08/14/2018 - 6:54am Tweets were good.  Overall,…

Tweets were good.  Overall, found the 60 minute show to be marginal.  Too much non - Michigan discussion - ex: ranking of non conference games.  Glenn Mason is awful.  Hates UM and his insights are trivial.

06/26/2018 - 7:25am Offer list

I find the offer…

Offer list

I find the offer list to be important.  Reflects the view of several coaching staffs.  If top echelon teams of each power five conference are involved, I take comfort more so than star rankings.

03/16/2018 - 1:05am The layoff

The impact was evident.
Stunned early by quick fouls on Z.
Defense was stellar.
Bench pulled us through - 20 points.
Houston minus #32 shot under 30%.

03/15/2018 - 6:54am Listened to all the podcast

Listened to all the podcast segments yesterday.
Impressed that JH would share several very candid criticisms.
Content of the criticisms was also impressive.
This is evidence of a secure & comitted leader.
Remember, he started making changes prior to bowl game with S&C.

02/04/2018 - 12:58pm Switch to zone defense was crucial

Very smart move. Beilein credited his assistant coach. This won the game.

01/25/2018 - 8:41pm What else would you expect

What else would you expect from a MSU alum?
Sign a contract - so what.

01/24/2018 - 2:02pm Reasons for taking:

Reasons for taking:

Better 5th year player than Watson.

Need for slot coverage from safety position.

Speed + experience contribution for special teams.

Reason for optimism:

Brown and Zordich want him.

01/23/2018 - 12:55pm My thought as well.
Kelly to

My thought as well.
Kelly to NFL narrative replacing constant JH rumor can't hurt on the recruiting trail.

01/10/2018 - 8:19am limit 13 scholarships

your hunch is correct.

1 transfer or exit to NBA required

01/10/2018 - 7:41am Seniors vs underclassmen

During the game, I was impressed by the poise & talent among our sophmores & freshman playing against a senior dominated Purdue team.
Bench scoring difference (18-4) noteworthy, with all our points from two freshmen.
Just hope kids will stay 4 years.

01/06/2018 - 12:15pm Agreed

Turn off sound

01/05/2018 - 5:13pm Moving away from friends - a good development

Harbaugh, similar to Beilein, seems to be moving away from hiring friends / associates from his past.
Best example Don Brown.
Latest examples:
& now
Also, all four have spent entire careers at college level.
Understand one only has 20 hours / week for a limited # of weeks with college players.
I wonder if Hamilton, after several NFL seasons, expected too much from our QB’s & receivers.
Speight regressed before being hurt.

01/04/2018 - 8:52pm Time with players

Due to NCAA rules, S&C coach has much more time with players.
Winter conditioning, then spring/summer.
Besides conditioning, he is critical for team’s culture & attitude.
Bet Harbaugh felt something was missing.
Certainly showed in 3rd & 4th quarters.
Good benchmark- UM basketball.
Read today where Beilein relies on Sanderson to evaluate recruits.

01/04/2018 - 2:56pm Need both

recently listed to Sam W's interview with Cooper Petenga.  my take away - UM does take into account "stars", but realizes filling classes with only 4's and 5's will be difficult given competition.  so, finding kids like Bell & Welschof becomes a must.

01/02/2018 - 9:30pm Sophomores & Freshmen

Sophomores: excellent development during the past year.
Freshmen: fun mixture of raw talent, swag, & meaningful contributions.
Add the 5 commits arriving next year - exciting.

01/02/2018 - 1:43pm Confidence shaken

You rightfully highlighted the disasterous call with a tight end trying to be a fullback.  When the play occurred, I just screamed at the tv.  Harbaugh's explanation afterward was appalling.  How could Harbaugh, Drevno and Hamilton have been so wrong.  Unfortunately, this is not an isolated, 2nd half of a game coaching mistake.  Starting with the 2015 MSU punt fiasco, there have been a series of late game coaching errors that have cost UM multiple victories.

A pattern has emerged when UM is evenly matched with its opponent - coaching mistakes have caused unnecessary losses.

This pattern overlayed with UM's 2018 schedule is a very ugly picture.

01/01/2018 - 10:07pm 3 different coaches

Just read on another site that three different coaches call offensive plays.
If so, is this the norm for college teams?
How can an offense develop rhythm & continuity?
How does this help with QB development?

01/01/2018 - 4:20pm Lost confidence

Lost confidence in Harbaugh & rest of offensive coaches today.
Key play: using the tight end as a fullback on a dive play.
Deep in your own territory.
Result - fumble.
Whoever designed that play should never design another.
Also, sick of Drevno saying O line was improving.
Peters pressured entire game.
Lastly, Metellus should have to run the stadium steps from 5am to 6am for the next 60 days.

12/18/2017 - 4:38pm key comment from hello post

"If 247 changed his position designation to fullback, he'd be the #1 player at the position in the composite rankings."

11/19/2017 - 12:36pm Shuffle some of his offensive coaching staff

after the QB position, most important position group in football is offensive line.
Following 2015 season, NE Patriots realized Brady was going to be killed without changes.
Changes were made.
"shuffle" is too modest an expectation.

11/19/2017 - 10:26am Coaching

Defensive staff - competent professionals >> accountability
Offensive staff - friends & family>> excuses
