Coaching search crowdsourcing
Let's see if we can make this work. I'll post potential coaching candidates, one per reply to the OP. Upvote/downvote based on whether you would want them to be coach (not feasibility). Reply to the post with the coach's name to discuss that person.

I'm down. After all, you already know how to wear that Playstation headset so the transition would be easy.

Jim Harbaugh

I Black Socks of limited resources hereby commit to giving $200 to pay for Harbaugh's salary. How much will you give?

It would probably be another devastating transition though. Slowww manball to spread again

Lance Leopold.
Lance Leopold - 50 years old - old enough to have the proper experience, young enough to stick around for the long term.
Head Coach Wisconsin/Whitewater for the last seven years. W/L 95-6. W% .941
5 National Championships in seven years, 1 Runner up. Playoff record 29-1. Worst year he finished 10-3 for half of his career losses in one year, won 95 games. I would take that.
Nebraska Assisstant for two years 2001-03.
He works at a small college, but his results are indisputable.
O.S.U. hired Tressel from a similar, but not as spectacular background, and how did that work for them for ten years ?
In my humble opinion, this man is the best man for this job.

And we probably won't get Miles or a Harbaugh, either one of the three. We cannot stand pat. So why not take a chance on a guy like Leopold ? He certainly can't be any worse then what we have now, and judging by his track record, he might be just the guy to bring us back. If O.S.U. had considered Tressel a non-starter, they might still have John Cooper as coach, or worse, be where we are now.

He could end up working out, but I don't think Michigan could afford to take a "chance" on any hire right now. Another bad coach selection and this program is wrecked for a very, very long time.

Dan Mullen

I actually like Dan Mullen a lot. His team is rolling right now at a school that is hard to win at. He's also proven that he can win quickly. Plus he has midwest ties and was a former Urban Meyer assistant.

He's just propping up what Harbaugh built and that's slowly fading. The real genius behind Stanford is coaching the 49ers

Prediction, Jim Harbaugh wins in a landslide. John will be 2nd or Miles will be 2nd, the other will be 3rd. Etc. A popularity contest without feasability is pretty easy to predict.
What would be more interesting is put out a list of 20 names and have various MGoBloggers due to the homework on each. Outside of those names, people who are nfl geeks can go find some assistants 98% of us have never heard of and write their case. Then some NCAA geeks who know assistants outside of the Kirby Smarts and Narduzzis and same recylced names could write case studies for their candidates. Then we could post them all here.
Then I guess since the AD does nothing but call personal friends as football candidates as part of his multi month "search", put all our entries in PDF form and email to dave MF brandon who Stephen Ross is in love with apparently.
