Dave Brandon sends snarky email back to alum
Ed-Ace: Did some digging on this and while I haven't been able to get my hands on the original email, I can confirm that if real it is from December of 2013 or earlier, not last weekend. Doesn't change the content of the email, of course, but it does change the context.
Just some background here, my friend comes from a family of Michigan alums. Her aunt who is an alum had enough of this garbage so she decided to speak up.
She sent a very respectful email to Dave Brandon that was well-written on their families' opinion of the job he is doing and she said that they no longer were season ticket holders.
This is by no means a fake. This is his actual email which I have confirmed on here before, as has another poster when he posted a story about DB snapping back at him.
She thought I should pass this along and I found this very interesting given the interview coming out today.
I guess we found out those more important things that Dave had to do...
When asked why he didn't address questions sooner: "Frankly, I've been busy doing things that I think are frankly more important." — Brandon

EDIT: Apologies! I originally posted the photo from a direct message on twitter but I've uploaded it onto another site.

You've got some sick vendetta against Dave Brandon, making multiple DB bashing threads a day, you accused him of forcing athletes to tweet in support of him, now this? Give it a rest man.

It's well known I'm no DB fan, but it really is amazing how quickly WD has turned on Hoke and Brandon. Like, how many times can this kid post "fuck Brandon" and his goofy DB hype video and still be taken seriously? Now this?

I've always thought something was very suspicious about that account in general.

Frankly I think this is fake.

Even if the originial email was crude and rude all he needed to do was delete and move on. I, as a lowly worker at UMHS am expected to bite my tongue. A man making 100x what I am making ought to be expected to do the same.

Can anyone confirm this is valid beyond a picture? It isn't very hard to fake an email header, and this seems like the definition of trolling.

To: [email protected] Dear Ms. Sellinger, This is an official Freedom of Information Act request for a complete email chain, including the email described below, which I will call EMAIL ONE, the email sent from the email address to which it was directed as a response, and any other FOIA-accessible email related to it via the common reply or forwarding email functions. I also hereby request any email originating from [email protected] containing the phrase "have a happy life" and any email originating from [email protected] containing the phrase "without you". I believe EMAIL ONE originated from [email protected]. I believe the content of EMAIL ONE to be, at least in part, the following: I suggest you find a new team to support. > We will be fine without you. > Have a happy life... Please confirm receipt of this FOIA request at your earliest convenience. Thank for your prompt attention, Professor [Jon06] (AB '06, MA [xx], Ph.D [xx])

That will be $232.40, in administrative costs, please.
October 2nd, 2014 at 8:59 PM ^
That's funny because I just so happen to have $232.40.
I also have the president's email address, and if they come back asking for exorbitant fees, I'll use it to ask him what he thinks I'll find if I decide to pay them.

Professor Jo(h)n Bacon??
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:00 PM ^
Bacon is a lecturer rather than a professor. (I assume he doesn't want to be a professor, because it would be obviously stupid for UM to fail to have hired him as a professor if he were interested in the full gig.)

Just spend a few decades aging and then waste a lot of time Googling random stuff. (I.e., become a graduate student.)

HA! "Become a grad student". Nice.

I don't know what you're talking about. While we're posting emails we've definitely gotten though:

Confirmed: Milksteak is Justin Verlader.
You better not fuck up pitching tomorrow.

Ah, the "go root for another team" response. Dave Brandon would fit in well here on the MGoBlog board. I can't count how many times I've been told that over the course of the past 12 months for being critical and questioning of our staff.

Mods please delete, there's nothing to see here.
October 2nd, 2014 at 9:02 PM ^
Okay, Dave.
October 2nd, 2014 at 9:04 PM ^
Hah cmon, I want him gone too. Er, myself. But there's nothing worthwhile about arguing about what looks like a photoshop.

Please find a new athletic department to ruin. We will be fine without you. Have a chocolate lava cake....

is Dave Brandon has great connections in the business world. This is how the business world talks, he can connect with them and rake in glorious donations for the University.
The real cash cow is Dave Brandon and his fundraising ability.
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:17 PM ^
I think any AD could fund raise here at Michigan. Brandon's business connections/experience have nothing to do with it.
October 2nd, 2014 at 8:56 PM ^
Brian is paying for the FOIA request, per twitter.
Too bad it will take approximately six years.
October 2nd, 2014 at 9:02 PM ^
Tweet him that it's already been FOIA'd and to check this thread, will you? I don't twit.

I have gotten similar emails before from Brandon, over even smaller complaints than not renewing season tickets.
And yes, that's his email.
And yes, I got that email from a mutual contact. It's a legitimate email.
October 2nd, 2014 at 9:45 PM ^
You think you would no better based on the 150+ other posts in this thread.
C'mon man. And that's to all the other people saying this is true, with no one offering up one shred of truth.

It was horrible. Maybe it has improved, but it was the second worst pizza I have ever had.(UMHS cafeteria is first by a mile)
October 2nd, 2014 at 9:45 PM ^
And when Dave Brandon leaves Michigan, Michigan will be good again too!
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:04 PM ^
It isn't. It's a slight improvement over the old cardboard cutout of a pizza they used to sell, but the crust is still below average, even compared to other chains, and the toppings are meh. I was excited to try it back when they revamped the product (I'm a pizza geek, sue me) but man, that was a letdown.
