You just gotta love it. And now there is a far more photogenic replacement for last year's final play. Pride goeth...

And in glorious fashion, we got the last word. That was the great ending to the big FUCK YOU Dantonio.

It does if you're a human bowel irritant like Dantonio.

or so msu's coach says.

On the margin, it made no sense. Yes, Sparty's hopes of scoring another TD were nearly non-existent at that point w/ 1 second remaining, since you can't advance a recovered onsides kick, but still, all going for two does is reduce the chance that you'll be less than seven points down afterward from 95% to 40-45%.
Serves Mork right for making a negatively contributing decision to the expected outcome.

The game was mostly unenjoyable from a "why are they so close?" perspective, but I laughed so goddamn hard at the final play. Literally no reason to go for two instead of an extra point, and it bit them so hard. Eat shit, Dantonio.

It was important that Jabrill actually housed it right? Because theoretically MSU could've recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and returned it for the tie right? The 2-pt conversion took MSU's odds from 0.1% to 0.0%

so like a 0.1% chance or 0.01% chance
and yes, I will eat crow. I wasn't sure of it being a blowout but sure didn't see that crap MSU offense moving the ball that well. thought for once we were good enough and MSU bad enough that MSU's disrespekt-power would finally just got dominated by talent. Obviously not.

Alternatively, if MSU recovered the onside kick on first touch while already down, the clock might not have expired and they might have gotten one snap. Either way, PEPPERS!!!!

I didn't make my point well. MSU would have had to recover it completely cleanly, I guess. The clock doesn't start until the ball is touched, so if it bounced around a bit, the clock would expire, but if not, then, maybe they'd get one play in.

If the Spartan player is diving on it, doesn't he have to go through "the process" to possess it, thus taking longer?
I suppose possess it cleanly without any subsequent movement is what you're after in that situation.

MSU could've recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff

Are you sure, what if UofM would have had a penalty and MSU recovered - would there not be 1 untimed down - or no?

that decision. The spite card finally bit them in the ass against Michigan and allowed J.P. to make a play and get Michigan the last score.
October 29th, 2016 at 3:56 PM ^
Of moronic coaching call and Peppers' return for 2 almost makes up for this not being the ass kicking it should have been.
