Edit: For those who are having trouble accessing the previous thread, Aubrey was caught on another recruit's periscope saying "F*** Michigan" and expressing bitterness about the staff getting his name wrong (among other less than flattering comments).

I know schedules are made several years in advance, but let's buy out a tomato can and get a home at home with Georgia.

I figure, 3-4 years from now when our OL in finally talented and aged, and the Peters/McCaffery NFL caliber QB play is rolling, would be a good time.

Getting tired of those Dawgs.

...for us as Michigan alumni and fans to show the maturity and understanding that truly illustrate the Michigan Difference. By doing so, perhaps young Mr. Solomon will better appreciate all this fine institution has to offer.

I think his apology is rather classy.  If I had to apologize for ever time I made a mistake before my 20th birthday, I would have been very busy saying sorry.  I wish him well.

Divorce Court! Kids know how to pull on diehard fans emotions with games! They're still kids! That's why all of this "jiveturkeyness? (just made up) is irrelevant!! Its hard to do but is possible to wait until signing day to see who's really on board. F#$* the shenanigans

I'd like to once again mention how grateful I am that digital cameras, smart phones, and social media didn't exist in the 90's.

Because I'd probably be dead or in prison instead of posting on MGoBlog from a comfortable office.

I don't know how kids today stay sane.  I was born with a lot of stupid to get out of my system, so much that I still feel I'm not quite done yet.  MGoBlog ain't getting the worst of me from when I was young and angry.

I doubt I'd be dead or in prison, but I did have a "provoke every authority figure" rebel phase, so I would've torn through every zero-tolerance tripwire out of spite.  At the very least I'd be expelled, uneducated, ostracized and unemployed, probably eating shoes under a bridge with a bunch of other guys also not allowed within 500 yards of a school or residential area for offenses such as drawing a pecker in a biology textbook.

And I can say with absolute certainty that I would have been expelled given the same rules she's forced to live under.  When two kids have a fist fight in the hallway the police are called (if they're not there already) and one or both is charged with assault and battery.  They bring down the hammer for things that teachers/admins wouldn't have batted an eye over 20 years ago.  It's insane.

And that's at Royal Oak HS.  I'm sure it's way worse in poorer areas.

wow. that was actually unexpected. good on him for recognizing the offensiveness of what he said. interesting to me that he recognizes that saying that kind of stuff is a childish thing to do when it's practically the first words out of the mouths of grown men all across Ohio on any given day.

Not smoke a bowl on periscope?

Apology accepted.  People can debate whether he needed to do that, but I wish our politicians would use him as an example of how to give a real apology.  Heartfelt.

Not good, but keep in mind that our beloved coach once pretty much said "F" Michigan. I think we got over that pretty quickly once he decided to come "home".  Just keep in mind that the sky is blue, water is wet, and kids say stupid stuff.

He said that he wished his alma mater had the same high academic standards as Stanford, one of best 3 or 4 universities in the world, and it hurt the feelings of the wing of the alumni that wear the Harvard: The Michigan of the East shirts.

My point is that what he said did in fact leave the impression with a lot of people that he essentially was saying "F" you. Many people (not necessarily me, i could care less) were extremely butthurt and voiced strong opinions of not wanting him here as a coach after that. I don't know, maybe my memory isn't as clear as I thought.

I hope we cross paths with the team he commits to down the road, and destroy them. Best of Luck Aubrey, Go Blue!

He definitely isn't coming, but I think we knew that. If I remember correctly, Billy Price (ended up at OSU) acted like a fucking idiot on a visit to Michigan (for UTL, I think), got a talking to, then apologized. I'm pretty sure it was clear at that point that he was not coming. This feels the same.

Am I the only one that thinks this part is significant?

"Michigan fans and alums...I love the University of Michigan and everything it has to offer beyond football".

He's apologizing to fans and alums--not the football team or coaching staff.  He loves the University and what it has to offer beyond football--but not football.  I think he is apologizing, but not apologizing.  It sounds like he harbors ill will toward the football staff but regrets that the entire university was disparaged by his comments. He does not regret disparaging the football staff.  At least it sure sounds that way to me.  I'm sure he would prefer that the video hadn't gotten out. But he's not apologizing to everyone for it--just some.

Everyone take a moment and remember all the dumb things you did and said as a senior in high school......

Now thank the lord you were an average Joe and not one of the country's top football prospects because nobody remembers how dumb you were at age 18

Sounds like he was being influenced by the Georgia commit and  was acting hard for the camera. Maybe Momma Solomon sees this negative influence and tries to push him to Michigan. Trying to be optimistic here.
