Date Title Body
04/25/2018 - 10:19pm Great Sand Dunes National Park

is my favorite from the ones I've ever visited. 5 dunes over 700 feet high with the highest being 750 feet high. It's really amazing to see in person. It's like being on another planet.

The ones I want to visit the most would be Isle Royale National Park and Redwoods National Park.

04/12/2018 - 10:55pm I stream

I've had Sling, Hulu TV, Vue, and DirecTV Now.

DirecTV Now has the best selection of channels. Vue has the best streaming quality IMO. Sling was okay. Not a fan of Hulu TV. It wouldn't stop buffering more often than not.

04/03/2018 - 11:55pm Not the best mock...

Packers need an LB and CB more than they need a WR.

04/03/2018 - 11:38pm Meh...

It wasn't tired legs. It was Nova having a guy that was red hot and his teammates making sure he got the ball.

12/03/2017 - 1:03pm It could be 6 teams, but....

the top 2 teams would have to get byes to the semifinal. 8 teams would be more entertaining.

-Conference champs from the P5 schools get auto bid and take slots 1-5.

6,7, and 8....

-Notre Dame auto bid if in top 8.

-Non-P5 conference champ gets auto bid if in top 10.

-Remaining slots got to top P5 teams.

-I would limit it to 3 teams for each conference in the 8 team playoff.

Round of 8 the higher ranked team hosts the week after the conference championship game. There could be a Friday night game and 3 games on Saturday.

Winners of Round of 8 go to aligned semi. Losers get placed in appropriate bowl game.

So it would look like...

Penn State (Wld Card #3)* at Clemson (ACC Champ)

Wisconsin (Wild Card #2) at Oklahoma (Big 12 Champ)

Alabama (Wild Card #1) at Georgia (SEC Champ)

USC (Pac 12 Champ) at Ohio State (Big 10 Champ)

*Based on how badly Auburn lost in the SEC game I'd give the third wild card spot to Penn State.

10/22/2017 - 1:57pm I don't think...

people should be mellow or accepting of what is happening.

Yeah most people had them as an 8 to 10 win team, which they're in line to be, but nobody had Michigan State as a loss and most thought the Penn State game would be a respectable loss. Outside of the Florida win they've looked meh in victory. Inexperience really isn't it. It's the play calling and the lack of a killer instinct from the players.

Coaches seem to have a one size fits all approach to play calling, which on it's own is dumb, but especially on offense where they lack an identity. On defense, as good as Brown is, he gaffed big time last night by not calling more zone. Penn State owned the middle of the field. It seemed like most of the night it was the QB taking off from 10+ yard runs and quick slants for 10+ yards.

The killer instinct (or lack of it): It's not all of the guys, but enough to be noticeable. Outside of the Florida game the starts have been flat. Thankfully Michigan got it together quick enough last night to make it somewhat of a game for about a quarter plus, but it really is inexcusable. I can see it against lesser conference teams and most out of conference schlub teams, not that it's acceptable then, but to look that flat against Michigan State and then Penn State...not acceptable. This team is going to get other team's best effort, and they aren't exceeding or even matching their opponent's focus and effort for a full 60.

10/22/2017 - 12:47pm I'd go with O'Korn

as the starter for the rest of the season. If they're in another blowout, which is possible, I'd give Peters some reps. Assuming they make it into a bowl game I'd give Peters at least a quarter.  There is no reason to throw him into the spotlight right now with this mess they have. Don't want to mess with a young QBs confidence.

10/22/2017 - 12:22pm Cole needs to move to center...

His athleticism, blocking abilities, and experience are better suited at center than LT in this system.

LT- Bredeson

LG- Kugler

C- Cole

RG-Onwenu

RT- Runyan Jr.

Looking at the +/- scoring they should consider bulking up Wheatley and making him an OT next season.

10/07/2017 - 11:48pm Well...

This is a young team, and I hope they learned some lessons that will stay with them for the rest of their time at Michigan...

3rd straight game they were sleep walking through the 1st half. Can't play for 30 minutes and expect to win. If they want to be champs they have to play extremely focused and at their highest intensity for 60 minutes.

Can't have 5 turnovers and expect to win. If they want to be champs they have to do a better job securing the ball.

As for the play calling...I expect better from this staff. They have to do a better job attacking their opponent’s weaknesses. Running between the tackles isn't it again MSU.

10/07/2017 - 9:14pm Yikes...

Sleep walking through another first half. I understand it against Air Force and Purdue, but against Michigan State...come on.

