This was my first thought and fear. Lord I hope not, this board will be full BPONE

There are 4 offensive assistants that have left Alabama so far. When Enos was asked about whether he would be stepping up to OC prior to the Orange Bowl, he replied that they hadn't discussed it. Saban said the same thing. Saban then said they were going to review the staff after the game was over. FWIW, Saban had to replace 6 assistants last year. This is pretty common for Alabama.
January 11th, 2019 at 1:45 PM ^
Saban goes through a lot of OCs. No job security there and not a single one promoted from his staff.
A couple of his recent hires were prominent former HCs who had stains on their resumes. There are a few more of those available at the moment. One's in Italy. In that regard, he can hire whoever he wants without worrying about what the school or the fans think.

It's ok. The guy will probably be a loser like Nuss' was. Not to mention Bama's offense just got shellacked while running too much against Clemson. We now no longer need to be Bama's offense - we need to be Clemson's offense. Grumble, grumble...
January 11th, 2019 at 12:10 PM ^
Pep is def going to Bama now!!!
January 11th, 2019 at 12:12 PM ^
I guess the narrative that Gattis was passed over by Enos to replace Locksley at Bama was false
January 11th, 2019 at 12:15 PM ^
But seriously, what is going on at Bama. Are people sick of Saban's shit, or what? All the talent in the world, and he can't keep any of his staff to run his offense?
January 11th, 2019 at 12:21 PM ^
They lost a game, Bama fans want everyone gone!
January 11th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
My best guess is that Locksley got his dream job as a HC at Maryland and that Saban didn't think Gattis or Enos were ready/ good enough to be the OC. It's unconfirmed if Enos was offered the OC position.
Saban knew Gattis was gone when Locksley offered him the OC job. Saban didn't match, so everybody just assumed the new OC was Enos, but either he got more control or Saban wanted to go in another direction.

Trouble in Tuscaloosa
January 11th, 2019 at 12:21 PM ^
What's going on! That program is in big trouble. Saban has lost it and not who we thought he was. He has worn out his welcome with the staff. The silence from Bama right now is a problem. How can this be happening to them? Why can't they get rid of their kicking coach, he is the worst. They are never going to beat to Ohio State...
January 11th, 2019 at 12:32 PM ^
Saban is such a loser. I mean did you see the National Championship game? What a loser.
January 11th, 2019 at 1:40 PM ^
People are starting to buy Auburn shirts in Tuscaloosa
January 11th, 2019 at 2:04 PM ^
In other news:
The Alabama / Auburn divide down there is incredible. They take that shit seriously.
January 11th, 2019 at 2:48 PM ^
It's really starting to turn the tide in the rivalry
January 11th, 2019 at 12:16 PM ^
I tried to beat you to this news but this blog has terrible flaws in my tablet browser. It should be killed.
Anyway, yeah he Michiganed Sabin and took his 3 hour cruise as Bammy OC and SHOVED IT! Latched onto a laterally moving eastward bound Hurricane and landed in ol' (YT) Miami.

Penos
January 11th, 2019 at 2:15 PM ^
Yes, Dan Penos, he used to be pissing cousins with Dick Trickle. They were the Rowen & Martin of the sports world. Sock it to me, baby!
January 11th, 2019 at 12:20 PM ^
Jalen Hurts... come on down
January 11th, 2019 at 12:26 PM ^
We don't need Hurts. We could use Najee or Keilan Robinson, though.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:35 PM ^
I think he meant for Miami, which is rumored.
January 11th, 2019 at 2:07 PM ^
We better lock down Partridge. They came calling last year!
January 11th, 2019 at 12:25 PM ^
saban will pry get bob stoops to come out of retirement and be his OC, or meyer haha
that will shut everyone up on here lol

I would like to see the OSU fan reaction to Meyer going to Bama.
January 11th, 2019 at 1:37 PM ^
The OSU *and* Florida fan reaction would be glorious.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:30 PM ^
Would love to see Lane Kiffin go back there. Unlikely but that first press conference would be gold.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:31 PM ^
Good for him.
Unless Gattis does an Enos and goes to Alabama shortly after taking a job at UM.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:41 PM ^
I'd give it good odds
January 11th, 2019 at 12:34 PM ^
I don't get it. Is Dan Enos good? I'd rather have Major Applewhite instead.
January 11th, 2019 at 3:51 PM ^
Applewhite was actually Saban's first OC at Alabama. He was there one year (2007) and then left to go to Texas.
January 11th, 2019 at 4:59 PM ^
Man, I've never see anything special out of Applewhite. That's a falling up guy to me. Guy couldn't win at Houston fergodsakes.
Of course it seems the only reason Enos keeps getting jobs is because he's one of the last "pro style for college" guys left and there's still this dwindling group of mostly defensive head coaches that want that crap.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:34 PM ^
I just read yesterday that Enos was going to be named the new OC at Bama. What is going on at Bama?
January 11th, 2019 at 12:37 PM ^
Oh yeah, that'll fix Miami's offense.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:38 PM ^
Enos sounds a lot like penis. I'll bet he caught hell in school.
Good. Fuck that guy.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:49 PM ^
Curtis Enis would like to have a word with you.
January 11th, 2019 at 4:42 PM ^
Well, he did go to Staee, so...
January 11th, 2019 at 12:53 PM ^
The funny thing about this is that Alabama loses one game - badly, mind you - and suddenly assistants are heading for other destinations. Oh, I am sure they'll reload on the staff too, but it's interesting to watch.
January 11th, 2019 at 2:09 PM ^
I wonder if these moves would have happened regardless of the outcome of that game? I'm guessing ... maybe? Promotions, title, more money, etc. ...
The "coaching carousel" each year is a fascinating thing to watch. It seems to be getting more intense recently.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:56 PM ^
I guess that means Hurts is transferring to Miami, leaving Tathan to swing and miss on Miami.
January 11th, 2019 at 2:17 PM ^
Enos isn't terrible. Have residual affection for him because he coached the Chips to some not horrible years. Even once not losing a bowl game, and coaching one of the wildest almost wins in the history of bowls ('14 Bahamas Bowl).
But the U has really downgraded.
January 12th, 2019 at 5:32 PM ^
3-9
3-9
7-6
6-6
7-6
Considering what he followed, the guy was awful at CMU.
January 11th, 2019 at 2:25 PM ^
Wherever he goes, Dan Enos doesn't stay very long. If nothing else he'd be a good house guest.
January 11th, 2019 at 2:46 PM ^
Lots of staff turnover happening at Alabama.
And to think many of us were flipping out a few days ago that we lost an old-beyond-his prime coach in Mattison and an OSU lean in Washington.
January 11th, 2019 at 2:58 PM ^
Are there any coaches left at Alabama besides Saban?
January 11th, 2019 at 3:33 PM ^
The flux capacitor is working again. Back to 2006.
January 11th, 2019 at 3:24 PM ^
Where's he gonna be next week?
January 11th, 2019 at 4:22 PM ^
January 11th, 2019 at 10:37 PM ^
I thought he was Bama’s new OC and that’s why we got Gattis??
