Woodson to take Keyshawn's spot on Sunday NFLCountdown
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/02/12/charles-woodson-lands-i…
Per the article, Chuck already has a job lined up for life after football with ESPN on SUnday NFL Countdown. And in my opinion a huge upgrade over Keyshawn.
Per McIntyre, Woodson will join the current cast of Chris Berman, Tom Jackson, Mike Ditka, and Cris Carter. However, many in the industry expect the lineup to last only one year, with even more changes coming in 2017 as the network tries to unload bloated salaries and simultaneously skew younger.
Hopefully Carter is on of the others that is asked to move on after next season. He's also brutal.

Keyshawn is an asshole. I ran into him at a Super Bowl party a few years back and along with a buddy went up to say hi and have a few words with him. He was standing alone with his bodyguard talking to no one at the time. He had his bodyguard push us away with a "Keyshawn doesn't want to talk with you right now". We relayed the message to my buddy's brother who was the one hosting the party and 30 minutes later his boyguard found us and told us "Keyshawn will talk with you now". We just laughed and walked away.

I agree with everything Monkey House said. I might add, though, if Carter went to Michigan, he wouldn't "yell and say 'come on mannnn' 50 times a show." He would have learned how to present and represent.

That way he can spend more time with his "fall guy" at the club.

Michigan with a huge role in College Gameday and NFL Countdown? That's big.

Keyshawn was awful when he started, but he's like the most improved announcer in the history of the world. Still not great, but man, he's actually not bad now. Carter is just death-defyingly awful.
They better NEVER get rid of Tom Jackson though. EVER.
Raise your hand if you wish they'd go back to just boomer and Tommy for 90 minutes on Sunday nights.

Tom Jackson has said the same shit for as long as I can remember. He is the worst. I was just talking with some friends about how they need new people for that show during on super bowl day. They could not have made a better choice to add. #GOAT

The problem is if he joined them, Eisen fanboying the entire broadcast might not make for productive analysis.
February 12th, 2016 at 5:33 PM ^
I don't think that would have been a barrier to hiring Woodson. Eisen & Woodson are both pros. Woodson had also already done a bunch of part-time analyst work on NFL Network. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to hire him because Eisen loves him, but ESPN may have outbid them.
I would love to see Woodson & Manning both on ESPN replacing Keyshawn and Cris Carter. I think both are going to be excellent on TV.

Are on football pregame shows. Cool. So we can expect Jabrill on the NFL Network in about 20 years.

I tired of listening to Ray Lewis tell us how good a person he is about 10 minutes after that murdering shithole was hired. As long as neither Desmond nor Charles have to share a stage with him, I'll be good...
February 13th, 2016 at 12:53 AM ^
Hey, he might not be a murdering shithole. He could be an accessory to murder shithole.
February 12th, 2016 at 7:48 PM ^
I am happy for him, but it reminds me I am not ready yet for football without Woodson. That guy has been a constant for 21 years. That's well over half of my life.
February 12th, 2016 at 8:10 PM ^
Dammit, I will never see him then...

Hate the nfl shows but i'll check this out. Woodson has always been cooler than cool to me. Hopefully he doesnt get contaminated by the clowns he'll be working with.
