OT: 2016 NFL Draft Day 2 open thread

Submitted by Magnus on

The second day of the 2016 NFL Draft is under way. What kinds of crazy things will happen tonight?

Two guys with injury question marks are already off the board. Jaylon Smith (Notre Dame) was picked by the Cowboys, and Myles Jack (UCLA) went to the Jaguars.

Why New England? They've got Brady (obviously) and Jimmy Garopollo. Obviously, they need more depth at QB, but I think they'll bring in a veteran (maybe Brian Hoyer) rather than bring in another young QB with a relatively high draft pick.

I wouldn't be surprised to see New England take a QB later in the draft, but not in the 2nd/3rd round.

I like the Lions pick.  They seem to be focusing on the lines really well.

Hackenberg being a 2nd-rounder blows my mind.  He must be much better in workouts and talking to coaches than he showed on the field.

Jesus Christ OSU... We better destroy them next year. No way they're the same after losing all that talent!

I think a big part of it is position. Centers are naturally valued less than tackles, which is why you had Stanley, Conklin, and Tunsil go ahead of Ryan Kelly. Glasgow also had a fair share of pre-snap penalties, and he's had off-the-field issues.

I tracked a lot of these guys overall coming out of high school, but I didn't really pay attention to A'Shawn Robinson back then.

I was a big fan of Taylor Decker in high school, though. He was an Ohio kid who committed to Notre Dame at one point before flipping to Ohio State. He was a kid who I thought could have started for several years at Michigan. As things stand now, I like the pick for the Lions, but I can't help being a bit bitter that I'll be rooting for a Buckeye.