Play calling is terrible. MSU has over aggressive LBs. They completely sell out against the run...call some play action. Looks like they're mostly playing man...get some crossing routes and focus on the short passing game. Maybe call some screens.

On D force him to his left...get him throwing off his back foot.

12/31/2016 - 3:26pm Go Huskies

They have a mobile QB, some deep threats, and a decent D. Not saying they'll win, but it should be better than what the pundits say it will be.

12/30/2016 - 11:54pm Man

that missed 2 point conversion is a killer. Also not showing up for the 1st quarter and barely being conscious for 2-2 1/2 quarters after that hurts.

12/03/2016 - 3:06am Three teams are in...

Bama, Ohio State, and Washington...

Clemson wins and they're in.

Clemson loses and Wisconsin wins...Wisconsin is in the playoff and Michigan probably plays Clemson in the Orange Bowl. PSU gets the Rose Bowl.

Clemson loses and Penn State wins...Michigan should get into the playoff, Penn State plays Clemson in the Orange Bowl, and Wisconsin gets the Rose Bowl.

10/29/2016 - 3:26pm Wake the fuck up

Terrible 2nd half performance.

10/22/2016 - 11:47pm One of the better nights of my life...

Cubs get to the WS, Michigan is going to be the #2 team, and the Blackhawks had a great comeback. I still remember that 2003 NLCS Game 6 vividly. Screw you Alex Gonzalez. It was him not Bartman that costed them.

09/27/2016 - 11:02pm The point of polls...

is to rank the quality of teams in descending order like a power ranking. The average of FPI (or similar stat) and team efficiency is the best way in my opinion...it would look like this for the upcoming week:

1. Louisville

2. Alabama

3. Michigan

4. Ohio State

5. Florida State

6. Clemson

7. Texas A&M

8. Washington

9. Houston

10. Stanford

11. Boise State

12. Miami (FL)

13. Ole Miss

14. Colorado

15. LSU

16. Kansas State

17. Wisconsin

18. Western Michigan

19. UCLA

20. Tennessee

21. Baylor

22. North Carolina

23. Auburn

24. Iowa

25. Oklahoma State

09/25/2016 - 7:58pm My money...

is on Petrino or Briles at LSU. I think Herman would only leave Houston for Texas or USC.

09/23/2016 - 7:10pm Cult-like...

Pretty sure it is a cult, and they're wasted on Joe Pa Kool Aid.

09/17/2016 - 11:32pm ND is...

a tire fire, and the funny thing is that before NSD 2016 they gave Kelly a 6 year extension. No doubt their D was terrible, but outside of the 4th quarter their O play calling was just as bad. MSU isn't bad, but they aren't great. If Michigan approaches that game with a pass heavy attack they should win by double digits. Even though Oklahoma normally craps the bed in big games and doesn't look that good, Ohio State looks legit.

09/17/2016 - 10:33pm ND is doing...

what they should have been doing the entire game...abandoning the run and sticking to the pass.

09/17/2016 - 10:12pm That's what I ask myself...

If I was an OC going up against MSU I'd throw the ball 90% of the time, and at least 75% of those passes would be on play action.

09/13/2016 - 5:03pm ND...

with Kizer at QB is a really good team. They should win...30-13.

09/12/2016 - 10:22am I was a junior in high school

outside of Chicago. There were rumors durng 2nd period that something happened in NYC. In 3rd period, which was gym class for me, there was a formal announcement.

09/10/2016 - 12:42pm It's nice having a coaching staff...

that is quick to make adjustments. The run isn't there, so focus on throwing the ball and slowly work the running game back in. On defense it would be nice to see single safety high with a safety moving down to take away the one thing they have...QB runs.

09/01/2016 - 8:32pm Yeah, except...

the promotion is officially titled "Commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Coach Joe Paterno"...

  • Commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Coach Joe Paterno - Activities during the game will take place to commemorate Joe Paterno's first game as the head football coach at Penn State -- September 17, 1966.

http://www.gopsusports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/m-footbl-promotions…

An enabler of child rape is still being put on a pedestal and worshipped...it's disturbing. PSU people don't get it or just don't care.

The time has passed for punishment, but every time PSU goes on the road. wherever they go, the team hosting them needs to have a drive to raise funds for child abuse prevention.  I'm pretty sure the home team  would collect more than the $22k PSU raised during a game in 2011 (seriously $22k in a stadium that holds more than 100k people). Fuck PSU.

