Rashan Gary at Pizza House

Submitted by BeantownBlue on

I just ran into Rashan Gary, Drew Singleton, and a couple Paramus Catholic coaches at Pizza House.  Told 'em we love players from New Jersey and that Paramus has been good to us so far  (they laughed).  Said I thought they'd find Ann Arbor to be a good place to spend their college years, they said they agreed.

Feel free to delete this if this doesn't add enough to the discussion.  I'm only posting because I was not aware that Gary was in town on an unofficial and thought folks might find that to be positive news.  If it is common knowledge he's in town, you may also feel free to delete!

Pizza House is good, but doesn't compare to most pizza joints in Jersey. Hopefully he tries Jets Pizza (which I miss the most since leaving Michigan) and the meaty hippie hash at Fleetwood.

Yeah but Pizza House will deliver anything you want -- pizza or otherwise -- until like 3am or so.

One of the smartest things I did in college was realize we should order pizza house as we were leaving the bar at closing time so it would be getting delivered as we were getting home.

I miss the delivery service more than I miss the food.

I don't think many would argue that pizza house is so appreciated due to its pizza in particular.

As others have noted, it is more likely based on an impeccable delivery practice, solid all-around menu, and perhaps dishwashers that double as Tom Brady's elite staff of scouts.

I digress...

Alum 93 alluded to it below. When it comes to pizza I'm not saying Jersey pizza exclusively I'm referring to our region in NY/NJ. Northern NJ where I'm from is pretty much the 'burbs of NYC. Same expertise in pizza. Big Italian population. If someone from around here walks in with a pizza from a chain you would look at him like he's crazy. The best pizza is from the small privatey owned spots and even though they're small everyone in your county knows who they are. It's crazy how many great pizza places there are in thisarea.

Did you at least hip him to the fact that you always ask for ranch with your pizza at the Pizza House? I mean, that's the most important information there is in that situation. Screw football.

That's one I haven't tried - but I will, and thanks for the suggestion.

In general, I've found that every other ranch dressing NOT from Hidden Valley is just nasty. Not a single one has had the balance of spice, viscosity and flavor. Worst of the lot had to be the stuff my wife would buy whenever she thought I was consuming too much fat, sodium, etc.
