OT: Bills v. Jets in Detroit?
http://www.freep.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2014/11/20/buffalo-bills-sn…
Maybe they'll do the free tix like they did when the Vikings played here back in 2010.

Not only is Buffalo well-versed in huge snowstorms, but the whole Buffalo metro area also has over 1 million people, which is 3 times more people than all of the U.P. combined even though the U.P. is 10 times larger in size. Despite having many more resources, I think they have a lot more to deal with in regards to the effects of this storm in Buffalo than any place in the U.P. could ever imagine.

That storm's only been responsible for 8 deaths. Toughen up, you Buffalo pussies!

The 72 inches of snow in Buffalo is 62% of the average annual TOTAL snowfall in Marquette, Michigan (of 117)
November 20th, 2014 at 10:55 PM ^
Go east of Marquette (Munising and beyond), northwest of Marquette (Huron Mtns. or Keweenaw) and the snow totals increase substantially. 250"+ has been broached many times over the past 10 years in these locations. But 72/250 is still a shit-ton of snow percentage for one storm (30%), so your point still stands!

and have a good back the Bills are offering to pay people $10.00/hr to help shovel out thier stadiums. If I was in college, I would make the trip and work as much as possible to earn a few hundered dollars!
November 20th, 2014 at 2:54 PM ^
...and how would you plan on getting there through the 9ft of snow?
November 20th, 2014 at 3:30 PM ^
Or at least that's what they said on the early NYC news this morning. (Offer obviously directed at Bills fans. Don't know if the Jets fans are driving up for the game, much less shoveling.)

have photos taken of themselves posing with scantily-clad women who could be their daughters?
I suspect it's these men saying "Hey, I still got it.Why just look at me with these babes! I could TOTALLY give em' a ride on the bone rollercoaster if I wanted to."
November 20th, 2014 at 5:07 PM ^
It's not creepy! It's cultural!
November 20th, 2014 at 8:28 PM ^
I'm in good shape. May be you have a paunch and are jealous!

are big Michigan fans, the one on my left was our (me and my wife's) waitress and her sister thought it was neat to have a Michigan fan at their sports bar, since this sports bar is far from Michigan. When I told them I graduated from Michigan they wanted their picture with me. As I was standing there, two of their friends, who were waitresses jumped in the picture. My wife took one picture for both of the girls who are Michigan fans and my wife took this picture.

I'd love to see the treatment Schwartz gets from the Detroiters

Maybe he can beg the Bills to carry him off the field on their shoulders if they win... again
November 20th, 2014 at 4:06 PM ^
That was such a dick move...
November 20th, 2014 at 4:22 PM ^
I think it was more an extremely pathetic move than a dick move. How low do you have to be to ask, before the game, for your team to carry you off the field if you win (while in a demoted role), against the team that fired you because you sucked as a head coach?

Wheatley (Sr.) will be there to protect him.
November 20th, 2014 at 2:55 PM ^
This is great! I've been waiting for an opportunity to see Thurman Thomas and Browning Nagle play live.

Don't worry Buffalo residents, global warming will have all that snow melted by Sunday.
November 20th, 2014 at 7:48 PM ^
Its supposed to be 50 on Sunday and 57 on Monday. Everyones worried about snow now, they're going to have to worry about severe flooding in a few days.
Imagine 7 freakin feet of snow melting. Build your arks

My wife is a huge Jets fan and would drag me down to this game for sure.

shit, I'll go

Strap on snorkels and get after it.
November 20th, 2014 at 3:36 PM ^
It would be much more interesting and fun to watch if they left the snow on the field.
November 20th, 2014 at 3:46 PM ^
Put some 9 year old kids on the roster and tell them to tunnel to the left side. Running back "hitting the hole" has a whole new meaning.
November 20th, 2014 at 3:36 PM ^
As we have seen before, if you're playing as it is snowing ,you tend to go with your ground game more often than not, but since it has already fallen in this photo, you may just need to pass all day unless your RB happens to BE a road commission plow. I guess it would depend on which aspect of your offense you felt more comfortable deploying for 60-ish snaps.
November 20th, 2014 at 3:36 PM ^
You know what we call that here in the UP? When that much snows falls in a couple of days?
I'll tell you what we call it.
A fucking light dusting that's what we call it. And here's a picture from the front of my house in the UP and I took it LAST AUGUST right before I went swimming you pansy-asses

For those of you who know the area, my friend tells me that Transit Avenue has been closed for three days. That's a huge road that runs through a bunch of suburbs (and near the Stadium and Airport). He also just sent me this:

That basket is only 7'5. Not impressed.

I drove up and down Transit yesterday till I came across National Guard Humvees. That road is mostly clear. The real road snare is that all the freeways (I-90,190,290) are mostly closed.

The heavier lake effect snow bands are farther south-southwest from Lake View down to Dunkirk.
November 20th, 2014 at 9:59 PM ^
That is why I linked Buffalo.
November 20th, 2014 at 10:27 PM ^
Is south of Baffalo and gets more snow! That is where the stadium is located.

The most I've ever seen at once was several years back while in Utah for a ski trip. I was staying down in SLC, but overnight, they got 40+ inches in the Cottonwood Canyons where the resorts are. However, you've still got to drive like 10 miles through the mountains to get up there. So I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make it in the little, compact Toyota I rented.
But to my surprise, those roads were pristine. It seemed as if they hadn't gotten any snow, let alone 3-4 feet. Gotta say, those people in Utah sure as hell know how to plow.

MGoBoard: where people are so tired of talking about shitty football that they will argue about shitty snowfall.

took my wife and kids to the giants vikings game years ago. Had a great time.
We are Eli fans here, so that helped. I can't say I give a fuck about anyone on buffalo or the jets but I will still go.
