Hey! Whadda say! Whadda know!

Walnuts was an underrated captain: solid earner, always willing to do the dirty work, busted his ass in vain to mentor Christopher. Not perfect, but near the end of the series he was possibly the ranking member of Tony's crew.
January 11th, 2019 at 4:51 PM ^
By the time of the final episode of HBO's The Sopranos, former boss Corrado “Uncle Junior” Soprano was hospitalized with dementia in an assisted living facility, consigliere Silvio Dante was hospitalized in a coma, and both Peter “Paulie Walnuts” Gualtieri and Albert “Ally Boy” Barese were the reigning captains in the DiMeo/Soprano crime family, but "Paulie Walnuts" was considered an underboss to Tony while Pasquale “Patsy” Parisi was leading Tony’s crew.
Among Tony’s crew, Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero was dead, Christopher “Chrissy” Moltisanti was dead, Robert “Bobby Bacala” Baccalieri, Junior was dead and Furio Giunta was missing in action.
The scene in the final episode of Tony and Paulie seated together outside Satriale’s Pork Store was in stark contrast to a scene from one of the early episodes with many members of the “family" shown together outside the store.

Another coach in his mid-30's! I'm going to state the obvious and say that Don Brown probably had a lot of influence in getting Campanile

We Are
BC
January 11th, 2019 at 12:10 PM ^
So no Larry Foote? ?
January 11th, 2019 at 12:30 PM ^
Sam Webb yesterday said that Foote wants to stay in the NFL. He MIGHT consider college as a coordinator, but not as a position coach.

If he is good enough for Don Brown (who I am certain knows exactly what he has done over the past couple years with BC), with Jim Harbaugh's blessing - he is good enough for me.
Welcome aboard, Coach Campanile
January 11th, 2019 at 12:16 PM ^
Nice, another young up and coming coach with recruiting chops!
January 11th, 2019 at 12:16 PM ^
Not a big fan of his beard style
January 11th, 2019 at 12:46 PM ^
I like the hire, but that beard needs to go. Hopefully it's in his contract that he has to remove it.

Not a former Michigan player. DONT WANT!

Ugh could u imagine
January 11th, 2019 at 12:17 PM ^
Fantastic news!
January 11th, 2019 at 12:17 PM ^
Does this mean he takes over safeties and Partridge moves back to LB?
January 11th, 2019 at 12:20 PM ^
He was in a Jersey feud with Partridge. Opposite sidelines of powerhouses in the NJ Parochial League.
Like Tony Soprano, Harbaugh got these two to squash their beef.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:41 PM ^
Squash their beef and share some gabbagool.
January 11th, 2019 at 1:50 PM ^
What, no fuckin' ziti?
January 11th, 2019 at 2:10 PM ^
Of Michael Scott's mispronunciations, this is a top 10 for me. Take my upvote.
January 11th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
Not so much a mispronunciation as Jersey-Italian dialect, at least as shown on The Sopranos.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:21 PM ^
Awesome. Just throw a ton of Benjamins at Larry Johnson Sr and this will be a successful hiring spree.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:30 PM ^
Oh please hire Johnson SR. That meltdown in Cbus would be epic. Johnson, Gattis, Campanile>Washington, GMAT, Pep.
The chances of Johnson coming here is slim to none at best, though.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:22 PM ^
Just a thought, I don't dislike jay h, but with all the hype of young coaches I think mike hart would be great hire for RB, move jay elsewhere, but I know there are no open coaching spots on offense
January 11th, 2019 at 12:24 PM ^
Ol' Jim is pretty good at this hiring thing.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:28 PM ^
meanwhile at MSU:
January 11th, 2019 at 12:28 PM ^
This looks like a good hire. He should work well with Brown, has recruiting ties, looks like he could be here for a while and move up to be DC one day. I am also glad that they moved quickly after the departures to OSU.
Any word on what role he will fill?
January 11th, 2019 at 12:34 PM ^
My guess is safeties which will allow Partridge to move back to LB.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:33 PM ^
How many coaches have we had at Michigan with full beards?
January 11th, 2019 at 12:50 PM ^
What we need to do is the following.
Double Don Brown Salary for the next contract.
Double Partridge Salary so he doesn’t look anywhere else
Fire Pep and give full control of the offense to Gattis
Give ED a huge raise as the O Line looks 100% better
Partrisge to LB and new hire from BC the DLine coach.
Promote Bush to DB coach.
Hire a new young energetic or very seasoned NFL type position player to be a Analyst.
Give the rock to the WR and let DMac play this year as well as Shea.
January 11th, 2019 at 12:56 PM ^
Why would you make the guy from BC the DL coach?
His playing career was as a linebacker and safety, his coaching career has been as a DC, Linebackers coach, and secondaries coach (minus a stint at Rutgers as WR/TE coach).
So why exactly do you see it as a good move to put a guy with zero history with DL as the DL coach?
January 11th, 2019 at 2:08 PM ^
Lol this is like when my MLB friends want to sign Bryce Harper and put him at 3B
January 11th, 2019 at 12:58 PM ^
New guy could be a few things but he is definitely not a DL coach.
January 11th, 2019 at 1:18 PM ^
You should put fire Pep/ Let him go on the top of list.
I don't see the logic to boost DB's salary, he has not helped us to defeat OSU yet.
Ed deserves a raise and probably more running game design duties if he has not done so.
Given Bush Sr. has not been hired in the past two years and he had a shot last year in bowl preparation, I think he will be sooner or later gone. We need an outstanding DL coach who can recruits. DL, especially DT, is the key. Look at how Clemson dominates. We need a very good DL coach who can recruit very well. That's hard to come by after we lost Mattison. The one of the biggest mistakes in DL rotation in the past year, may be not letting Gary go inside. We need more disrrupted DT with speed and strength.
January 11th, 2019 at 1:26 PM ^
I like this hire more than I like the Gattis hire.
January 11th, 2019 at 1:26 PM ^
Da Faq - who hires D coaches from BC? When has that ever worked out?
January 11th, 2019 at 3:05 PM ^
Someday, when I can upvote, I will remember this. Well done.
January 11th, 2019 at 4:56 PM ^
my man...
January 11th, 2019 at 3:22 PM ^
All right, I see you, Jim. Might be winning in the off-season after all.
