uhhh, i was holding it for a friend?
Is it really that bad?
I believe it's not actually illegal to have an automatic weapon as long as it is registered and has the appropriate tax stamp. That does require him to be the owner of record, though. An owner can lend it to someone, but I'm not sure they're actually allowed to lend it to someone and have it be significantly NOT in their vicinity. There are rules.
I KNOW you can go to some gun ranges and fire full auto weapons. But I've not checked into them personal ownership other than I don't believe youre allowed to manufacture or import them. I'm fairly certain it's legal to buy one if someone is selling it. Again, with the appropriate registration and tax stamp.
If it's fully auto and has a clip over 10, it's illegal in CA.
Unless it was registered to the CURRENT OWNER, no, you cannot transfer ownership or pass it thru a will, before 1986. Probably before Frank, I beat the crap out of my old lady in front of her kids, Clark was born.
Just grow up and admit that guy had no business with what he had.
And who cares what the weapon was, concealed is concealed..
as an attorney who has taught firearms law before, it is most likely that he is charged with a weapons possession charge because his prior convictions disallow him to possess a firearm. Most Uzis sold in the US are semi auto pistols and not fully auto. It’s also quite possible that he possessed magazines of higher capacity than allowed in CA, as was mentioned above. But his criminal record likely does not allow him to own a gun
Also in CA you cannot have your semi auto in the passenger area while transporting it.
where did you teach this class? Suprised that a law school even has a class on this given most of their leanings these days.
What do you believe are the leanings of most law schools and what is your evidence supporting those beliefs?
Corporate leanings?
I should specify that I taught firearms law as part of concealed carry classes at Ann Arbor Arms. As they generally don’t allow people in the bottom half of their law class to be professors, even at MSU, I did not teach this class at a law school.
I believe you have to have a special type of Federal Firearms License and be a Special Occupational Taxpayer to own an automatic weapon (fires more than 1 bullet with 1 trigger pull) that was made before 1986. It is a very difficult proess to qualify for that status. To buy an automatic lesson made after 1986 it is even harder.
I would love to buy an automatic lesson. Where are those available for purchase?
Oops, I hope that they don't require a stay in a penitentiary.
I've got to remember to proof my posts before saving!
Frank Clark is the last person who should be carrying a firearm. He's impulsive and can't consider negative outcomes that his actions may lead to.
He's more likely to shoot someone in a road rage incident than he is to use his weapon for a legitimate reason.
“That's not the frank clark I know”
-Jim Brandstatter, Mitch Albom and 100 idiots who used to play football.
No shit. This is the most Frank Clark thing ever.
Popo: Frank, you rock, but why do you have an uzi in your ride.
Big Frank: Because I can.
Fuck off I got work to do
Frank’s Agent at beginning of year: Just remember, if you stay out of jail for the next two years you will make $20Million+, guaranteed
Frank: I would rather play with illegal guns
From stealing a laptop [in Markley?] his freshman year to beating up his girlfriend in front of her kids this guy has a serious lack of judgement/executive function. I wonder if he has mental issues or if he's just stupid.
...and by the way mental issues aren't a joke. Several people in my extended family are bi-polar, schizophrenic, manic-depressive and/or have anxiety/depression and it affects their judgment a lot. ~1/3 of white women in the U.S. are actively prescribed anti-anxiety medication.
Half of those women can stop taking pills. Frank will be off the streets for a while.
Wow - nailed it.
I remember a couple years back, when he did something decent and had a news story focused on him. I mentioned that he had beat his girlfriend and that I had no use for him. The downvotes came fast and numerous because of the feel good story. Whatever. He's a PoS as human being.
I mean, it's not hard to be a decent person. All you have to do is not go out of your way to do the wrong thing (like seek out someone that will sell an Uzi to a felon)! Nobody expects you to be perfect, or the kindest thing in the world. Just have a little self-respect and common decency! But he can't even do that...
I'm down voting you now for whining about people disagreeing with your opinion
LOL!! I'll take that because I should have been more clear! My point was that the blog's collective opinion changes based on the tenor of the news story involved...
Yeah, not a big shock he can't stay out of trouble.
Well on the bright side is that he didn't shoot himself in the leg at the club!
Really?
We're going to take the moral high ground vis-a-vis Satee?
On anything?
It is a severe blow to the moral high ground to misspell "Staee", even when using French to preface the term.
My biggest question is why an Uzi? If there is anything I learned from 80s action movies, bodyguards with Uzis never hit anything they are aiming at. Also makes me wonder if Frank Clark is a final boss level bad guy.
Don't ride him so hard. He was making his point by referring to the great French classical composer Erik Satee. (Yeah, I know, he can't even spell that right. )
That's your takeaway from this... that I misspelled Staee?
It's too bad. He can't seem to overcome his hard life as a youth growing up in the Cleveland area. People can still make good choices, but he has shown a regular habit of doing otherwise.
Can we blame it on OH then???
Someone must have crapped in his family cooler at a young age.
Yeah, at some point I lose patience for guys who have been given numerous opportunities to stop doing bad things. I get that guys have tough upbringings at times and it can be hard to change, but I've also not seen much remorse from Clark for any of his trangressions.
And he stands to lose a lot -- an NFL career for one -- that a lot of other guys would willingly give up their old ways to have. At some point, the adult has to accept this and act accordingly.
Better hope he has soap on the rope.
Yeah because rape is hilarious
He should have had an AK. He would have had a much better day.
+1 underrated
Only if he didn't have to use it
From an article:
"The Kansas City Chiefs defensive end was pulled over for a routine traffic stop Sunday in Los Angeles when cops on the scene noticed an open duffle bag in the vehicle.
(Officers) saw the gun inside the bag … and arrested the 28-year-old for felony illegal possession of a firearm."
Even dumber. The Uzi was clearly visible ....

Clearly he was profiled.
