Honestly I don't think there is much to learn from the INT other than, "Hey, uh, don't do that." That throw was very out-of-character for him.

Donovan Edwards = WAR DADDY
Gets over 90% of the snaps with one hand - and easily wins the MVP
December 4th, 2022 at 12:10 AM ^
Brian was right all along.
1. Cornelius Johnson
2. RB Kalel Mullings
December 4th, 2022 at 12:24 AM ^
I don't think one big game from Cornelius Johnson makes Brian right about him... no matter how much he brings it up on the podcasts.
December 4th, 2022 at 7:32 AM ^
Not yet.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:32 AM ^
Johnson was completely invisible tonight.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:48 AM ^
He had a catch early

Johnathon James Mccarthy.

DE is awesome. Mullins is looking like a good back who is going to get better with more practice. Cannot believe he played that well without much reps. JJ can make plays when needed. I loved that he took some chances. Some worked and one did not work. That is ok. He is the X factor and will be the reason for us to win it all, if we were to win it all. 4 weeks of practice is going to be awesome. Can't wait to see what happens. I have a slight hope BC comes back. But happy with who they have now. Have to say Purdue played heck of a game. O'Connell is a warrior. Can't say that about Stroud.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:21 AM ^
Certainly an eyebrow raiser given that Stokes appeared to be the third-placed guy. Mullings is the short yardage back now, and it matters now Blake is out.
December 4th, 2022 at 7:40 AM ^
First time we've had notable fullback carries in a while. Maybe since hammering panda?
December 4th, 2022 at 9:21 AM ^
Moving Mullings from linebacker to running back will never work! Look at what happened to Hassan Haskins when they tried to do that.

I’m confident in Michigan’s ability to out-physical 2 of the 3 teams they may face in the playoff. Think (unlike last year) they’ll need to come up with a better plan for Georgia.
December 4th, 2022 at 5:35 PM ^
If Michigan wins it all they could very well beat 4 of the top 7 teams in the final rankings. That is kind of crazy.
#ucla #sos #pearlsclutched
Put me in the camp that the freshman and 2nd/3rd teamers getting deep minutes was extremely important.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:12 AM ^
JJ versus Donovan for the 2023 Heisman is going to be lit.
December 4th, 2022 at 7:41 AM ^
I like where your head is at. Though I am still very excited for this year.
December 4th, 2022 at 8:35 AM ^
This year.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:13 AM ^
I don't think it will matter in the CFP, but they try to close out games against inferior opponents using 2 pages of the playbook, and all of the 3rd and 7s it leads to suck to watch from an emotional standpoint.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:39 AM ^
That is exactly right. This team has another gear against good teams. The two teams they respected are PSU and OSU and their gameplan showed. I am sure they will leave it all on the field during the playoff. Can't wait.
December 4th, 2022 at 7:42 AM ^
Nah it is good to see them cut their teeth and try those challenging scenarios. You don't want your first real test to be against Georgia.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:14 AM ^
So much to like about this team. If they can just get these WRS doing more, it will be Michigan vs Georgia for all the marbles
December 4th, 2022 at 7:43 AM ^
I don't mind the passing offense running through our TE. Healthy Schoon and Loveland will be a menace.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:15 AM ^
JJ, Bell, Edwards, both tight ends and that bad ass O line were all great.

