OT: Iowa Hawkeye's star player is sweeping the shed
An interesting article* on Iowa's attempt to build and propagate a winning culture and it sounds like they are on the right track.
Good for them, it would be nice for Iowa to step up in the B1G West. I for one have always appreciated their blue collar work ethic and wish then all the best this season (save the one/two game(s) that I shall be in attendace).
Pass the Ball
Sweep the Sheds
Keep a Blue Head
Be a Good Ancestor

* [Edit at 2:15pm: What makes it interesting is that it's based on a book that all of the players are required to read.
Though the 207-page book, authored by James Kerr, details years of principles instilled by the world’s most successful rugby team, the All Blacks of New Zealand, it speaks profoundly to the current state of Hawkeye football.]
As stated above: "attempt to build and propagate..."

Pass the ball,
Sweep the sheds,
Keep a blue head;
Be a good ancestor
Clearly one of William Carlos Williams' lesser known and, dare I say, less successful works.

If Iowa stepped up and Nebraska and Wisconsin do their part, plus throw in the fiesty Wildcat or Gopher on any given year... then yes WD, perhaps you might be a little more impressed with them dominating the Big XII North #2..
We know Iowa has trouble stringing together successful seasons consistently. Additionally, we have lamented on the lack of strength in the B1G West.
So here is a team that is attempting to create, cultivate and progagate a winning culture at a location that inhertently is at a disatvantage. To think outside the box. To instill in it's men values that go far toward building character both on and off the field.
I for one acknowledge, applaud and encourage these efforts and thought the the board might be interested in knowing what's in the head of our future opponent.

Give respect where it is due. This shit right here is a huge cause of your issues. You don't have to try to shit all over everything that isn't Michigan all the time. Your schtick; it's tiring.
edit; stick to stats and fire gifs.
Hater-ish behavior like that (regardless of the source) gets old quick.
Chuck Long disappearing behind a swarm of Winged Helmets - and the football popping out of the middle for a 25 yard completion.
Ah, the rural heartland team credited with a blue-collar work ethic.
There's a big gap between the popular perception of Iowa and the reality of that state for many people.
I live in Iowa, and I'm confused as fuck, I give you that.
need to be Rutgers' rival. Someone call the order of the Bulls Blood!!
Given the proximity, shouldn't we hand over the "Illinois #1 Rival" mantle to Iowa so that we can focus on defending our Rutgers' rivalry???

Often it is a perfect combination of BOTH factors.
Hey now, smartass!
(I'm asking as I grew up with a possible "co-worker" of his here in IA).
Holy fuckin' stereotypes, Batman.

I guess the only question I have about the book then - without reading it as yet (I might for the hell of it, because I could use some summer reading) - is this:
Would th All Blacks punt from their opponent's 36 yard line?
OK, one more question -
Would the All Blacks roll out a 4 TE set on 2nd and 15?
Sort of curious what other lessons Iowa football picked up here...
