Mother of Leesburg (Ga.) 5-star DT @AubreySolomon91 called today's in-home with #Michigan "the best visit ever" ($) http://www.scout.com/college/michigan/story/1746524-u-m-in-home-with-solomon-best-visit-ever

A picture is worth a thousand words. I'm still skeptical but get the "so you're telling me there's a chance memes" ready...

"Here we are still together
We are
So much time wasted
Playing games with love

So many tears I've cried
So much pain inside
But baby it ain't over 'til it's over
So many years we've tried
To keep our love alive
But baby it ain't over 'til it's over

How many times
Did we give up
But we always worked things out

And all my doubts and fear
Kept me wondering
If I'd always, always be in love

So many tears I've cried
So much pain inside
But baby it ain't over 'til it's over

So many years we've tried
And kept our love alive
'Cause baby it ain't over 'til it's over."

Harbaugh brought his kid to recruit Aubrey's sister? Bahahahaha.

This offseason is really something else whether it's the recruiting or coaching carousel.

I was sad to read that coach Wheatley was leaving. These photos made me feel much better. Coach Harbaugh is the the best, and nobody has it better than us!

How incredibly adorable.  Love that Harbaugh is promoting the family atmosphere, although I wouldn't expect anything less than the coach that used to get yelled at by Bo Schembechler as a child.

Is that a sign? Does that mean he meant his peer pressure induced comments? Is that toward the other schools and he's saying I'm all Blue? Can Rodman tweet at him and tell him to come like Gucci Mane thinks it's his responsibility?!? I need answers!!! Great pics! Looks like the coaches made a great case. (Like they and no one else needs to do!!) ((sorry for the double poke, still can't believe I read on this blog some posters defended tweeting at kids.))

If they can close with just Solomon, this recruiting class has everything. QB, top WR, OL, RB, pass rushing DEs, 3-tech types, HUGE DT, loaded LBs, two stud CBs...Only thing really missing is a TE, but I like the young ones we got last year.

I think this has been discussed here previously, but Mattison has the perfect gig. He loves to coach, and would go crazy at home. But he has slowed down just a tiny bit, so he can spend time with his family, who are in the Ann Arbor area. You can google it, but his wife loves for him to work (it is in his blood,) but to be around just a bit more. Lisa Roberts, his daughter, lives in Tecumseh with her husband and Mattison's first grandchild. Mattison also has a very strong relationship with Harbaugh senior. Somewhere in an interview, his wife and daughter have said, "we don't want to move, and you dragged us around forever. We'd like you to stay put."

Here's a quote from a 2011 SI article. Mattison had told Hoke and his daughter Lisa he couldn't leave Baltimore. Here is what ensued:

That's what he told Lisa on the phone, and the little girl who never talked back blew her stack in the way only an eight-months-pregnant woman can. "She just started crying," Mattison remembers. "Oh, boy, did I lose it," Lisa says. Lisa reminded her father that she had spent her childhood packing and unpacking her life as Mattison ping-ponged from one coaching job to another. With Lisa's baby and another grandchild on the way -- Mattison's son, Bryan, and his wife also were expecting -- Lisa wanted her father to be a fixture in his grandchildren's lives. "I had never pulled any sort of card," Lisa says. "It mattered to me that my daughter would grow up with her grandfather. He was such a great influence on my life. I wanted him to have that kind of influence on her life."

I don't think most of us understand the stress of constant moving. Mattison has the perfect situation.

As for why he wasn't along, who knows. I wouldn't be surprised if he was on the road with another recruit (Willie Gay? A 2018 prospect?)

I've considered Jimmy H an all star recruiter from the beginning but this one is so next level. Has anyone EVER thought to bring their young child (female at that) on a recruitment?! Obviously very well thought out with Aubrey's sister in mind...Gives her someone to enjoy while the coaches do their thing. His salesmanship is incredible because you don't even realize it..Fox in your henhouse....Milk...Steak...And now Eggs!

Not shady at all. His wife is home with a new born baby (premature) and Harbaugh brings his daughter to help out. Was it calculated that Aubrey had a little sister? I'm sure that played a part. But from all accounts Addison loves this stuff; she wasn't forced to go.

Staying in contact with the family and truly wanting to get to know a kid that you may have to have in your locker room for 4 yrs..I'm sure Jim has come to know the Solomon family and both sides agreed, bring the girl along to play while you talk to Aubrey, why not?
