Each opponent plays us differently.  Coaches do great job anticipating this.  Players internalize game plan.  Make in-game adjustments as required.  Different combination of contributions each game.  A simply amazing TEAM.

I was there at the game. 2/3 full. Illinois fans were great. Very nice and complimented us on the win after.

Ugly win for sure. But 16-0 is phenomenal!!

PS

Matthews jumpers looked worse in person than TV.

caught the last few minutes.  Illinois coach really went all out to prolong the inevitable didn't he?

What was really bizarre is how late he started fouling.  M got a rebound up 10 with about 1:30 remaining and I figured they'd foul Z as he brought the ball up and they'd see if he missed to get it to single digits and see if they could pull off a miracle.

But no, he let the full 30 second possession tick down, M scored to make it 12 with a minute to go, and I was like, nice, he's didn't even try to extend it. They scored to get back to 10, pressed for a steal and gave up a quick dunk, and then scored to get it back to 10 and then started fouling with only 41 seconds left.  C'mon man.  You either need to start way earlier or give up at that point.

Best and worst (with apologies to BronxBlue)

worst: Matthews step back 2-pointers. Poole clanking from 3 all night.

Best: in a slog on someone else’s court, Simpson and Teske deliver.

Have a sub on me, Beilein.

I am so impressed with Simpson. Just when you think you know his game and his value, he takes it up another notch. In a very frantic style game, he had it totally in control. And Underwood is telling his team to not let Z get the ball.

‘What a treasure.
