"High School football in SC is phenomenal"? What exactly is phenomenal about it? It's a middle of the pack state for both elite recruits and overall D-1 recruits.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:39 PM ^
I will let my friend know that we are all grateful to him.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
Tell him he's doin the lord's work!
January 10th, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
But but but he won't be able to get a good proper meal up north like in the south. And he could die within minutes if he goes outside in Jan. But Pawl...
January 10th, 2019 at 4:04 PM ^
Did your friend write anything to Harbaugh about developing a tempo package, at least having one person be the "sole playcaller in case of emergency and/or two minute drill?"
If not, would he?
January 10th, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
will do.
January 10th, 2019 at 5:15 PM ^
Maybe he could drop a note to Don Brown on implementing a zone defense, similar to what we saw on Monday from Clemson? Thank you!

We can add email guy to Uber driver and counter strike guy! I’m glad they are all Michigan fans
January 10th, 2019 at 6:32 PM ^
Bravo, sir.
One of the best posts I can recall.
January 10th, 2019 at 9:15 PM ^
Isn’t if funny as hell everybody was making fun of that guy who said his friend emailed Harbaugh about Alabama modernizing their offense and today they announce Alabama’s co-OC?
this is so great ?
January 10th, 2019 at 3:26 PM ^
We'll actually have an offensive coordinator?
January 10th, 2019 at 3:33 PM ^
hopefully he is handing over the reigns.
January 10th, 2019 at 4:49 PM ^
Will this new guy be co-OC with Pep and Jimmy?
January 10th, 2019 at 3:26 PM ^
HARBAUGH, STEP BACK AND LET HIM CALL THE PLAYS
January 10th, 2019 at 3:40 PM ^
The only issue is that he has never called plays before.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
I don’t care, I cannot deal with another season of having a 30 second conference call to decide every playcall. Just let one dude call them and let him get into a rhythm.
January 10th, 2019 at 4:04 PM ^
He’s young and successful and he’s got a lot of talent to be scripting up for
January 10th, 2019 at 7:34 PM ^
I'm sure he's played Madden before. He won't blow the clock at the end of halves, won't waste timeouts, and will actually run formations that don't always include three TEs and a FB. I'm okay with it
January 10th, 2019 at 5:05 PM ^
WE’LL DO IT LIVE !!
January 10th, 2019 at 3:26 PM ^
I'm fired up! Locksley was trying to bring him up to MD with him.
Means Pep has to be gone too!
POSBANG? :)
January 10th, 2019 at 3:38 PM ^
Let's hope it is a trade. Pep to MD.
January 10th, 2019 at 4:04 PM ^
Naw Pep to Bama. After only putting 16 up on Clemson. Bama needs to learn the body blow technique to get them to the next level.
January 10th, 2019 at 5:05 PM ^
That shit would probably work for them.
January 10th, 2019 at 6:49 PM ^
It did work, until they inexplicably stopped doing it.
January 10th, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
Maybe Pep will be QB coach. Shea speaks highly of his demeanor and coaching ability. Sometimes that buffer can be a good thing.
January 10th, 2019 at 5:00 PM ^
But will Pep take a Million dollar pay cut
January 10th, 2019 at 5:44 PM ^
If it is the best offer on the table, why not?
January 10th, 2019 at 3:26 PM ^
Hallelujah Hollaback!!
January 10th, 2019 at 3:27 PM ^
Awwwww yeah give me that power spread
January 10th, 2019 at 3:27 PM ^
What a weird turn of events! Now open up the playbook and let our receivers and Shea make plays. I love Gattis' resume with receivers at Penn State and Bama.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:27 PM ^
Someone changed his wiki to "OC at Maryland" about an hour ago. Sorry!
January 10th, 2019 at 3:34 PM ^
And it now says Michigan!!!
January 10th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
they picked the wrong 'U of M'.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
Good shit, Jim.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
This calls for a celebration!
January 10th, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
Doesn't matter who we hire until JH hands the reigns to his OC and tells him to do what he does. Till then, it will be "body blows" and 18 passes a game.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:32 PM ^
I've been cool with 18 PA/Game as long as 3 or 4 of them go for beaucoup yardage.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:36 PM ^
why is this comment getting negged? It's the truth, hopefully Harbaugh gives Gattis the freedom to run the offense with a little more pace and do his thing, otherwise there won't be much change in philosophy from this year.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:40 PM ^
I disagree. All this guy has to do is design better plays than Pep did and suggest them to Harbaugh in game and it'll be a massive improvement.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
I agree. Not sure I want Michigan to be the first place he has ever called plays or designed an offense. Good hire but he has always been under someone else. He seems like a good recruiter, if he can help mold things I am fine with Jim calling the plays initially.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
It's reasonable to assume that Gattis wouldn't leave Bama and wouldn't spurn his friend at Maryland to not call plays or run the offense at Michigan.
It's also reasonable to assume that if Harbaugh wanted to keep things the same as last year, he wouldn't bother hiring an OC.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
I'm not sure Pep didn't have that freedom. I remember in one of the body blow comments, an announcer said that Pep likes to go deep about once a quarter to stretch the field. That's about what we did and the announcer specifically mentioned to talking to Pep beforehand.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
Oh no but what about the narrative? WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN TO THE NARRATIVE
January 10th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
Wow! Isn’t Gattis also supposed to be one hell of a recruiter too? Something that could pay huge dividends!
January 10th, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
Yup, just thought the same thing. Lot of tweets flying around about him right now. Recruited very well for PSU and Bama.
January 10th, 2019 at 3:33 PM ^
Great recruiter. Will be coaching the WR most likely. Coached at Vandy, PSU and Bama, all of which ran some variation of the spread with tempo. Love the hire. Please do better than the last OC we poached...
January 10th, 2019 at 4:37 PM ^
So what will happen with the Ben McDaniels guy who served as WR coach for bowl game. Didn't Harbaugh day he wanted to make that permanent?
January 10th, 2019 at 3:49 PM ^
According to 2/47, he was the #23 recruiter this past cycle. That would put him second behind Partridge on M's staff who is at #7.
Washington was #85
GMat was #149
And after much scrolling, Pep checks in at...….#449
January 10th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
Good deal!!
