Why is everyone forgetting the great --

Jack David Clancy (born June 18, 1944) is a former American football wide receiver who played for the Miami Dolphins in 1967 and 1969 and for the Green Bay Packers in 1970. He also played in college for the University of Michigan Wolverines from 1963 to 1966.

At Michigan, Clancy started as a quarterback, switched to halfback, returned punts and kickoffs, and became a star as an end. In two seasons as an end (1965–1966), Clancy rewrote the Michigan receiving record book. At the time of his graduation, he held the school records for most receptions and receiving yards in a career, season and game. His 1966 total of 197 receiving yards against Oregon State remained Michigan's single-game receiving record until November 6, 2010. He was named an All-American and also set the Big Ten Conference record for most receptions in a single season of conference play. Though most of his records have since been broken, Clancy continues to rank among the leading receivers in Michigan history.

Ken Higgins 1986. Nearly 20 yards a catch his senior season. Went to Harvard Law instead of his fifth year. Awesome possession receiver. Edit: too drunk to have properly replied to Coldwater.

but we have bupkis plays for a true slot. Not sure why he wants to come here. Better suited at like at an IU or NU type offense.

If you watched any of the 7 on 7 games at the Opening over the summer it was pretty clear he was more than just a slot. He's a slot like Julien Edelman or Wes Welker are/were "slots." Way more versatile and athletic than your typical slot guy.

I remember Kolesar fondly too.  We romanticize what is in the distant past.  I looked up his stats - he barely caught many passes a year - less than 20.  But when he did, WHOA NELLY - like a 23 yard average over a career!  And every 4th catch was a TD - he was like the rare all white panda!

Don't really care about color...The football doesn't care who catches it and puts up 6 and neither should any Michigan fan...Think of Drew as being light skinned...Martin will be great at UofM...But not because he's light pigmented..after all if you wear that helmet... We're all one color....GO BLUE!!

It seems that the Michigan community turned on him quick. Not sure if it was where the supposed crime took place (EL) or the nature of it... Personally I think he may be done. Let that be a lesson to the wet behind the ears frosh... Nothing good ever happens in EL after midnight or ever.... Except when we stroll in and smack that ass

I'd be hyped to add him to the class. He's one uncommitted guy it feels like Michigan is in the driver seat with

He's like Wes Welker and Steve Largent combined only Martin is like 3 times better and has less head injuries and hasnt ran for office

From the article I found about Martin at The Opening: “He was eating up high-profile defensive backs and catching everything,” 247Sports recruiting insider Steve Wilting said at the time. “He quickly gained the respect of all his peers there. Quite frankly, when he got off that plane in Oregon, I bet if you polled the other 165 players that were there, they wouldn’t have known who Oliver Martin was. When they left, they knew who he was and knew he stacked up.”
Stanford superstar Christian McCaffrey, who was a camp counselor there, called Martin “the best receiver here by far,” 247Sports' Barton Simmons wrote."

It's "cool" to have signing day surprises, but don't forget there is already plenty of excitement in the class.

People-Jones, Thomas, Ruiz, Black, Filiaga, McCaffrey, Singleton, Ross, Anthony, Samuels, and many more.

On MLive somebody just posted saying Oliver Martin committed. They posted a picture of Harbaugh and supposedly Oliver Martin in the pool. I guess when he committed they all jumped in the pool to celebrate. I wasn't sure if the kid next to Harbaugh was Martin or not because he looks a lot different than his pictures. Martin and Harbaugh were the only 2 in street clothes though swimming in the pool.
