It would not be surprising at all if they hired Kevin Wilson. OSU doesn't give two shits about the reports that he mistreated college kids. They want wins. They sold their souls years ago and they're never going back.

He was about as successful as IU can hope to do, and they fired him before the season even ended.
Had to be some serious stuff. And the details will leak out and be used against him in recruiting.
Why would OSU hire him with that baggage and the negative recruiting it will bring?
There are other equally smart OCs they can target without the downsides.
Wilson got good results at IU, but he is not Amos Alonzo Stagg or something. Just a good coach. There are many equally good or better that OSU could hire.

OSU's athetlic center is named after a man who was fired for punching a kid in the throat. They don't care about the treatment of players, and neither do the parents.

Woody went psycho at the drop of a hat. You know he hit his own players.

The argument is that Wilson is too much of a recruiting liability, given that, while a good coach, is not some sort of coaching god.
There are many others who equal Wilson as an offensive mind and play caller, but without the negative of having to discuss the facts that lead to his dismissal to every recruit.

Meyer left Barrett in the game, up until the end, just to try to get points on the board, to preserve his non-shutout streak. I'm surprised he let Beck make it back to columbus (or, do we know if he actually did?). He's just following the example of the most successfull coaches of our time; belicheck and saban. They simply don't care what outsiders think of their actions. As long as it gives them a better chance to win, and their bosses sign off on it, they will do whatever it takes. And, as long as they keep winning, their bosses will sign off on anything. Is it hard for people, with integrity to swallow? Hell yeah. But, I hope UM never suffers from a similar affliction. I'm confident that Harbaugh lays his head on the pillow, every night, knowing he's doing the right thing. That's still important.

There is a lot od Twitter chatter about this, but nothing confirmed that I can find. Basically, at the moment, it is people trying to put a series of conincidences both at Texas and at Ohio State together. To my knowledge, there is zero that is official about this at the moment, but that could very well change.

They aren't going to have a down period because they fire him They should have no problem finding a good quality replacement. I should point out that Meyer always uses co-coordinators which makes for easier transitions.
If they hire Wilson, they will be copying Saban's strategy. Sark and Wilson would be both be HCs if not for the issues that got them fired. Maybe Briles will be next. Those guys are all good coaches, but no P5 school is going to put them in charge of their program.

I'll believe it when I see it.
Kevin Wilson started following OSU on twitter and it started a shitstorm. Not saying it won't happen but come on people.

If player's parents were really worried about how coaches treat their kid, Mike Riley would get the #1 class every year.
At the talent level OSU recruits, kids are concerned with the NFL. Plain and simple.

Mike Riley had no problem with members of his Oergon State team gang raping a girl...he claims to have changed now letting her speak to his current team but I'd hardly say safe after that story.

My Texas-prof. and fan brother-in-law told me about this a few days ago. He also said that JT Barett could be a grad transfer, joining his former coaches Herman and Beck. The pitch is that Herman can make him more NFL ready. I sniffed that he would only be going to the show if Herman was training him as a long snapper. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what I think. Even if it's 95% BS any destabilization there is more than fine with me.

is getting paid by two teams to not coach them anymore. Chip Kelly will take a year off from coaching, look for the right fit and be back in 2018. Could be NFL could be NCAA, but doubt the NFL takes a chance on a guy that bombed in two places.
I think a couple Pac12 jobs could open next year. Cal and UCLA. Kansas should hire that dude.
