Mallory to Miami
Well, crap.
wut?
However,Richt over HARBAUGH?
We never really lost Brevin jordan. He was always going to Miami
Mallory everyone assumed was coming to Michigan because of the legacy
In reality we'll be getting Mustapha Muhammad who could be argued to be the best TE in the nation anyways
Eminem is number #1 on my TE wish list, but it is way to early to count him in the class.
"Beyond excited to join the best football family in the nation. With that being said, I am committing to the University of Miami"
If I didnt know any better I'd think he's taking a potshot at Michigan
I think a past commenter was right. He probably rebelled a little bit. Everyone assumed he was going to Michigan because of his family but he wanted to make his own path
Mustafa Muhammad as the crown jewel of our TE haul will be amazing so whatever
Sucks for us, but good luck to him. Maybe he wants to blaze his own trail rather than plodding through daddy's footsteps? I won't cast judgement, but I will hope he changes his mind.
he can have good luck or not; do not give a sh(t
....actually, sucks for him as he will not get the chance to be coached by Harbaugh and crew, nor go to South Africa, Japan.....
I'm starting to get a little concerned here. M, which runs a tight end-feature offense, has missed out on multiple top TE prospects to schools that don't feature the TE as much, and the one it did get left after 1 season. Am I worrying too much?
I think you are worrying a bit too much, because TE is not a position that requires elite talent to find success. Stanford had quality TE play without elite talent, and good tight ends come out of nowhere all the time. Of the 22 tight ends projected to possibly get drafted by CBS Sports, here are the only 4-stars or higher:
O.J. Howard (Alabama)
Jake Butt (Michigan)
Bucky Hodges (Virginia Tech, who was a 4-star QB)
Jason Croom (Tennessee, who was a 4-star WR)
Ricky Seals-Jones (Texas A&M, who was a 4-star WR)
That means 17 of the draft-worthy tight ends were 3-stars or lower, and a bunch of them came from other positions. Michigan is fully capable of finding a high-quality player at TE from somewhere other than the upper tier of the recruiting rankings.
I screenshotted this and tweeted it at Will Mallory for you.
hard to out-recruit topless beaches and tropical weather. At least with climate change, miami will be under water soon.
There are topless beaches in Michigan. You just have to look in the right places.
Like at the dudes.
I'm going to need some photographic proof on your website,
My website isn't for 4-year-olds. There are no pictures. Only polysyllabic words and informational materials for Mensa.

Good. I wasn't looking forward to four years of "Will Mallory or won't he?" jokes.
I'd like to see the recruiting trend improve at Miami and decrease at Georgia as long as Mark Richt is at Miami coaching. I hate Kirby Smart for some reason and I hate Georgia, so good for Mark/Miami.
Go Blue!
For some reason? His name is Kirby. That's all you need to know.
Nauta chance.
I would have bet a Mallory would be going to Michigan. A little surprised but not a big deal. We will have a top TE in the mix every year Harbaugh wants one. And a top 10 class as well.
GO BLUE!!
and it would not surprise me a bit if he picked up on the vibes that he would be able to compete, like all M players, however he was probably treated as the best TE in the country by Richt and staff and the same was probably not true here. All the players are, of course, treated with respect and those we want badly do not leave without that message. I think though he felt Miami thought he was a better prospect than did the M staff and it is difficult -i am guessing - to enroll 1400 miles from home where you suspect they have another TE they regard as a bit better than to stay home where they left no doubt you were no. 1 at that position for their program.
Welp.
That's that then.

Uh - you are proving his point.

1. Harbough runs a meritocracy and does not care about stars or legacy connections, he felt Mallory was not good enough to help the team.
2. With the class size so small this year Harbough would only take 2 TE and they feel really good about Muhammad and Ruckert.
3. The legacy connection actually hurts Michigan as Mallory wants to blaze his own path at his own school.
Scenario 4 Miami just simply did a better job at recruiting Mallory than we did?
We are reaching ridiculous levels of arrogance when everytime we lose a recruit it is always for reasons other then getting out performed on the recruting front. And usualy the reasons offered cast aspersions on the recruit.
If we are in a meritocracy, as people love to point out, then it works across the board and recruting is not exempt from it. So when you lose a recruiting battle maybe it is because the other guys did a better job.
