Peach Bowl Halftime/Second Half Thread

Lots of suck in that first half. And unlike Jim and the first half, this thread is ready well before the halftime clock runs out.

There will be competition at QB next year. Florida going to school on M D like OSU, weak D backs so far. Looks like Zack may have a shot at rb as well.

Let's hope there's competition at qb next year. It's not all on Shea, but he's not good enough to make up for lousy play calling and dropped passes. Plus he ain't playing Sundays, so hope he's studying and hopefully Harbaugh doesn't feel like he owes him a starting job next year.

For the last three games, it looks like people have figured out how to exploit this defense, and so far Brown hasn't really had any adjustments to counter that.  Plus, their lack of depth is being exposed now as well.

And as for the offense...yeesh.  Its still amazing to me that they can't figure out how to use DPJ, Collins, and Black consistently and creatively.  Said it after the OSU game, and I'll say it again, Harbaugh needs his Saban/Kiffin moment where he turns over this antiquated offense over to a younger, brighter offensive mind.

We need a real oc fast. The committee system is not working. Not sure what happened to Harbaugh. The 49ers didnt have the same talent as the patriots, ravens etc. but always competed at the highest level. Now we look like a washed up iowa running the ball with 40 seconds left and failing to use one of our two timeouts. We havent tested their secondary since that third drive.

This is what I just don’t get. Zone read keeper first play for great yardage. Haven’t kept it once since. Letting Nico bully a CB and make plays, fuck that, DPJ isolated for a TD, let’s not try that again. I know you can’t just get those situations whenever you want but it just seems like when things work, they just abandon them. Is the playbook in chronological order and can’t be adjusted?

Defense is wavering and close to collapsing. Its all on the offense. Gonna need a little luck to pull this one out.

Good thing for the early signing day.

Fuck Pep, Fuck clock management.  Nothing creative from the staff today except picking their nose with a different finger.

We have absolutely nothing to lose at this point.

Spread the field, go tempo, let Shea air it out to our 4 and 5 star receivers, and see what the fuck happens.

Maybe we'll like it.

Interesting how the bowl wants to have a Dave Mathews concert at halftime (with darkened field and pyrotechnics) when it begins ~ 1:30pm in the afternoon.  Thank God I am streaming online and can switch over to the Belk Bowl during this.

I will never understand why UM’s offense looks so difficult. It just looks like they are all trying to solve a complicated puzzle on every snap. I have no idea if this is really happening, but that is just how it looks to me.

Rough half of football for the recruiting rankings don't matter crowd. Stueber and Runyan getting rag dolled up and down the field, McKeon with stone hands and missing blocks, safeties can't cover a soul, and the DL is getting hardly any pressure.

Big picture: Pep needs to be fired and Jim needs to hire an innovative OC. As for the defense, Don Brown needs to move to a cover 3 or cover 2 defense next year. You can't continually operate a defense that gives the opposing offense the same looks every down. You can't keep putting players that are average athletes in 1v1 situations.

They really need to recruit their asses off because the lack of talent at some spots is scary. If you're going to take all these 3 stars they better develop or you better have great scheme. Right now we have neither.

No thanks ESPN, I don't want recaps of all the other bowl games we've played, and definitely don't show me any sort of highlights.

I want to watch 10 minutes of the Dave Matthews Band

Such bullshit crap.  We literally do the same exact thing every single series.  Either a run or sideline screen type deal, then the opposite the next play, then another run, then a third-down throw for big yards or a first down, then repeat.  Get some fucking balls and change it up.  Throw three straight times once in a while.  It’s so GD boring in 2018 to play this way.

Wow.  Fuck you guys.  I don't usually read the in game threads, but if you guys are really Michigan fans you can go fuck yourselves and find a different team to root for.  My goodness. And if you're just trolls then you must have miserable lives to put this much time and energy into another teams message board.

We aren't winning jack shit with Shea next year as QB, why not just see if McCaffrey can be generational talent.

The season ended in Columbus. We need this game for the extra practices, some game experience and for recruiting.

Relax... if they lose, it really doesn't change anything. That's why the game plan is more vanilla and the defense isn't more aggressive with the mediocre QB.

This isn't some bad Hollywood movie where Gary, Bush, Higdon and JBB would dress in the middle of the third quarter, tap Harbaugh on the shoulder, and the team wins the game on a last second flea-flicker double-reverse in slow motion where everyone on the Florida defense breaks multiple limbs. It just doesn't matter.

Defense has been disappointing. Clearly miss Bush in the middle. Franks is as advertised--average at best. He has thrown two RPO slants and a nice deep ball in the 1st quarter and that's about it.

Load up to stop the run and make that guy beat you throwing it down the field.

We're only behind by 3 but it feels like Florida has most of the momentum.  If we get the ball in the hands of DPJ, Black, and Collins in the 2nd half, we can win.  But only if the defense doesn't cave.  A number of plays in the first half where Bush would have made a huge difference.

First Half Observations:

Players playing hard to win

Coaches on offense look confused.

Defense exposed for 4th game in a row. Trick formations on D are a bust.

Michigan safetys look lost in the scheme

Franks is not a good QB and Florida offense is not that good

Nico Collins is a beast

Oliver should be playing in slot

Ran one jet sweep for almost a TD nothing since

Turner looks fast and has some hops,  More Turner please

Evans should be used on passing downs in flat and on wheel routes.

Liked some of the play calls with mis-direction but poor execution

I am in the minority, but I think Michigan scores 21 or more in second half.  Not sure defense can keep Florida down.

Harbaugh and staff are so arrogant, stubborn, and loyal all at the same time. Kinnel should've lost his job like 10 games ago and the fact he hasn't says something about the staff. Unless his backups are even worse, which I doubt. Gil is terrible and should not be playing over mcgrone and Anthony. Evans is not a running back. Grant perry, nice guy but should not be playing. Watson over ambry? At least sub between them.

Nobody can say that the guys that sat out aren't making a difference.

We miss them and need them.

Credit to FL for everybody playing.

Since the Notre Dame game, UM has run offensive sets to get around the 35 or 40 yd line in fringe field goal territory regularly in every single game. They seem to have the defense on their heels and then decide to switch up the offense to something different and go nowhere. It’s as if they’ve banked the field goal opportunity in their mind and feel the need to turtle so as not too give that up by getting sacked or throwing a pick. But they continually stall in that area of the field. I don’t get it.
