Sparty UP 3 to 8?!?!

Clearly, CLEARLY, this is not a poll of people who watch other games.
September 6th, 2016 at 1:08 PM ^
I mean, it's a coaches poll, so most of them probably didn't watch other games since they were coaching.
September 6th, 2016 at 1:21 PM ^
It's a SID poll, but yes and that's why it's worthless.

Tennessee got punished (appropriately) for its unimpressive win, so why not Michigan State??

App State, however, is a probable bowl team. MSU's opponent wouldn't have made a bowl game last season in the FCS if they had bowls. Tennesse should have jumped to #1 based on the MSU metric these coaches used. Not that I would agree with such things.
September 6th, 2016 at 4:33 PM ^
Furman wouldn't have made the bowl game in the FCS division because there are NO BOWL GAMES in the FCS division!

not totally sure why stanford is ahead of us, or why michigan state went up 3 spots, but otherwise this is fine with me.
September 6th, 2016 at 1:07 PM ^
Maybe some folks think K-State will be good this year and they're giving Stanford a little extra bump. Beating K-State is more difficult than beating Hawaii.
And I'm guessing that MSU moved up mostly because there was so much chaos ahead of them.

WTF is Staee doing in the top 10?
September 6th, 2016 at 12:58 PM ^
The entire Frost family is going to be so PISSED. Nebraska doesnt even show up under "others receiving votes".

Finebaum must be fuming.

Stanford ahead of us is a fucking joke. So is MSU and Iowa in the top 10. But I guess it's not the coaches' job to watch the games, so whatever.
September 6th, 2016 at 1:47 PM ^
True, but our B1G opponents moving into the top-10 is nothing but good for us.
By this poll, we play numbers 4, 8, 10, and 16 this year. That's a good resume.
September 6th, 2016 at 1:01 PM ^
Colorado got a vote. If they take care of business against Idaho State, we could have a ranked showdown in week three.
September 6th, 2016 at 1:01 PM ^
MSU jumped three spots? What in the actual fuck were they watching?
Oh, they don't watch, they just vote? Well that's dumb...
September 6th, 2016 at 1:26 PM ^
Well said, sir.
September 6th, 2016 at 1:11 PM ^
Now after edging "mighty" Furman (FCS, 4-7 last year) they actually move up 3 more spots is stunning. WTF coaches? Who on your staffs are filling out these rankings for you?
September 6th, 2016 at 1:02 PM ^
MSU moving up is absolutely asinine.

How did Tennessee move down and sparty move up? They both played down to competition and came out with wins. Tennessee played a team in the top 50 of the FBS. Sparty played a team not in the top 50 of the FCS. Make up your mind!

Media Big Ten bias!
September 6th, 2016 at 1:30 PM ^
MSU looked way worse than Tennesse. Furman is not even close to the level of App State.
September 6th, 2016 at 1:05 PM ^
I'd love for Sparty to be a "top 10" team when we wipe the field with them.
