OSU hires RB coach Tony Alford from ND
Ohio State hired Notre Dame RB coach Tony Alford to replace Stan Drayton who left for the Bears RB job. Not sure how this affects Mike Weber but a good hire by OSU. Alford was ND's best recruiter (especially in Florida). Urban Meyer has now poached 3 assistants from Brian Kelly's ND staff since being hired at OSU in 2011. Notre Dame and Brian Kelly have now lost their 2 best recruiters this month.
Urban Meyer continues to make good hires. @CoachTonyAlford will be able to jump right in to recruiting, especially in Florida. Helps in SE

RT @Matt_Fortuna #NotreDame has now lost its meal ticket to Texas (Kerry Cooks) and Florida (Tony Alford) this week. Not easy to replace.

If ND was not in Weber's top 4, he must not have been very impressed with ND or Tony Alford. Don't see Alford being hired at OSU changes how Weber feels about the situation.

And.... it all got settled very quickly. Weber clearly wants to move forward.

Harbaugh's thought of the day:
Thought of the day - What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive! - Sir Walter Scott
— Coach Harbaugh (@CoachJim4UM) February 7, 2015
Has someone been talking to Weber????February 7th, 2015 at 12:50 PM ^
That is epic. I can't see too many CFB coaches whipping that quote out.
February 7th, 2015 at 12:51 PM ^
...if this was Meyer trolling Harbaugh and Michigan.
We'd all have an issue with it.
But whatever, part of the rivalry is some ribbing. If you don't like it, go be a fan of Switzerland.
February 7th, 2015 at 12:55 PM ^
Let's be real:
Meyer would never have quoted Sir Walter Scott in the first place.
February 7th, 2015 at 6:58 PM ^
Riiiiiiiiight...Like JH is such a brainiac. A guy that gets run out of every job he's had due to a lact of any kind of tact doesn't usually quote Sir Walter Scott...Wonder who really posted that.
Love that you guys think we care about the tweet. We find it as entertining as watching you guys try to find anything to hang your hats on these days.
Did you see Pantoni's response tweet?
It went something like this:
THE Ezekial Elliott
THE Ohio State Buckeyes
THE UNDISPUTED NATIONAL CHAMPS
(This being on the cover of THE Sports Illustrated)
Go Bucks
February 7th, 2015 at 7:10 PM ^
Really? That's the best you have?
I guess you're okay with faking heart attacks, sleeping with co-eds, lying to recruits, and breaking the Florida program and letting his players run wild and that's just to start with. Harbaugh could go to any program he wanted, professional or college. I don't see anyone really knocking at Urban Myth's door.
Oh....and Bucknuts don't care about the tweet? You apparently cared enough to come seeking out a Michigan board, signed up for an account , just to post that?
Thanks for showing us how much you don't care.
I love the smell of buckeye fear.

response. Of course, it doesn't deal with the commentary. It doesn't deal with the tweet directly, It just says what Buckeyes always say when stumped, and caught because the facts don't make much of a case plausible, we are The Ohio State.
If you need to put an object lesson in every idenifying remark about your school, you are pretty insecure and feeling mighty guilty. You are what you are, a school that feels the need to defend how it misled a tennager in order to claim superiority as a football power. Wow, you are special. Does that make you feel better?

Thanks for this important insider information. Here are some other facts we should all know:
• The moon landings were faked
• A secret underground base near Dulce, New Mexico houses aliens who are experimenting on humans
• The government is suppressing technology to harness quantum vacuum zero point energy
• John F. Kennedy and Mariiyn Monroe are alive and living together in a nursing home in Argentina

For years now coaches have thrown jabs at Michigan and Hoke,RR,Carr rarely if ever jabbed back..I respected them for their class and staying true to their personality but for that same reason i love Harbaugh throwing this little jab...Its his personality and i like it..game on
February 7th, 2015 at 1:29 PM ^
I don't give a damn what OSU fans think about me, Michigan or anything related. It's a rivalry, you're not supposed to like me and I damn sure am not going to like you. Harbaugh can take jabs all he wants, and OSU fans will complain because they know it's true.
Just don't say some dumb shit about laying in the weeds and he's okay in my book.

^^ I can't see too many CFB coaches actually taking the time to tweet on a regular basis... unless your name is Jim Mora Jr (re: Maea Teuhema). Usually there is a social media coordinator doing all of this on their behalf, just like most "celebrity" social media accounts.
The bottom line is the rivalry is back and healthy. Thank God for both sides that it is not Lloyd Carr/John Cooper.... or Jim Tressel/Lloyd Carr/Rich Rod. I think the Harbaugh/Meyer war will re-establish the rivalry as the best in CFB. Two coaches with rather large egos and a proven track record of being winners at all stops. Just sit back and enjoy.

Michigan offered him in January, but it was just way too late in the game. Feel bad for these kids, but he looks to be handling it OK.
