Also, Sam Webb believes momentum in Hill's recruitment has swung to Michigan.

I may wind up eating lemons and limes on this one and I'll be perfectly fine with it as it means we'll be getting him.

For those at work wanting to kill a few hours, I highly suggest listening to the first few hours of the Michigan Insider podcasts through WTKA from this morning. Sam and Ira spent practically the whole first two hours discussing previous recruiting classes as well as a few stories from some of those recruits. Sam went through his top two recruiting classes from the past twenty years or so, and he made the comment to the effect that this year's class should be up there in that top three range.

It was a very good listen and made my morning of work blaze by. Really good stuff.

if he doesn't go to Penn State, than did PSu committ a violation for putting him on the scoreboard, didn't LSu get like a 2 year penalty for no early enrolles because of that ?

We keep reading stories how Michigan is turning the other cheek in its push for top talent outside Michigan and Ohio while focusing on kids in New Jersey, Sunbelt states and West where Harbaugh and his staff have scouting and recruiting inroads, and yet we still have a lot of kids here who help make the process the kind of hit and miss proposition it is.

Every kid has his own story and a different experience deciding what's best for his future. And all the schools can do is keep on offering and hoping they've made the right choices.

These decisions are huge. And this is a business whether we want to think otherwise about it. I have stopped concerning myself about how this staff will fare in the process. Because I know they hit it with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind. And that's more than you can ask.

Be honest, be forthcoming and do it the right way even if you offer a million kids. And those you have to turn away will not necessarily be happy, but they will know that getting into Michigan is a tough proposiiton even if you're sought after. Good luck to Lavert whatever he decides.

they lost the ability to issue financial aid agreements to early enrollees.  But they can still have early enrollees.

Franklin maintains the PSU compliance department cleared this with the NCAA.  Who knows if penalties will result, but if they do someone's in trouble, and I do believe the "buck should stop" with Franklin.

At the least, it was an event with significantly more "risk" than "reward" (in the course of recruiting history, has putting someone on screen at a sporting event changed ANYBODY's mind?).
