If there’s any truth to him not cooperating, it could have come from that
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:16 PM ^
Not true as all. It’s always preferable for a company to have an employee resign vs. firing them. Resignation means no unemployment or wrongful termination lawsuits.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:21 PM ^
Yeah, I don't really understand why he would resign and not make them fire him. The only reason I can think of is, well, he hasn't necessarily always made the best decisions.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:15 PM ^
Let's not forget he's a huge Michigan fan and wanted to win and get ahead so bad that he resorted to this, which was to help us, though it crossed a bad.line, the emotion and intentions wasnt bad, just stupid the way it was done. And he was probably at CMU to help them beat MSU and I have no problem with that after the collusion between Tressel and Dantonio, lest you wanna forget those 15 years of crap we had because of it. Collusion within a conference! Think about that. Ok so, Stalions got caught and lost his job and rightfully so.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:22 PM ^
I don't have ill will toward him.
You don't question some of his decision making, okay. Not interested in that debate tbh.
Edit: Either I'm losing my mind or you edited and toned down your reply, which, cool. Same answer as above though.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:19 PM ^
Probably semantics. Sometimes people are given the ‘resign or be fired’ ultimatum
I call this "quit-fired"...
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:39 PM ^
Seems appropriate. Didn't want to take down his Precious.
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:39 PM ^
He was probably forced to resign.
i also wonder is the big ten going to turn the refs on us worst than they’ve already been?
is cyan day gonna be cryin to the refs cuz it’s not fair?
November 4th, 2023 at 2:26 AM ^
You think the media is licking its chops now. Pull down a "OSU hires PI firm to dig dirt/Big Ten encourages refs to call against UofM" double header and it would be an all out madhouse. SEC and ESPN would have erections for months.

TomVH also backs up Nicole with his reporting
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:42 PM ^
You can tell who is on the UM text group (probably from Ablauf). Notice how Thamel and Dellenger have had nothing tonight?
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:38 PM ^
That's because Ryan Day hasn't had anything to tell them.
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:42 PM ^
So much for what's his name and his insider information. The media circus surrounding this is a joke.
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:43 PM ^
Well, I would imagine this was like many corporate discussions had over the years, where they probably present someone with the possibility of resigning and the alternative is, of course, a sacking.
Even so, I would like the University to keep his parking space as-is in memoriam of his hustle.
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:50 PM ^
Not with a low-level staffer. A staffer would just be canned. The courtesy of being given an opportunity to resign is typically reserved for higher-ups.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:02 PM ^
True, but nothing about this entire thing has been typical.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:08 PM ^
Perhaps this is an unusual case. Is unusual the correct term? Maybe Bat shit crazy? Bizarre? Low level staffer who is now a household name? Evil genius? Lovable dumbass? No precedence here. None.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:23 PM ^
Not necessarily especially in this sort of case where the likelihood of litigation from multiple ends is high
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:30 PM ^
You keep repeating this post, we see your opinion. I tend to disagree, because in almost all cases it’s better for a resignation… but in this situation, no doubt resignation is preferred from a future exposure standpoint—for UM that is.
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:43 PM ^
Great this is over. Hope the kids have some good clean fun tomorrow night.
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:44 PM ^
Hoping he's a good soldier and keeps his mouth shut. Clearly he's a psycho fan and his scheme was of his own creation, but hard to believe others weren't at least suspicious or aware (fully aware? Hoke) of his activities.
Dude needs to fall on the sword.

There most likely was a NDA they had him sign in exchange for letting him "resign"....
The discussion kinda goes like this...
"Connor, you put the Team and University in a very poor spotlight... You have a choice here, either sign this NDA and you can resign or we can you can you and good luck ever getting another gig in football again.... Aside from being an assistant coach for your Dad on the 8th grade team...."
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:33 PM ^
He is probably never getting another gig in college football again regardless, that was one thing that was a near certainty immediately when this broke.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:51 PM ^
Which is actually crazy (but true) because guys like Petrino and Durkin are still coaching. And their overall effects on other people’s lives is infinite compared to what Stallions did
November 4th, 2023 at 2:29 AM ^
Neither did what they did on a U of M sideline. So its not really important.
-NCAA
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:20 PM ^
Sure he will. Give it 3 years. People forget and forgive. I heard the same thing about Durkin and they were wrong.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:05 PM ^
Contrary opinion. I hope he sings like a canary, especially if other schools are involved. And hopefully to demonstrate he was a lone wolf at M.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:13 PM ^
Exactly what I said in another thread. Hopefully he spills the beans about all of his counterparts in all of the other schools.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:16 PM ^
Why do you say that? What do you think should have tipped people off?
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:45 PM ^
"Be here for a meeting discussing your case"
"Nah I'll save everyone time and just quit since we all know what's going to happen ".
This happens all the time. Just happened at my job last month.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:10 PM ^
Yup, mine to
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:48 PM ^
Next year he will be back but with a better disguise.
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:52 PM ^
A fake nose and a mustache?
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:23 PM ^
Hi, my name is Conan Mustangs.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:24 PM ^
Yep...
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:48 PM ^
That's great, it starts with an earthquake, Buckeyes are snakes, and Sparty complains but Santa Ono is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, this makes my stomach churn, media serves its own needs, don’t mis-serve your own needs…
It’s the end of the world as we know it, it’s the end of the world as we know it! And I feel fine!
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:50 PM ^
"Connor Stalions resigned his position with Michigan Athletics this afternoon," the school said in a prepared statement. "We are unable to comment further regarding this personnel matter."
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:11 PM ^
You’re a weird dude, Vlad
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:19 PM ^
I'm really not
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:26 PM ^
Or really hot. Cue the post covid vaccine picture that upset so many.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:38 PM ^
He's like the rest of us, but not scared to show it.
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:51 PM ^
Well, there's resignations, and then there's "resignations"...
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:53 PM ^
Reading the Tweet, it appears he quit rather than assist any investigation. His version of jumping on the grenade.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:04 PM ^
I mean at least it can be documented that he wasn’t fired for cause or fired as an admission of guilt for him or Michigan.
As he is no longer an employee, he is no longer contractually obligated to comply with university or NCAA stipulations or requests.
As long as Stalions and his minions don’t make A Million Little pieces-style confession, this is now squarely Harbaugh/Ono/UM vs NCAA/B1G/who the fuck ever wants some. Submit the evidence or fuck off.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:24 PM ^
Don’t they already have his computer or is that bullshit?
November 3rd, 2023 at 8:56 PM ^
Go Blue, Connor...go scout OSU and create a YouTube channel with their signs.
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:12 PM ^
LOL that would be awesome. Barstool has offered him a job. Maybe he can go around the country blowing up teams signs for a living
November 3rd, 2023 at 9:24 PM ^
Ya if Zach Smith, who threw his pregnant girl down the stairs, has a YouTube channel I'm sure CS can too.
