I felt this way 100% after the OSU game. But OSU has given us one last opportunity with Meyer’s retirement. If Harbaugh beats Day you get an “OSU isn’t the same without Urban” narrative. But if Day beats us at home next year, it’s over.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:32 PM ^
I agree with you Barn!
December 8th, 2018 at 7:55 PM ^
This is both true and 10-3 is also a step up from the recent past. Not a whole lot of 10+ win seasons the last 15-20 years. (Only 7 since 2000 — and three of those were in the last 4 years)
December 8th, 2018 at 8:05 PM ^
This is stupid. And you get approval for this. What were those glory days you speak off? We used to beat OSU. That is about it. Won one championship in so many decades. Have some faith dammit. We got over the MSU and PSU hump. We will get there with OSU. One recruit is not going to make or break a team. We had the best DL from his class in our team. Look what happened. Once we get over that OSU hump we will get to be in the glory days that we did not have for so long except for odds and ends.
December 8th, 2018 at 8:57 PM ^
Unfortunately, now we can’t beat OSU, can’t get to Big10 championship, and LOL at PLAYOFFS.
But hey, 10 wins over Maryland, Indiana and such! Wooohoo!
December 8th, 2018 at 8:13 PM ^
Unless you're 70-something, you can't remember any glory days. 10-3 qualifies as a good Michigan season in the modern era of football.
December 8th, 2018 at 8:36 PM ^
Because its coupled with your avatar, this is my favorite comment in the thread.
December 9th, 2018 at 11:24 AM ^
At least sparty is back down in the cellar where they belong, M can beat the shit out of psu most times, uh we can beat every other B1G team, hmmm ...im grassping right now. lol
Ugh just a dong punch with a hammer
This bowl game is huge now, gotta have 11 wins this year to help with some of this shit...some
December 8th, 2018 at 7:01 PM ^
:((((((
December 8th, 2018 at 7:02 PM ^
I wish Dax the best. This is devastating.
December 8th, 2018 at 8:49 PM ^
Fuck that. Dax a hoe. Don't gimme that "they're just kids" be.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:03 PM ^
Sheeeeeeeeeet!
December 8th, 2018 at 7:03 PM ^
Fuck me in the fucking asshole.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:06 PM ^
Is there another kind of asshole?
December 8th, 2018 at 7:13 PM ^
My personality. I’m a hater. Fuck me and fooka you.
December 8th, 2018 at 9:14 PM ^
I’ll pass
December 8th, 2018 at 7:03 PM ^
Man, this sucks. I understand, but man.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:03 PM ^
Jesus Fuck. Man Fuck Alabama. Fuck Nick Saban. Fuck all those inbred rednecks in their single wide trailers celebrating national championships all the fucking fuck time!!
December 8th, 2018 at 7:16 PM ^
Hey, don't stereotype. A fair number of them are actually double wides!
December 8th, 2018 at 7:04 PM ^
Can you blame him? Our defense shit it’s collective pants in the biggest game of the year and looked like a RichRod defense. If I wanted to win national titles and Alabama was an option for me, I don’t know why I’d go anywhere else.
Wish he would’ve stayed, but I don’t blame him for leaving.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:04 PM ^
I'm officially done following recruiting until signing day. These "Hard Commits" mean NOTHING.
December 9th, 2018 at 12:28 AM ^
bingo
December 8th, 2018 at 7:04 PM ^
Really tough to get where we want to go when we miss on guys like this.
December 8th, 2018 at 8:28 PM ^
Until we start beating OSU we should just get used to this. Michigan is a good to great program, but we are not elite right now.
Not even remotely on the same level as Alabama, Clemson or OSU. So I don’t blame a kid for wanting to go there over Michigan right now.
December 8th, 2018 at 9:08 PM ^
How did Clemson get to THAT level? By hanging around, losing big games, getting good recruits and one day breaking to the top.
