Michigan is number one in the big ten since the start of february according to Torvik and top ten in the country. It is clear that this team has been growing and getting a lot better. We just won our last two tough games without our second leading scorer. You have to have your head in the sand, not watching the games, or just have a personal hatred of Juwan to think that he has not had this team growing and getting better.
I really don't think average rating is the way to rank classes. Big classes like ours will always be at a disadvantage.
If you were to take the top 14 people in our class we would have an average ranking of .9506 which is much higher than Stanford and Clemson's 14 people class. Our 14 best are better than theirs and we have 16 more guys, some of them 4 stars who all could potentially become stars. In no way do they have a better class yet in this metric they are a whole nother category ahead of us.

I think isaac is better in almost every situation except very short yardage which I like the give it to the hammering panda strategy anyways. Deveon is only superior to the other backs in pass protection and that's it.

Man, I guess if you only ever tried to read DFW's fiction you may think he is pretentious, but after reading his non fiction and listening to his speech 'this is water' you may change your mind. Or it could be that he is backing up one of the best quarterbacks in all of college football and wants to get a chance to play. I watched a few TTU games and he is the real deal I can totally understand why someone would want to transfer away.

I think that they are starting to go away from their original mission, which is why people are starting to resent them. They are more concerned with employing controversial talking heads and talkign about sports celebrity culture rather than doing good sports focused journalism. If they spent more time and resources on 30 for 30, Grantland and people like Bill Simmons instead of giving so much attention to Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith people would probabily have a better opinion of them.
I am pretty sure every athlete needs to pass Calc 2 to graduate (don't quote me). I think that is quite the challenge to get a whole football team to pass a class like that.
It is very possible to have someone coach both the DL and Linebackers, keep the secondary coaches the way they are and not have Pruitt be a position coach. Not every DC has a position they coach and not every team has a coach for both the DL and Linebackers. This wouldn't be abnormal.
Why is being old bad? I don't like to hire head coaches who are old but if you can get a really good DC who is 60 I feel like that is best case scenario. You can make sure you get 5 or 6 good years out of him and he isn't worried about trying to chase a HC dream somewhere. On the other hand, if you get a guy who is in his late 30's they are actively trying to become a HC and might even leave after only one year.
I was in the student section, and I thought they were coming to taunt us at first, but I am relatively certain that they were just going to see their teammate who had broken his hip.
In my opinion, I think Mitchell looke a lot better. I was always on the Mitchell train even before he committed. Corley just doesn't look that impressive but I think there is something to be said about locking down the good hometown recruits.
I think are stats are more impressive. If we didn't have a pick six we would have less points per game and we are averaging I think around 60 yards less a game. We are also averaging less yards per play. Both extremely impressive but I say ours are a little bit more impressive.
I hope it is true, but we also have to not forget how dominant that 1997 defense was. They played 7 top 25 teams and let up an average of 189.7 yds a game for the season. Our defense is good but even without Big Ten play we are averaging 203.8 right now.
To put how impressive that is, Clemson led the nation last year with 260.8 yds last year and no team since 2011 Alabama has allowed less than 250 a game.
No team has let up less passing yards a game since then, it may be the best defense modern college football has seen.
The line has given up one sack all year and didn't give up any to Utah, who had the most sacks in the entire country the year before. Pass protection has been excellent in all three games. Maybe the utah game left more to be desired in the run blocking arena but they were far from failing "spectacularly".
Apparently that was because we told him we dont have room, he was ready to commit. Although there has been reports we are opening tthings back up with him since we are worried about our kicking situation in the future.
I don't know much about kicking but I would also like an explanation. I know Kenny very well and he has been going to kicking camps since he was a little kid and has trained with all the top specialist coaches like kornblue. If there is a lapse in form I am sure it is an anomaly.

Bolden barely even got any snaps against Maryland and is playing a lot less because of the formations we have been running.
