We still had a great season

10-2, with losses to 2 NY6/CFP teams. Yes, the last loss was bad, but we still beat PSU/MSU/Wisconsin and also had a top5 defense otherwise. Today was a total anomaly.

But go ahead, keep being upset at the program and where things are at. Today was a bad day, but the sun will rise tomorrow.

100% Correct.  No doubt it is anyone's right to be frustrated, mad, upset, etc at the results of this game today.  But I prefer to think about two things... (1) no matter how disappointed I am, the team is significantly more disappointed and (2) as Bo once said as a part of this team we are supposed to encourage each other.  That is what I intend to do.  Go Blue!

Maybe the new motto should be, “those who stay to get a PhD., come back to coach and retire late, may eventually be champions - but no guarantees.”

I'd agree if we looked good  and fought hard, but we were unprepared and got blown out. OSU had a game plan to exploit our weaknesses, and we showed up and played it by ear. I'm sick and tired of never being able to win the big game. With this team, there is no excuse for what happened today. Heads need to roll in this coaching staff starting with Hamilton and maybe even Harbaugh himself.

Good not great. 1-2 against our rivals and the one win we did have is currently tied 7-7 late in the third quarter against a 1-10 Rutgers. Also, no championships to speak of. 10-2 is a great season if you have lower expectations. This is Michigan, not Michigan State.

Very good but not great.

Program is headed in the right direction and it will take as much time as necessary to build an elite program without the SEC standards. Make no mistake, OSU has sold out to SEC standards.

Next year is crucial. Leverage the 2019 class and strong roster to win the B1G with a favorable home schedule.

It's nice to see them with 10 wins, but another season without winning a Big Ten championship (or at least the East Division) and no CPF is a disappointment. It really leaves me with a meh feeling.

I don't know if I'd say great, but it was pretty damned good.  There were a lot of great moments, and I had a lot of fun watching this team play most of the season.

It was a shit season. You ass clowns boast about your overall dominance of college football and always have....except your do.inance was over before your grandpatents were born. Enjoy the mediacrity assholes. Truth and you know it.

Season was a failure plain and simple. Only beat 1/3 rivals, didn't make or win the B1G championship, and did not make the playoff.

The well shucks, we weren't expected to and this wasn't so bad is the mentality of why this crap is acceptable in the first place.

No. No it isn’t. Any season that includes a loss to OSU can not be considered great. If they had lost to Maryland last week and we were on our way to the B1G championship game, and still lost to OSU, it would not be a great season. This is 50+ years of Michigan football saying this. It is indisputably the truth.

I, for one, really enjoyed this season. Saw a team that loved playing together and won some games I didn’t think were going to be won prior to the start of the season.

Of course OSU put together the perfect game today.  Why would it have been any different?  They have a very high level of talent.  They slept walk through the season and then finally decided to put a complete game together today.  Yippee skippy for them.

Losing to those fuckers again sucks ass. However, It’s out of my control so I’m moving on.

Go Blue forever!

Trying to hold on to Bo is ruining the program. Michigan will lose the bowl game as usual. Season is a failure.

As an alum and fan for over 40 years, this sucks and is getting old.  But of course I feel pretty good about next year and plan on being at the Big House next year against osu.  We will win.  We have to win.  Alas, being a diehard Michigan fan has its ups and downs.  Let's finish with a solid bowl win.

GO BLUE!!

You must be a completely happy and calm person. I respect and admire you for that outlook. You, however, are just wrong with your overall take and acceptance

I think we overachieved this year and OSU underachieved. They exploited Our nickel back many times and we should have switched up much sooner to zone or Ambry Thomas at the nickel. We never learned the hurry up offense and it hurt several times today. It was surprising at the lack of D line pressure today. Both OSU lines outplayed our lines.

Win the bowl game and keep recruiting faster players. Next year will be special

If you told me 10-2 with bookend losses I would have said “you’re rational but I fucking hate you”. And here we sit today.

Nice season, I’ll save my rant about why we can’t break through for another day, tonight I’m just going to concede...

This season will only be a good memory IF we flip the scrip on ND and OSU next year and take care of MSU again. AND the players show they learned from today.

Going into the season, I was hoping for 9-3 with a win at MSU. Didn't expect to win at ND or OSU at the time. NOW it hurts, but this is proof you have to put everything into ONE game during the off-season, even if it means a slip up at Iowa or Purdue.

Significant improvement in our biggest weakness with the OLine. Improvement of 2-3 wins over last year. Re-establish our position above MSU and PSU at least. Overall, I think it was in line with preseason expectations. Maybe a bit better but we also didn't expect MSU and WI to be 7-5 meh teams.

The defensive implosion and our paleolithic offensive approach will get a lot of the attention but in the end the most important thing is talent. Recruiting is improved although this loss may result in some setbacks. There's still a massive gap between our recruiting and OSU's and the talent difference was obvious. OSU will always give maximum effort in this game (unlike Purdue or Iowa) and has better talent. So how do you win? Either we have to drastically outcoach them or just get lucky and have a ton of breaks go our way. THat's a formula for winning once every 5 to 10 years against OSU. When we were winning games against OSU we had similar or even slightly better talent, particularly at QB. Not a big mystery, and our recruiting is quite good, but if that gap doesn't close OSU will keep owning us {unless OSU gets a shittier coach}.

It will be decent IF we beat Georgia in the Peach Bowl. Still had a turf-scratching win at MSU, plus big wins vs. UW and PSU (games that meant something at the time).

Now I'm hoping for either Okie to beat out OSU for the 4th spot or Bama doing a Purdue on OSU.

Wisconsin and Sparty sucked this year. PSU was a shell of the team that boat raced Michigan last year.

The B1G is markedly down and the revenging that was accomplished was, at the time, satisfying.

As we look back, we can see it was all a mirage. Crappy teams in a down year
