Rashan Gary at Pizza House
I just ran into Rashan Gary, Drew Singleton, and a couple Paramus Catholic coaches at Pizza House. Told 'em we love players from New Jersey and that Paramus has been good to us so far (they laughed). Said I thought they'd find Ann Arbor to be a good place to spend their college years, they said they agreed.
Feel free to delete this if this doesn't add enough to the discussion. I'm only posting because I was not aware that Gary was in town on an unofficial and thought folks might find that to be positive news. If it is common knowledge he's in town, you may also feel free to delete!

Meh. Maybe one more guy. Most of the Jersey guys are coming anyways. And Harbaugh is going to get his guys here regardless.

Pizza House is good, but doesn't compare to most pizza joints in Jersey. Hopefully he tries Jets Pizza (which I miss the most since leaving Michigan) and the meaty hippie hash at Fleetwood.

Same here. They have a wierd sauce. Also, Jets round is actually better than their square IMO.

Surprised to see Cottage Inn with Dominos on your "bad" list. I'd put Hungry Howies at the bottom, below even Little Ceasars. And Pizza Hut, yuck.
Folks who like Jets would probably love Buddy's, especially from the original 6/Conant location.

Always found the late night sandwich specials (cheesey bread anyone?) to be a lot better than their pizza.
(that could also be due to the fact that I was intoxicated most of the time)

Buddys or Jets - can't go wrong.

One of the smartest things I did in college was realize we should order pizza house as we were leaving the bar at closing time so it would be getting delivered as we were getting home.
I miss the delivery service more than I miss the food.

There was a Cottage Inn carryout on my walk home from bars and I'd sometimes call an order when I was getting ready to leave and it would be ready when I stopped by on my way home

Most of the time I was still awake by the time the food arrived. Sometimes I didn't. There were a few places that didn't let me order delivery at night by the time I left campus.

As others have noted, it is more likely based on an impeccable delivery practice, solid all-around menu, and perhaps dishwashers that double as Tom Brady's elite staff of scouts.
I digress...

Ok crust, but usually a watery sauce that looks like it was sprayed on with a windex bottle.

Since always. Every NJ town claims to have the best and most original pie anywhere. It is very territorial. In DC there is actually a pizza spot that ships in New York/New Jersey water because they claim it mixes better with their dough.

We actually have a place just north of Atlanta that does the same thing. Owners are from NY. Crazy, but really good.

Food Lab guy actually tested that and found it didn't realy make a difference

You serious Clark? Pizza is kind of a big deal around here.

Literally have never ever heard of New Jersey pizza at all and I've lived in the region. I've heard of the virtues of NY, Chicago, Detroit, and even Buffalo pizza but never once New Jersey

Alum 93 alluded to it below. When it comes to pizza I'm not saying Jersey pizza exclusively I'm referring to our region in NY/NJ. Northern NJ where I'm from is pretty much the 'burbs of NYC. Same expertise in pizza. Big Italian population. If someone from around here walks in with a pizza from a chain you would look at him like he's crazy. The best pizza is from the small privatey owned spots and even though they're small everyone in your county knows who they are. It's crazy how many great pizza places there are in thisarea.

NY and NJ pizza is equally good. NJ may be better...

Backroom Pizza was the best late night snack walking home from the bar in my day. Well, if said bar was Ricks that is.

Did you at least hip him to the fact that you always ask for ranch with your pizza at the Pizza House? I mean, that's the most important information there is in that situation. Screw football.

That's one I haven't tried - but I will, and thanks for the suggestion.
In general, I've found that every other ranch dressing NOT from Hidden Valley is just nasty. Not a single one has had the balance of spice, viscosity and flavor. Worst of the lot had to be the stuff my wife would buy whenever she thought I was consuming too much fat, sodium, etc.

we will have an answer and this will be over and we'll hopefully be wondering what jersey # Rashan will be wearing for the Maize and Blue!
