Right a home game for Michigan against Flor... oh wait Florida is literally right next door.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:23 PM ^
Saw that. So they think it's better to put 2 teams that have played one another some what frequently in a bowl game vs send ucf back to the same bowl they played in but this time against a different team. #pickingfromseatofpants
Ugh, c'mon there are better matchups. Dumb cfp.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:34 PM ^
That is a load. Would way rather play a team would has to travel as much as Michigan, or nearly as much as Michigan. LSU in the Fiesta would have been the right call. Semi home game for the Gators from Gainesville. Giving Florida the right to play for state championship vs UCF would have been right move too.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:53 PM ^
They do realize we will be flying not walking to the game, what the hell does it matter if its a litlle closer
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:17 PM ^
Yeah that dude’s explanation was basically about proximity and not interesting matchups. Snooze fest.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:18 PM ^
Hotlanta!
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:18 PM ^
How many people just watched the bowl announcement and heard all of those TV guys clowning our offense?
So to the people in our fan base who keep defending our offense. I really hope you were listening. We have to change some things.
I hope Harbaugh was watching and felt disrespected by those comments.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:24 PM ^
You take anything Joey Galloway says seriously?
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:50 PM ^
No, but it wasn't just Joey. I mean, they were all chipping in and having a long laugh fest about the over and under being so low.
It wasn't really about the defenses, those laughs were making comical fun about the offenses.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:18 PM ^
Why are people in charge the biggest idiots? This makes 0 fucking sense. LSU bs Michigan would be a ratings bonanza. Also, how good would UF/UCF be? So stupid.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:18 PM ^
Hey, lets just whip an SEC team and look forward to next year. No sense in complaining about what we can't change. Let's support the team, not their fault...
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:19 PM ^
Literally no one wants to play Florida, this sucks.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:19 PM ^
I'm fine with this. A very good team, strong D, on-and-off offense, coached by a guy who beat us 52-14 (2011 Bowl game).
I'm tired of having losses the last two years in bowl games - we need to get a W then get back to 2019 Focus - the schedule next year works in our favor.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:34 PM ^
Hopefully, we see some fire on the OL and knock some people down! That, and some pass rush up the middle. Two things that would get me dreaming again!
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:19 PM ^
I thought the New Years 6 games were supposed to be on New Year's Day?
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:57 PM ^
Yeah but they branded it a NY6 Bowl! Didn't you get the memo. It's exciting!!!
/s
December 2nd, 2018 at 6:39 PM ^
Except when the committee places you in he worse NY6 bowl game on purpose, against a team you played 3 times in the last few years. Pathetic! Michigan vs LSU would have had a massive ratings in the fiesta bowl.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:20 PM ^
Idiots in charge of things for no reason. LSU v Michigan in the Fiesta and UCF v Florida in the Peach would be wayyy more appealing for all teams involved.
No-win situation for Michigan. Beat Florida yet again, “that’s not a big win.” Lose to Florida, “lol Michigan can never win a big game!”
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:23 PM ^
Beating 3-loss Florida is not a big win. Especially when now, EVERY ONE of your rivals will have participated in the playoff.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:31 PM ^
Isn't that what makes them our rival? That they beat us and get to play in CFP?
/s
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:56 PM ^
No...Minnesota hasn't made it yet

December 2nd, 2018 at 4:25 PM ^
They’re just a year out now with fleck at the helm!
/s
December 2nd, 2018 at 4:29 PM ^
And neither has our biggest rival, Rutger.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:20 PM ^
So tired of this matchup
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:21 PM ^
Lay a turd in your last game you get a shit bowl as a reward.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:21 PM ^
The football Gods are telling us that we'll never again play a bowl out West and are stuck in the purgatory of playing Southeastern teams in the Southeast until we beat OSU.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:21 PM ^
I’m glad they dogged the offense after the announcement. Maybe we’ll open up the damn playbook.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:22 PM ^
Sucking hind tit again. Yum.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:22 PM ^
Boring as fuck. No reason to even televise it.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:22 PM ^
In 4 seasons under Harbaugh, we have our second NYD6-quality bowl.
