've watched and liked. That would be cool. Someone should make something like that. Also want to check out stranger things and black mirror.

It's become total fan ficiton and not even good fan fiction.

Ozark was great! The performances are top notch.

Check out Bloodline, I just finished S:1 and while it was a little slow developing while they build the family dynamic it's totally worth it. S:2 has me on the edge of my seat!

Rick and Morty is my s***! So glad it's back after 2 years!

I used to watch The Strain, I always thought it was entertaining if you don't take it too seriously.

I scrolled through pretty much every comment and no one has mentioned The Americans and it's been my favorite show for 4 years running.

Others have mentioned: Black Mirror, Legion, Orphan Black, Sherlock

We're all on board with Orphan Black here and have been since the very first episode actually. It is so sad that next week is the last episode, but if you've not watched it, I highly recommend it.

My wife and I also are big into Dark Matter on SyFy. Still trying to catch up on the current season as I type.

The Sinner on USA is a limited run with the pilot running last week. Pretty good premiere. My wife and I were both hooked so we'll see where it goes. Also, Amazon Prime Video app has the Sopranos, which is my #1 drama of all time, streaming so bingers go and enjoy!

The Americans (binging)
Sopranos (binging)
Vikings (trailing off the binge)

....maybe I should purge sometime?

Each of these shows are well written and produced. Highly recommend each.

Love Big Bang Theory and Murdoch Mysteries.  Not everyone is a fan of Big Bang Theory, but we find it hilarious.  Murdoch Mysteries is terrific if you like mysteries; it takes place in Toronto around 1900 but has extremely interesting characters.

Thankfully, I'm not the first person in this thread to mention The Leftovers, but it's the best TV at least since Mad Men ended, and possibly since Season 3 of The Wire.