This sucks
December 8th, 2018 at 7:05 PM ^
I was debating whether to get ham blasted drunk tonight or not, I think reading this has helped me make my decision.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:05 PM ^
Tough to compete with all Bama has to "offer."
December 8th, 2018 at 7:29 PM ^
You mean like playoff appearances and championships every year versus a program that is capped at 10-3? Yea that is a lot to offer.
December 8th, 2018 at 8:21 PM ^
Never forget that Saban offered a linebacker $40K while he was a coach at TOLEDO. Imagine the cash being thrown around now... Hard to blame the kid. Gary making it to signing day was a miracle. Clemson offered him the world, man. We just don't play the same game as these teams. It's a joke.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:05 PM ^
must have gotten paid really good. this came out of nowhere
December 8th, 2018 at 7:07 PM ^
It's best not to tune into recruiting until after signing day.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:07 PM ^
Done with recruiting until the class is signed and faxes are in.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:08 PM ^
Unless he plays basketball, this doesn't affect us.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:08 PM ^
What the hell? I thought he was solid, did he visit them recently?
December 8th, 2018 at 7:08 PM ^
This one really stings. Position of NEED. Fuck
December 8th, 2018 at 7:08 PM ^
Money talks.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:22 PM ^
Sure, but do you think flipping a kid to Bama usually requires a bag man?
December 8th, 2018 at 7:53 PM ^
They prefer not to take chances. Grease the wheels to be safe.
December 8th, 2018 at 8:10 PM ^
Oh please, cut the bullshit. He flipped as a result of the epic disgrace of a performance we just gave on national tv. If we had beaten OSU and won the conference championship and were on our way to the playoff, do you REALLY think he would have flipped?
People on here may not like it, but how the team performs on the big time stages with the whole country watching DOES impact recruiting.
December 8th, 2018 at 11:12 PM ^
I find it funny/odd/interesting that Dax Hill committed to a 2-1 Michigan team that had lost their only significant game of the season (against Notre Dame), was coming off a year in which they went a disappointing 8-5, and had many fans assuming we'd go 8-5 again. How did our on-field performance put us in a better position then than it did after finishing 10-2, with convincing wins over MSU, Wisconsin, and PSU--even with the OSU loss? Was Dax really thinking back in September, "I bet Michigan makes the playoffs and so finishes the year in an equivalent or better position than Alabama"?
Now clearly I don't think the OSU loss could have helped, and maybe he would have stayed had that game gone differently. Teenagers can live in the moment, so perhaps he's now feeling Alabama's success in a concrete way as the playoffs are immanent. Still, I don't think it's naive to think that the OSU game wasn't the sole determining factor.
December 8th, 2018 at 8:59 PM ^
62-39 is the reason.
December 8th, 2018 at 9:29 PM ^
Did you, or any other idiot saying this, bother to ask him?
December 9th, 2018 at 9:45 AM ^
So we should trust your opinion on who is an idiot?
December 8th, 2018 at 7:09 PM ^
Chris Carter comments probably created negitive recruiting! Plus giving up 62 does not help!
December 8th, 2018 at 8:01 PM ^
The sad realty of Carter’s comments is that Harbaugh is the type of guy the NFL does NOT want right now. They are hot on bright offensive minds. Dudes like Harbaugh are on the way out.
So....don’t really need to worry about that one.
December 8th, 2018 at 8:03 PM ^
Eh, I wouldn’t be so sure. Jon Fucking Gruden got a million year contract after being out of coaching for a decade. NFL loves some retreads
December 9th, 2018 at 8:57 AM ^
True, but there's only one Raiders franchise.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:09 PM ^
Ouch...
December 8th, 2018 at 7:10 PM ^
62-39 has consequences.
And Meyer could've made it 70. Ohio State was already in the redzone and looking unstoppable. He could've told his team to punch it in (instead of victory formation) and then gone for 2.
Surprisingly, Meyer took mercy on us and didn't pull a Woody Hayes. His offense toyed with our defense for much of the game.
