See I thought his name was pronounced "beagle" but all these bagel references have me confused.
It would be "beagle" if the i and the e were backwards.
In German, the ei = "aye" sound, like in bagel. ie= "eee" sound, like in piece.
Just had a fantastic bagel with lox, cream cheese, capers, and tomatoes at Russ & Daughters in NY. Hold the onion. Long live the bagel/Beigel.
My wife had a co-worker who had never been to NY and upon his first visit mentioned something to her about seeing places everywhere that had “boggles.”

New York City bagels...yeah, I do miss them so. Bagels up here are either rolls with holes in the middle or Montreal-style, which, no.
I've lived all over the country, and kept hearing New Yorkers insist that "New York City" bagels are not only the best, they're almost a different and better food.
However, having lived in New York for a long time, it now seems to me the claim was always some of the usual civic chauvinism found in all large cities and most medium sized ones.
After all, look at the evidence. What are now boasted as "New York City" bagels are virtually wagon wheels, easily twice the size of NYC bagels in decades gone by.
I'm just going to pretend I didn't read this.
Sorry, Blue Vet, but NY bagels are the best bagels.
No one else can get the entire balance of the taste and texture right. It's a combination of the process and NY water.
That being said, Jersey Bagels in the Birmingham/Bloomfield area is pretty good.
As is Bubbie's Bagels in Traverse City. Bubbe's might be the closest I've had to an NY bagel.
Hey, let's not forget one of the few parts of Canada that has culture! Montreal's bagels are on par with NY's, though they're different animals.
Good place in Skokie, outside Chicago, called New York Bagel & Bialy. They bake them in the back all day so they're still warm when you get them. The only downside is you have to buy them whole -- no cutting, toasting or shmearing. But they have good cream cheese and passable lox to go. The egg bagels are fantastic.
I hope we keep getting continued success from all of these international players.

Imagine the possibilities if we can develop an interior Dline presence as scary as the edges. For a long time it seems as if it has been one or the other at an elite level. Is it greedy to hope for both at the same time?

I know they came out flat against FSU but I think that was more of a case of shaking off the let down of losing to OSU and coming out firing in the 2nd half. The 2016 Michigan team will always be an unfortunate tale of "what-if".

Yeah, that's a close one. Could be a good debate for years to come. Edges definitely better on the 2021 version, interior better in 2016 and very close overall.
These international recruits make sense for the program right now, seeing as NIL is a non-factor.

Clearly these are guys UM has identified early and believe can make the transition from overseas competition to high-level P5 play, and given the strength of this staff I'm inclined to believe them. I do wonder if they try to bulk a couple of the edge guys to play more inside.

So I guess Elston is on vacay in Europe and he’s just handing out scholarships wherever he’s visiting. Tomorrow it will be a DL from Switzerland and Monday an edge from Italy.
LOL. At the rate we are going, we may have a first line or second line full of international players. Imagine all of them panning out. It will be the best out of the box idea to combat NIL.
