Crisler was ROCKING tonight. I almost didn't go. But then I did. Posbang me, please!

11/06/2018 - 4:25pm Interesting. Ticketmaster…

Interesting. Ticketmaster has it the same as Stubhub.

11/06/2018 - 4:22pm Tix have been on sale for…

Tix have been on sale for weeks (months?) on Ticketmaster. I bought a pair for $75/ea plus fees a couple weeks ago. Not great seats, but not terrible either. If we don't go, I'll get what I can for them on StubHub. If we do, and I can get better seats through UM, I'll buy 'em and sell the ones I already bought.

I booked a cancellable hotel on the outskirts months ago. Downtown rooms were available back then, but I just won't pay what they're asking.

11/05/2018 - 2:28am Bought a pair on…

Bought a pair on Ticketmaster right after the MSU game. $75 plus fees. A risk worth taking.

49-3. I doubt it'll happen. But I want it to. #2002

10/06/2018 - 9:33pm Bottom line, if not for two…

Bottom line, if not for two penalties, it would have been 56-21.

There, fixed it for you.

"...the offensive line gave the backs and quarterback time and space..."

My favorite line in this post.

Angry Michigan Hating God is alive and well and following dudes to the NFL. Damn. Hang in there, Jake Butt.

I hear "former [insert school/mascot] all the time. Just listen to NFL broadcasts. The one that really bugs me is "Former Heisman Trophy Winner..." which has been uttered many times about Charles Woodson. I'm like, "what...did he give it back?"

Assuming he's here that long...

09/04/2018 - 3:36pm Zero.

Going into the season…

Zero.

Going into the season, my expectation was that even if we lost to ND, the team would look better. And by that, I mostly mean better on offense. On Saturday, it did not.

So, I have reset my expectations to zero. I expect nothing. That way, any win will be a pleasant surprise.

08/15/2018 - 12:45am Same here... except when…

Same here... except when they pulled the catheter out? I hope to never have to endure that again.

08/14/2018 - 11:35pm From a football standpoint,…

From a football standpoint, people will always say App State. I get it...lower division...blah blah blah....  but they were a national championship team. For me, it's the 2008 loss to Toledo. Our only loss to a MAC school. And they went 3-9 that year, too.

08/10/2018 - 12:34am I'm a bit of a Samsung…

I'm a bit of a Samsung loyalist. All my electronics are Samsung, have been for years. My 42" 720p plasma has been going strong for 13 years now. Every now and again, I think I should upgrade... and then I ask myself why? My TV's picture is still beautiful. I used to want a smart TV until I added a Roku stick a couple years ago. I have what I need and I'm still happy with it. I'll probably keep it until it dies (or I do).

A 7-minute video on that shit?  I was done after 2 seconds.

Whew...   for a, um, brief moment there, I was horrified at the thought that it actually WAS 'tidy whities' and I'd been saying/writing it incorrectly for decades.

Those shirts with the huge Nike swoosh and afterthought Michigan are turrible.

05/15/2018 - 12:46pm Munich

I've been several times, twice to Oktoberfest, and a couple others outside that.

My personal fave food/beer is the Schneider Bräuhaus. Great atmosphere and perhaps a little less touristy than Hofbräuhaus (no knock...HB is great fun). Schneider Aventinus (aka, Tap 6) is...if I was forced to name one...my favorite beer on the planet.

Great beer gardens in Munich, of course, which some have mentioned above. Assuming you make it to Englischer Garten, and therefore Chinesischerturm, you should also definitely check out Seehaus im Englischen Garten.  One of my faves in all of Munich, with a stunning lakeside setting.

04/30/2018 - 12:12am I would like for the cadaver

I would like for the cadaver couple that sits in front of me to stop coming to games.

04/15/2018 - 1:35pm Actually, the video that

Actually, the video that follows that one, about a holiday artichoke dip gone wrong, is hilarious. And there's an announcement on the bottom of the screen of a cannabis production facility being built near Edmonton airport. Gotta love Canada!

04/13/2018 - 7:38pm Season tix is what my tax

Season tix is what my tax refund is for every year. And I'm ok with that.

04/05/2018 - 1:04pm This^^

...on both counts.

04/02/2018 - 11:45pm OOPS

Nothing to see here. Kinda like the game. :(

04/02/2018 - 11:41pm After losing to Northwestern

After losing to Northwestern on Feb 6, they were a bubble team..a loss or two from not even getting to the tourney.  Reeled off 14 in a row to get to the big one. Can't be too upset. GO BLUE.

03/21/2018 - 9:19pm ^^This. The pulled pork

^^This. The pulled pork nachos are the best nachos in the history of ever. Plus, it's stumbling home distance for me.

03/16/2018 - 3:57pm cuck

Well, I've learned something new today. I'd never heard this meaning of 'cuck' and I consider myself to be fairly up to speed as what's going on in politics. Hmmm. Maybe not as much as I think, apparently.

Anyway... following basketball last night, I caught an episode of The Detour (a show I saw once a while back, decided I hated, and didn't see again until last night). There's a scene where "cuck" is used extensively, in this case, short for cuckold, and meaning a weak/emasculated man. I managed to find the clip here:

https://www.bitchute.com/video/ipeMsfot07Oj/

Kinda crazy that I see this episode, and then there's a discussion of the word on this board today.

02/11/2018 - 2:07pm Is this a new thing for the

Is this a new thing for the selection committee to put out a projected bracket like this? Or have I just been asleep for the last 30 years?

Will be interesting to see how it actually pans out.

