Glad I took the day off to see DW play like the best player in the country and DJ and MAAR to come of age and  ZAK to get his stroke and confidence back.  Too excited about the tourney to work now anyway.  Go Blue !

Wagner.  It's frustrating that he's still so inconsistent.  But he's only a sophomore I guess.  We're going to need him to play much better going forward though.

Not everyone can be great every game. We had four guys who played very, very well, and one guy who was on another planet.

One of the most fun things about this team is that any combination of our top 6 can take over on any given day.

Wagner's come so far this year - the improvement of Wagner and DJ this year is astonishing.

His contributions were low, but the two early fouls (I never got a clear look at the first that was initially thought to be MAAR, and I'm skeptical about its validity) were killer.

Still, don't forget the key gamble by Beilein to put Wagner back on the floor in the 1st half for a couple of minutes when Ok St was starting to get some breathing room and Michigan was still flailing on offense. Moe allowed Michigan to run better sets and things tightened up, setting us up for the second half.

Unbelievable game and FUN!  Two great offenses facing off and Evans for OSU is a stud.  Either way that game turns out I'm happy and if they just do a little better with rebounds in the next game they are set up to make some noise! especially if Walton keeps playing like this.

BTW, having not seen Evans this year, I gained a lot of respect for him. Not just that he is good (obviously he is, and PGs are key in the tournament) but that when Walton was going off he continued to operate within the scope of the offense rather than make it personal and try to do too much. Ok St depended on his driving, but within a scheme that allowed ORebs and kickouts. Which they got.

I'm hopeful that if Walton gets hot against other teams some guards won't be quite so rational.

To step up.Small ball {Moe 14 mins.,Donnal 8) has been good on offense horrendous on def.,especially the boards (Capt.Obvious) 16-29 from 3 (including 4-6 from Zak) only 4 turn overs is hard to sustain.Walton's run is top 3 I've seen in Mich Hoops.

Tough win. Watching Evans fly up and down the court at will was so frustrating. Glad to get the win and move on. Can't wait for the possible revenge game. This team is playing exciting ball. Fun to watch. Recruits take notice. Go Blue!

A terrific display of offense by both teams. I will say this matchup scared me because of OSU's offense and rebounding skills.

1.  how did osu get 10,000 rebounds?  what was going on?

2.   the gamecast on my phone kept showing osu scoring in about 8 seconds after every michigan basket, what was up with our D?

muppets, joy, etc.   what a game for those of you who got to watch it..

1.  OK St.'s modus operandi is to crash the boards with vigor.  It's their game.   Also some laziness in stretches with little boxing out.  D.J. Wilson got caught napping on their last put-back offensive rebound.   Just watched Evan drive and didn't locate his man - his man conveniently crashed the boards to get an easy o-rebound bucket.   I'm OK with him watching Evans IF he's rotating over to block the shot.    We survived, and D.J. Wilson had some monster defensive stops with key blocks.

A little scary at the end, but it took the unlikely combo of Robinson missing the front end of two 1&1's and two absolute prayer 3's from OSU to get it down to 1. It really should have been more comfortable than that.

I'm now in retrospect glad that I didn't call off work to watch the whole game but instead snuck in snippets while no one was looking.  Because otherwise, I'd have suffered fourteen coronaries by now.

we got outrebounded 40-21 by a team that shot 54.7/43.8/87.5% and we won the game. Amazing. If we have a decent 3PT%, we lose by 10 points. Crazy game.

I only watched the play by play line, i.e. no live action, but this had the feel of the 1990 Loyola Marymount game (for those who can remember).  Except in that one LM also hit all the threes.  Also LM won by a lot.

It seems that Beilein teams tend to play well against pressure teams. We have the guard play to handle it.  There will be so many open shots.  Just hit them. We can keep Louisville in the 60's if we don't turn it over.

Though it was back and forth, for some reason, I never thought for a second we would actually lose.  Must have having Derek Walton on your team shooting like a sniper.

Awesome game.

GO BLUE!!

BOLD STATEMENT ALERT (I even thought about starting a thread on this):

Derrick Walton Jr is a better college basketball player than Mateen Cleaves ever was.

Oklahoma State fans have got to be pissed. I know I would be if Michigan were on the losing end of that one. We were no 7 seed, and they sure as hell were no 10 seed.

If I had no rooting interest, that would have been one of the best tourney games I've ever seen. Just... wow.

I cannot for the life of me understand why it seemed like all screens or switched assignments went so poorly. I don't know if it was poor communication, OSUs offensive sets or maybe fatigue. But we gotta stop all the bickering that seemed like was happening on the defensive end between maar, Wagner and Robinson

Great win. 5 more to go

As stupid as this sounds, them getting all those easy 2 buckets helped in the end.

I felt the defense did a decent job keeping Forte contained. He's one of the best 3pt shooters in the country and could have torched us. Instead, we  shut his 3pt shot down, allowed a bunch of easy 2's, and matched them all with 3's.

It doesn't exactly sound like a recipe for success, but it's what happened and I'll take it.

I might be wrong, but it was my understanding they were the no. 1 offense in the country. Their defensive problems were obvious, but they were an extremely difficult team to defend. They seemed to run the entire length of the court in about .08 seconds and their point guard, when able to penetrate and operate from that position on the court, which he's been successful at all year, gives them a very unique look and cuts and passes you don't see often.

As others have said, and not just Michigan fans, that was a great, great game and it did take the best 3 point shooting ever by a M BB team to beat them. I do wonder though, just how in the hell did they lose 3 straight prior to this game?
