Fr. punt returners don't usually work out well. Hopefully he lives up to they hype and saves the big return for a big opponent

Took his first punt return to the house, I believe.
It's the one against Northwestern at home listed above.

What a beginning to an amazing career!
Hmmm, I think there is another, more recent, exciting Michigan player who also took his first touch as a Michigan Man to the endzone. Who could that be?
Anyone, anyone?
:)

If I remember right, AC took a punt to the house his first game as a freshman.

My favorite part of this is still the guy to the left
"......Where are my pants.....was I wearing pants when I got here?.....Did someone take them?"

I know people love Northfleet but the last returner we had that got me excited was Breaston. Here's to hoping Peppers can take one to the house!

What happened to Ondre Pipkins. It seemed like he was playing really well before his injury.
August 22nd, 2014 at 7:51 PM ^
Glasgow had a better practice than him today. End of story in Hoke speak.
Tomorrow the starters "if we had a game today" could be Hurst and Wormley.

The first contact drill day, like 5 or 6 days into camp, Hoke said they were limiting his reps to ease him back in. That's only two weeks ago, so it's probably still the case. Those were his first contact reps since his injury so it makes sense they're being careful with him. Big guys tend to need more time to recover completely from ACLs than fast skill guys.

SPICY!

Not surprised with Glasgow on the DL...lot of solid reports regarding him and not to mention Pipkins probably still working his way back from his ACL.
All in all with the rotation on the DL it should be fresh guys constantly hopefully creating pressure.

Pretty exciting to have a talented kid like that bringing some electricity to the return game! When was the last time we returned one for a TD? Must have been Breaton, right? And Stonum vs ND on a KR.
August 22nd, 2014 at 8:01 PM ^
The last true punt return that wasn't a blocked kick ran back was by Martavious Odoms in 2008 at Purdue.
The last kickoff return for a TD was Stonum in 2009 vs ND. Michigan has only had two kickoff returns for a TD in the 21st century.

Now this stat is really hard to believe. We are overdue for some electricity in the return game. And once again WD, thanks for all of your incredible stat posts...much appreciated.

But here's my question: on the last play of last year's Iron Bowl, does that count as a punt return or a kick return? Or both??

to make a player a punt returner or a kick returner. I would imagine a kick return is a lot more dangerous?
August 23rd, 2014 at 7:23 AM ^
the role of the nose in this defense is to be stout and occupy blockers, allowing the LB's to have a clean shot at the RB. i remember hearing earlier that glasgow was very good at this. the 2 interior line spots are going to be a revolving door of good players. fatigue will never be an issue for this defense.
