Depth Chart By Class 2016 Comment Count

Brian

Hello. Every year we prune the seniors and bump everybody up a year to maintain our overview of the Michigan roster. It lives under the "Useful Stuff" tab and is a wiki page editable by anyone with 500 points. Note that early-enrollee commits have already been moved into the "freshmen" column since they're on campus with the exception of Brandon Peters, who will arrive as soon as he's done with the Army game.

Ed-S: Now with mouseovers! Hold your mouse over each name to get the latest height, weight, and player he most would resemble if he totally pans out.* Click takes you to his recruiting profile, or if that's not available his Hello: post.

walk-ons denoted with # unless they've clearly graduated from that distinction,

Allotted: 92/85

Walk-Ons Or Scholarship Players: Ryan Glasgow is assumed to be on scholarship, as are all three specialists. That latter may be incorrect.

Recruits: 16 plus attrition

Latest Updates:

1/1 – updated for 2016

Like "YMRMFSPA" in this site's recruiting profiles, it doesn't say Kaleb Ringer is Sam Sword or even that we think he's a future Sam Sword, just that if he were to reach the outer bounds of reasonable expectation a senior starting Ringer may resemble Sword. For most the original recruiting YMRMFSPA is listed, though I've updated many of the upperclassmen to reflect renewed expectations.

We have two top 100 Gs in this class - Onwenu and Bredeson - who have potential to push for starting jobs next year (hope they redshirt tho) and a player in Cole who is probably best at G or C. The tackle position is a bigger question although both Cole and Bredeson are capable - if not the ideal body-type for the position.

Ugly spring?
Looks like we are going to have to cut some players... Not anticipating those conversations, but put me on the side of the you said you could play ball but your really can't so goodbye crowd

Only now realizing our secondary will be held down by Lewis and Clark next year. You want to make a manifest destiny joke, but it's kind of the opposite. "No one shall explore the region beyond scrimmage." Alone in the wilderness, surviving with only a Canteen, some Cole, and Peppers between them.

I actually think (from a pure looks standpoint) that Stribling is better than Clark. Honestly Clark has not one iota of ball skills while in coverage. He had four sure fire interceptions this year that he just didn't go up for.

Hell, he nearly gave up a 40 yard pass on a ball underthrown by ten yards vs Florida.

I have a hard time seeing where the "10 or 11" that we have heard will be gone are coming from. Most of the non-5th year attrition would seem to come from areas that will already be thin in 2017. (Based on non-contributing juniors and sophomores - IF that's where they came from)

it would count against the scholarships, but not the recruits. Although, now I can't seem to find where I read that, so it's entirely possible that I dreamt that. It would be a better dream than all those work dreams I have where I can't finish anything before the deadline.

I believe that (as others have stated above) we can't pull any kicker/punter scholarships except Allen's as they are on the four-year guaranteed versions.  Allen is a key contributor and pulling his scholarship could backfire spectacularly in many ways.

The fifth-year seniors who I would judge most likely to get the firm handshake are at positions of need, as are some of the medical rumors.

Mostly I hope that any medical scholarships are of the Austin Hatch variety and not the Ondre Pipkins variety.

I would be absolutely against pulling scholarships from players with eligibility remaining.  That's not the Michigan way and is counterproductive in the long run.

but this is the first time I'm really seeing how thin we are on the line on both sides of the ball after next year. I really hope some of these young guys pan out.

I'm making over $7k a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life. For further details, Check this link ►►►► www.pay-buzz.com
