So much for flipping channels when our game gets out of hand...
November 10th, 2020 at 4:04 PM ^
Texas A&M vs. Tennessee also cancelled.
Aggies and Tigers are the infected culprits.
November 10th, 2020 at 4:07 PM ^
Have Tennessee play Alabama
Im sure Cajun Hoke isn’t too disappointed.
November 10th, 2020 at 4:13 PM ^
They already did.
November 10th, 2020 at 4:17 PM ^
Not canceled - ppd
November 10th, 2020 at 4:30 PM ^
Play again
November 10th, 2020 at 4:04 PM ^
That's why you shouldn't make hasty decision or get caught up over silly losses during this season.
It will be the silliest mistake the AD would make to fire a coach during a season that doesn't mean much to begin with.
November 10th, 2020 at 4:10 PM ^
The significance of the season has nothing to do with how terrible and inept UM has looked, especially when past predictions on issues with roster, coaching, etc have fully come to fruition despite people seeing it from a mile away, all the while the head coach has done nothing to fix the glaring issues with the program. The trend is clear and it's not going to magically get fixed by giving Harbaugh more time, especially when recruiting tanks from either shit performance or a lame duck staff.
November 10th, 2020 at 4:32 PM ^
You seem very certain of that. If it wasn't a silly season, Ambry and Nico would be playing. Also, we would've had the last 2 games against tomato cans.
Spending the off-season planning for a tough game 1 makes sense to me. As does their usual plan for development afterward... this is a new QB, new OL and CBs got bumped up a notch. DT hasn't been as bad as the doomsday prediction and CB has an obvious reason for why it got worse.
November 10th, 2020 at 5:29 PM ^
Ambry and Nico would have been the difference to winning a big ten championship? Are you on crack? If so please give me some. That’s the only way any sane person can get through this piece of shit season
November 10th, 2020 at 6:04 PM ^
Are you dumb or just a moron? Michigan wasn't coming close to a championship this season when they lost their entire starting offense other than the backs, Mayfield and Ronnie bell.
You are whats wrong with michigan fans that you literally thought michigan was going to compete for a conf title this year.
Let me guess what you will say...
If Harbaugh isn't winning championships now then he should be fired..
Newsflash, no one is beating Ohio state anytime soon in this conference
November 11th, 2020 at 10:08 AM ^
No, but our shitty team PLUS this joke of a season are why I haven’t watched a single College Football game this year. At least NCAA Basketball is more centralized and hopefully has a better shot.
November 10th, 2020 at 4:44 PM ^
Exactly. When you look at the list of departures from last years team, the Covid departures, and those now injured, it is crazy who actually is available for this team.
Not pleased with the results on the field this year, but to overreact to this crazy season would be silly.
November 10th, 2020 at 5:28 PM ^
This year? Harbaugh should have been fired last season. Everyone already knew this season was 9 wins top. What does COVID and early departures have to do with anything? Lmao
November 10th, 2020 at 6:51 PM ^
Lol you aren't even aware it's a 9 game season.
November 10th, 2020 at 6:59 PM ^
Maybe that is why it was nine wins tops???
November 10th, 2020 at 4:53 PM ^
Sure thing Sarah!
November 10th, 2020 at 5:27 PM ^
Harbaugh claimed his team wanted to play and were ready to go 6 weeks ago. How did COVID affect Harbaughs ability to field a competent team? Or give his qb the best chance to win? Or recruit better athletes? Or teach the young CB how to defend the deep ball? Or stop jumping offsides? Or sack the opposing QB? Or have a playbook for the 2 minute offense? Not waste 5 minutes for 15 fucking yards! It amazes me when trolls like this claim to be Michigan fans and yet want our program to stay in the dirt while our rivals are laughing their asses off not to mention high school players when they get a scholarship offer from this sad coaching staff.
November 10th, 2020 at 5:31 PM ^
It will be the silliest mistake the AD would make to fire a coach who in year 6:
- is 0-5 vs OSU, and in the last 2 we have gotten DESTROYED
- is 3-3 vs. MSU
- best road win is against #20 ranked Northwestern
- 1-4 in "meaningless" bowl games
- has not gone to the B1G championship game, let alone win a title
- has high numbers of defections of players
- can't develop a solid qb for more than 1 season
Yup, he is a keeper!
November 10th, 2020 at 5:51 PM ^
Players leaving is one of the most underrated issues. There is plenty else to worry about but the outsized number of players who leave, skip bowl games or opt out says it just ain’t clicking with Jim.
November 10th, 2020 at 6:54 PM ^
Agreed. Sure there have been opt-outs, early departures, transfers at every program, but it seems like Michigan is the only place where every guy who has a chance to go takes it.
November 10th, 2020 at 8:28 PM ^
Perfectly said. My feelings on the subject in under 30 words. +100
November 10th, 2020 at 8:38 PM ^
Truth, got some systemic issues in play. This should be JH's last year. He'll be fine walking away with plenty of cash and not coaching the last year of his contract. We need to find a better coach to replace him.
November 10th, 2020 at 8:45 PM ^
Thank you for putting this in to perspective in one nice neat package, and the perfect sarcasm at the end! Well done.