STFU pine butt pesto
December 4th, 2022 at 12:22 AM ^
You see those other numbers? The ones with yards per pass/rush? Those tend to matter more.
But some people always find something to complain about.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:28 AM ^
I'll admit I was a bit concerned with Purdue's ability to move the ball up and down the field. HOWEVA, they couldn't execute when it counted.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:22 AM ^
That’s an effect of the air raid offense. Very few big plays; lots of dinks and dunks. It works great between the 20s and bogs down in the red zone. Which is… exactly what Purdue did, and exactly why Michigan allowed them to do it.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:29 AM ^
Yes. Purdue and Ohio play a somewhat similar style, at least in the regard you mentioned. Georgia will be an entirely different test.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:43 AM ^
O'Connell is just that good and that is the way Purdue plays. The other reason being we are +1 on turnovers. Points is the best stat. These stats are misleading as we had too many big plays compared to Purdue. Purdue was a dink and dunk offense and it showed today. They were successful but could not execute when needed most, in the Red Zone -- Difference between great team and a good team.
December 4th, 2022 at 1:17 AM ^
Remember, the only stats that matter is the final score.
December 4th, 2022 at 2:00 AM ^
Michigan did better on the ones matter. The score :)
Also Purdue went on a lot many drives without showing much for it. That counts in the score columns as well.
December 4th, 2022 at 7:46 AM ^
Held them to FG on five separate drives.
December 4th, 2022 at 3:45 AM ^
Michigan averaged 7.9 yards per play, and Purdue 6.6 yards per play. Not that 6.6 is particularly good from a defensive perspective, but Michigan did clearly do more with fewer plays.
December 4th, 2022 at 8:30 AM ^
Scoreboard is the most important stat and it looks pretty good.
December 4th, 2022 at 8:42 AM ^
Jim Harbaugh - Which stat is the most over-rated stat? All of them, except the score.
You forgot to circle time of possession.
The plan to stop passing teams is to keep the ball in front of you and NOT let them beat you with big plays and then stop them in the red zone.
December 4th, 2022 at 11:55 AM ^
“Except the score “
Tell that to groveling Nick Saban…
December 4th, 2022 at 12:18 AM ^
I still think it's weird that so many receivers disappear for such long stretches, but I was so happy for Ronnie Bell to catch that touchdown pass. He has been through so much here.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:19 AM ^
Here to shout out our OL. They are the backbone of our offensive success!
December 4th, 2022 at 12:20 AM ^
Would have liked to get CJ Stokes more carries but I guess Kalel is 2nd slash 3rd string RB now
December 4th, 2022 at 12:24 AM ^
It’s clear they don’t trust him with blocking.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:32 AM ^
He’ll get better at it.
But Dunlap and Gash come in as a third down backs and that basically tells you everything right now.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:20 AM ^
Played a great second half against a game Purdue team. JJ threw a lot of great passes. Guys made several tough catches and C. Loveland's TD catch was epic. Donovan was brilliant. Offensive line was terrific. 13 & 0 , Big10 Champs repeat is fantastic accomplishment. Well done Michigan football !!
December 4th, 2022 at 12:22 AM ^
Donovan Edwards has a beautiful voice.
December 4th, 2022 at 5:46 PM ^
I deserve all the down votes but I got to say it. Is he trolling us by acting like a character off of Idiocracy? I just think he is spoofing us. Love him either way and shame on me.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:25 AM ^
Olu is turning Michigan into OL U!
December 4th, 2022 at 12:29 AM ^
Running game did what it normally does. Donovan Edwards is an absolute superstar
Honestly I thought JJ played well today apart from the one bad INT.
December 4th, 2022 at 6:18 PM ^
If he had 200 yards more passing and 3 less touchdowns he could be as good as Purdue's QB.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:31 AM ^
It would have been nice to see the offensive line break down the Purdue defense earlier, but, given the 20-minute commercial breaks after touchdowns - they could serve evening tea and crumpets between possessions, send the players into the locker room for treatments, sauna, naps. I've seen cricket test matches that were shorter than that commercial marathon.
Interception aside, that 43 was a season-high total against Purdue's defense, and a solid overall effort.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:33 AM ^
Enviable depth at RB. Donovan is coming into his own. Good plays by Bell, Schoon, and Loveland. O Line mashing faces in yet another 2nd half. The staff must've seen Seth's charting and my posts about Mullings. Good to see him becoming a mooseback, fulfilling his destiny.
JJ's ill-advised "heat check" INT throw was one blemish. Hard to nitpick a three-touchdown win in a game to go 13-0. Only the most delusional Michigan fans are distraught during games like these.