In the previous 8, we only appeared in one. I’m not over the moon over playing Florida again, but this is still ultimately a good thing.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:24 PM ^
Fuck a NY6 bowl, they mean nothing to anyone but the teams playing in them.
Win a damn championship, conference or otherwise.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:42 PM ^
I'm probably a minority, but if we keep finishing in the the top ten, like we did this year, by definition we have a consistent top ten program, and that is ok with me. If I had to choose between a universal opinion of our program as top ten every year, or winning a championship once but not maintaining that, I'd choose not to win a championship.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:39 PM ^
The Peach Bowl has exactly zero prestige. It should be relegated to being the g5's NY6 Bowl forever.
December 2nd, 2018 at 5:04 PM ^
I follow CFB rather closely and I didn't know the Peach was one of the NY6. You are right - it has zero prestige. And shouldn't a NY6 game be played on Jan 1? If it were, it would probably gain some prestige. And I don't care that the 29th is a Saturday.
December 2nd, 2018 at 5:26 PM ^
If that’s the case it has the same prestige as the Cotton and Fiesta which are often not on the 1st. I agree that by name it’s the least historic but all NY6 other than the Rose are now equal.
December 2nd, 2018 at 7:48 PM ^
Eh it's factually the same but let's be real. The Peach Bowl doesn't have much for a history. From reading the Wiki page it looks like it never had a top ten matchup until 2005 and never did again until the playoff. Traditionally about as prestigious as the Citrus or Holiday bowls. When you compare that to some of the absolute classics in college football history that have happened at the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, Cotton, and Orange Bowls you definitely get the feeling that it's an afterthought in comparison. And when it's not hosting the playoff it still tends to get the worst matchup. It's hosted the g5 at large bid twice already in five years. Even still, the primary complaint from me is our opponent. The Bowl being the most forgettable of them all just adds insult to injury.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:23 PM ^
Now we know why Gene Smith was smiling so much. Florida gets a revenge game. On the plus side, we recruit well out of Florida. Win the game. Go Blue !
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:23 PM ^
This is bad, and the committee should feel bad.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:23 PM ^
This is so fucking lame, have us play LSU in the Fiesta Bowl whom we haven't played and out of the SEC region FFS.
Send CFU to play Fla in an all Florida shit bowl, fuck you CFP committee!!!
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:51 PM ^
Exactly. Reward UCF with a "close to home game" for going undefeated and let them play for their state championship.
December 2nd, 2018 at 4:19 PM ^
Along the lines of what you said... if they're looking to reward teams, why not reward UCF with the chance to take over their state? Outside of playing in the CFP, what better reward for UCF than that?
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:23 PM ^
Maybe I’m just Salty and still pisses but what a let down in only a week.
No Big10 Championship
No Rose Bowl
No College Football Playoff
No Fiesta Bowl
No LSU
YES - Florida again and a Peach Bowl Bid.
Wow I can’t believe the committee wouldn’t send us to the fiesta vs LSU and let the Florida schools battle. That UCF and LSU game w be empty in Arizona. I will get over it but damn I’m feeling sick in less then a week.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:25 PM ^
John Beilein putting the university on his back.
December 2nd, 2018 at 4:00 PM ^
That makes me feel better. It really does.
Basketball is our shining bright spot.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:24 PM ^
well, at least it's not three times in one year, like what happened with UCLA back in the day...although that time, we got to go to Pasadena for the rubber match
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:24 PM ^
Stay home. I'll be in attendance. It's very difficult to earn a spot in a NY6 Bowl on the 29th!
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:25 PM ^
Great, let’s try not to get embarrassed again. Really try.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:26 PM ^
Just another example of how Michigan does not have any voices in or around that room that matter. Bama Georgia etc always basically get a home game in Atlanta or Texas or Florida. Kinda pisses me off the more I think of it.
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:28 PM ^
I’ll be there
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:30 PM ^
If they wanted a bowl with the least amount of interest from the Michigan fanbase, they got it.
From our vantage, Florida is a yawner since we’ve beaten them soundly twice in the last three seasons. Florida may have an entirely different view. One game Revenge Tour for them.