November 10th, 2020 at 5:40 PM ^
You are becoming the Maizen of coaching change. We get it man, you don't want to fire JH this year. We....get....it.
November 10th, 2020 at 5:52 PM ^
I said firing Jim Harbaugh this year in a meaningless season is stupid to because it is. The supposed best team in the west (wisconsin has only played 1 game) and so many teams have cancelled games or have player opt outs or whatever silly reason. So we lost to msu and a top 10 indiana and the sky is falling?
We didn't have a full practice season, players leaving, players injured or whatever so we can Jim fucking Harbaugh to hope for a decent coach who may not want to even come here?!?!?
So you want to cancel Jim Harbaugh during a pandemic? Give him the benefit of the doubt and his full contract.
November 10th, 2020 at 6:04 PM ^
He will not coach next year if he doesn’t have an extension. That’s already a given almost. Why waste the money on him? Use it to get the best guy out there whoever it may be. Stop being second rate!
November 10th, 2020 at 6:07 PM ^
Michigan State didn’t have a full practice season and their coach didn’t even get hired til mid February. The last time they had a recruiting class in the top 5 in the Big Ten was 2016. They lost to Rutgers and got destroyed by Iowa, yet they beat us. Pandemic or no pandemic, the on the field results speak for themselves.
November 10th, 2020 at 6:24 PM ^
Why???
November 10th, 2020 at 8:01 PM ^
When you lose to a horrible MSU squad in year 6 v 1 it’s time to pack your shit.
November 10th, 2020 at 11:06 PM ^
Every team faces the same pandemic obstacles. He doesn’t get a special pass.
November 10th, 2020 at 9:49 PM ^
Why would you possibly think that the season is meaningless or that, if it is, how does that make any difference how shitty this team is? What, exactly, has the current staff shown you that proves they have what it takes to be successful?
November 11th, 2020 at 12:09 PM ^
Lol gtfo of here
November 10th, 2020 at 4:04 PM ^
...and there was much rejoicing in Baton Rouge.
November 10th, 2020 at 4:15 PM ^
Calls for an extra pound of crawfish in the boil!
November 10th, 2020 at 4:51 PM ^
I wonder why???
November 10th, 2020 at 4:54 PM ^
I thought at one point and high % of LSU players had already contracted it. I call shenanigans on this one... and where do we get some.
November 10th, 2020 at 5:30 PM ^
Probabyfor the best in Baton Rouge
November 10th, 2020 at 5:47 PM ^
SEC as a whole wouldn't look great if the Tigers took a 70pt beatdown. Call me cynical, but I suspect that factored into it.
November 10th, 2020 at 5:53 PM ^
No chance. They’re doing everything they can to play. The economics are significant.
November 10th, 2020 at 6:00 PM ^
This is the best case scenario for LSU. Or at the very least, it’s best case scenario for Ed Orgeron. They would’ve been absolutely ground down into a fine paste by Alabama, and whatever remained would’ve been thrown into an incinerator and turned on full blast. They definitely would’ve lost to the tune of 68-17.
Alabama can’t beat LSU if it can’t play LSU.
November 10th, 2020 at 6:29 PM ^
Man, I know he just won a national title, but Coach O has looked like the biggest dumbfuck in the sport this year regarding Covid. He basically admitted that they let the whole team get covid out of some misguided idea that it would give them immunity, and now they've got a second outbreak. What a dumbfuck.
November 10th, 2020 at 8:08 PM ^
There is plenty of competition when it comes to dumbfuckery related to Covid In the spring, nationwide hospitalizations peaked at 59,940 on April 15. In the summer they peaked at 59,718 on July 23. They just hit 61,694 today and they don’t look like they’ve peaked yet.
The challenge is not the stupidity of an individual coach, it is that all across the country we are having a severe outbreak of a highly contagious virus.
November 10th, 2020 at 8:36 PM ^
Well even Clemson tried the mass covid exposure tactic back in June (28 positives) however seems not enough of the players caught it
November 10th, 2020 at 6:42 PM ^
Love this. All conferences destroy themselves and/or lose and both Cinci and BYU get in the playoff
November 10th, 2020 at 7:48 PM ^
Hooray can't wait to see OSU play BYU for a national title
This season was a mistake
November 10th, 2020 at 6:55 PM ^
Michigan football could sure use a few weeks of false positives.
November 10th, 2020 at 8:03 PM ^
I was hoping some (all) remaining Michigan games would be cancelled on the account of being horrible. Maybe even some retroactively.
Apparently, and unfortunately, this is not a thing.
November 10th, 2020 at 8:07 PM ^
Well, there is always Washington / Oregon State for a bit of Pac-12 After Dark once our game is in the post mortem phase, if anyone wants to see Turnover Chainsaw stolen and used against its own team.
BTN offers a ranked Northwestern team playing Purdue in the 7:30 PM slot, if you just want to skip the pain altogether, of course.
November 10th, 2020 at 8:33 PM ^
I keep waiting for Michigan-Wisconsin to be cancelled too! We desperately need a "development" week!!
November 10th, 2020 at 11:14 PM ^
Due to lack of interest?