02/09/2018 - 11:29pm The only choices on the upper

The only choices on the upper west side concourse are nothing but god-awful Sodexo slop. The hot dogs are the worst ever. The bun is usually smashed so flat it may as well not even be there. Michigan could do so much better.

01/30/2018 - 4:58pm Buffalo Chicken Dip

I'll be making a crock pot of this yumminess because i've been craving it. One of my favorite things ever.

01/30/2018 - 4:54pm Thanks to this blog, I have

Thanks to this blog, I have become a huge fan of Lantana. Can't decide which is my fave... I'm leaning towards the yellow lentil one.

01/19/2018 - 11:40pm Love Odd Side. Their Nut

Love Odd Side. Their Nut Bandit was my top favorite at the Detroit Beer Fest in Eastern Market back in October.  Still waiting to eventually get my hands on Hipster Brunch.

01/19/2018 - 11:36pm Perrin FTW

Perrin's offerings that are available for purchase are indeed limited. But go to their brewey just north of GR, which is HUGE, and they have a ton of stuff on tap.  Their No Rules Vietnamese Porter is fantastic. Two years at the Mich Winter Beer Fest, they had a nitro version (15% ABV!) that was to die for. I also love their Cosmic Appartion (NEIPA). I find it better than M-43 which has been all the rage of late.

01/19/2018 - 11:27pm NEIPAs

I'm one that has always hated IPAs. But I tried a NEIPA for the first time (Defloured by Witch's Hat in South Lyon, MI) a while back and had to have more. M-43 is very good, but a little overhyped, IMO (it has gotten a LOT of hype, and the price tag for a 4-pak reflects that). If you come back, try to get your hands on the following, ranked in order of my favorites... again, just my opinion.

Perrin (near GR) Cosmic Apparition
Witch's Hat Defloured
Witch's Hat This Guy (Imperial version of Defloured - 8% ABV)
I'd put M-43 here in my ranking
Wolverine (A2) Shore Storm
Rochester MIlls Juice Bigalow Hop Gigolo
Griffin Claw (Birmingham) Nawt A Cawp  - the haziest of all of these

01/19/2018 - 11:12pm Bells v. Innovation Brewing

You're not mistaken. However, in filing the action, Bell's premise was that somehow, the beer-consuming public might confuse Innovation Brewing with one of two things: 1)  Bell's "Inspired Brewing" slogan (which, lol...wut?), or 2) a bumper sticker that says "Bottling innovation since 1985."

I have followed this case somewhat closely. It was filed in 2014 and dragged on until its recent conclusion. I grew up in NC, but have lived in A2 for 31 years now. I loved Bell's...especially Oberon... for a long time, but when I learned of this, it irritated me to no end. I can count exactly 3 times since then that I drank a Bell's beer... and only because nothing better was available wherever I was at those times.

In following this case, I reviewed a bunch of docs on the USPTO website that can be seen here. http://ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/v?pno=91215896&pty=OPP   The number of examples of others using the word "innovation" in their advertising is really large. Was Bell's going to go after all of them? Doubtful.

If Bell's can attempt to protect whatever they were trying to protect, why can't Innovation Brewing?  They can now register their name. Bell's can continue on their merry way, unaffected. The notion that any confusion between the two would ever occur is ridiculous. That Bell's was somehow trying to own the word "innovation"...even more so.

Btw, last year I was in NC for a family reunion. At my request, a cousin who lives near Innovation brought me a bottle of their Black Balsam Porter. It was fucking delicious. And oh boy, did it make me happy to drink it in my own personal protest.

Tonight's first half was just like the first half of Monday's game. Unfortunately, so was the second half. FML.

12/27/2017 - 11:28pm M-43

Not gonna hate on M-43, it's a tasty beer. But I've had several NEIPAs that I like better (all Michigan-brewed):

Witch's Hat - Defloured

Witch's Hat - This Guy

Wolverine - Shore Storm

Perrin - Cosmic Apparition

I'm glad. Wisconsin was turrible before they became good in the 1990s. Ever since then, Michigan-Wisconsin has been a pretty even series with many very competitive games. It's one of my favorite Big Ten matchups.

12/01/2017 - 5:46pm The whole state of Michigan

The whole state of Michigan kinda blew up today with this. Many stores had it. I got one at Busch's, another at Main St party store here in a2. I know people were lining up at Meijer (the only place that seemed to be allowing 2 per person). I got in on the ticketed release, so heading to GR this weekend to pick up 2 more.

12/01/2017 - 1:44pm I have Founders CBS

I attended ECU for undergrad in the 1980s, and I love how after all these years, the "B's vs. Parker's" debate still exists.  (FTR, I'm a Parker's guy.)

No 3:30 games at home this year. Feels weird.

09/22/2017 - 2:06pm Oh boy...can't wait

This will be perfect, since I just finished my annual pesto festival a couple weeks ago. A friend and I get together every year in August.... we pick up a half bushel of basil from Alexander's farm market out on Whitmore Lake Rd, and then appropriate amounts of the remaining ingredients. It all takes 2-3 hours, as the basil leaves must be plucked from the stems, washed, and dried. We have this down to a science. We could probably get done quicker... but there's drinking, of course. It's pesto fest! The result is enough pesto for each of us to last until next year's fest. A little goes a lon way, and it freezes really well.

Anyway.... always looking for new and creative ways to use pesto. This one looks outstanding.

09/15/2017 - 6:07pm Leave it alone

If the West is weak, then teams need to step the fuck up and get better.

09/05/2017 - 5:03pm ECU Pirates!
