"He's our boyfriend now!"
Recruiting is kinda icky sometimes.

Jaybaugh is the bomb.
well we know the recruit is a tight end, maybe the g/f is a real tight end, too.... and Jay likeeee!
I don't see a link? Can anyone help. Thanks.
What's going to happen when they break up in a month?
according to the letter, he talks about her a lot and she's special, so I'm thinking the relationship lasts until he leaves for school.
...but i find that i do not.
I would like this to stop immediately.
as bad as that hand written letter he gave/sent to Chris Clark. That was some seriously cringe worthy shit in my opinion.
I agree that wasn't the greatest either. And the setting of the table for the kid was going beyond as well. Didn't really work, obviously. At some point the recruits are going to get some bit of "dance for me clown" attitude. Hey let's see if I can get Harbaugh to send something to my girlfriend.
Anything to win, any effort expended. But I think you've got to be smart about it too, in terms of hurting your own "brand" (yes I dislike that term too after Brandon but couldn't think of anything better after 3 seconds of trying). I hate this even more than I did 10 minutes ago.

If there's one thing I know it's that high school relationships are long lasting and fruitful.
Strange.
I think it is kind of embarassing. Keep the girlfriends out of it.
Just plain creepy and awkward.
Are we sure it's really from him?
Are we sure she's a real person?

Is anything real?
just to say how much i hate this.
The out of state tuition is brutal.
This stuff happens way more often than people realize. Rarely does a letter go public though. You might be surprised.
Truth be told, I look at this stuff as kind of weird myself, but it's just part of what the game has become. With all the extra staffers/competition out there, you're not just trying to win the kid, but the family, the dog, everybody.
I think you're right. I seem to recall reading on several occasions, going back years, that coaches in the recruiting game try to influence girlfriends in addition to parents and coaches-- anyone who might provide an edge with the recruit. In fact, the best recruiters are renowned for getting close to people around the recruit. Not condoning it, because I hate recruiting in general (and I hate myself for being interested in it), but it happens all the time, I think.
Sorry but, creepy as shit
looks like a ransom note.

I don't care if it's weird so long as it works. Glad to see that Jay is as crazy as Jim is about Michigan football and competing.