06/19/2016 - 3:01pm People forget that...

innocent and not guilty are two different things. There is no doubt that he did it, but between Garcetti playing politics with the setting of the trial, keystone cops, and overconfident prosecutors that got ambushed by the race card and didn't know how to counter it they botched the case. It was a triple case of incompetence. To make matters worse, they had a judge that was in way over his head.

I'm amazed that Cochran was able to play the race card so well with a black client that abandoned the black community. I mean he hung out with powerful, wealthy white people, left his black wife and hooked up with a white woman before the divorce was finished. I'm also amazed that Clark passed on two witnesses because one sold their story to Hard Copy and the other one was just ignored. They were Jill Shively and Skip Junis.

06/11/2016 - 10:10am Not drinking, and

Great Sand Dunes National Park. Dunes up to 750 feet high up against 13ers with views of multiple 14ers (the incredible Crestones and Blanca Massif). I've been there 3 times and each time it is overwhelming how massive the dunes are.

06/05/2016 - 12:51am Um...

Action: Die Hard

Comedy: Airplane!

Indie: Pulp Fiction

Documentary: The Two Escobars

05/05/2016 - 9:58pm Simple...

Birdemic. It makes The Room look like a masterpiece.

04/06/2016 - 12:57pm As a Blackhawks fan...

what he is doing is dumb. The chances he makes the big club are very, very slim and there is a lot of talent ahead of him. He'd be better off returning to Michigan for another season.

04/02/2016 - 6:01pm The stadium needs to get louder...

without messing with the stadium too much. Just add some angled panels around the end zones between the boxes and additional angled panels on top of the boxes to create a mini overhang. The skyboxes raised the dB from 100 to 110 which is pretty loud. Angled panels could raise it up to 120 dB or louder which is really loud.

03/07/2016 - 3:52pm I like the hire...

Illinois under Smith should be a lot like Iowa i.e. a consistent bowl team with 6 to 8 wins most seasons. A few years they'll have less than 6 wins and a few years they'll have more than 8 wins.

03/07/2016 - 3:49pm Billy Madison...

"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

02/22/2016 - 6:57pm Yippee...I'm late.

The SEC, ACC, and other haters are making a mountain out of a mole hill. We’re talking about a few practices which happen to be at a high school in Florida which is loaded with talent. If Michigan wasn’t going on the road they wouldn’t care, but Harbaugh is entering their bubble and they don’t like it.

The SEC and ACC are proposing a set of rules that are hypocritical in the sense that they would only affect football activities and not other sports as well as limiting fair competition by drawing lines that allow them to keep a monopoly on talent in the southeast. They should not be allowed to limit the self-funded by the book attempts of a northern school or any school to increase their exposure to young athletes in the South.

The NCAA should be promoting what Harbaugh is doing because it puts the guys in a safe environment where they can still have some fun and get some sun while practicing now which allows them to have time off for finals. In terms of satellite camps it takes away the shady side of recruiting and gives unknowns a chance to be seen.

02/09/2016 - 5:48pm This...

Take away the helmets. You aren't going to be launching yourself like a missle or playing reckless when your noggin is exposted.

02/06/2016 - 2:59pm Harbaugh...

is the man. This satellite camp idea, especially the camp at IMG this spring, is outside of the box, but within the rules. Haters are gonna hate because it's great thinking. If they're going to stop satellite camps, which they shouldn't because nobody is stop other programs from doing them, they better crack down on the SEC's overuse of the medical redshirt and paying off players.

As for MSU fans, they know the blip on the screen has been flxed and they're close to returning to mediocrity now that Michigan has a competent coach and back to back competent ADs.

02/06/2016 - 2:33pm I wish I could call it tragic, but

if you were paying attention you could see that at some point a train wreck would occur.

From a football perspective his style at A&M was running around and lobbing it up.  In terms of character, he's  cocky and self-absorb. He's a man-child who was probably never told no and was always treated like a god until he got to the NFL. He needs to spend some time in jail and or rehab, get plenty of counseling, and hopefully he'll overcome his demons.

01/28/2016 - 5:40pm Getting a college degree...

is basically signing yourself up for future enslavement to debt for the majority of people. You need a degree to get a basic professional job, but they nickel and dime you for it.  It is bullshit.

01/28/2016 - 5:34pm Your accomplishment...

isn't a big deal...

http://blogs.mprnews.org/oncampus/2011/03/working-through-school-1968-v…

01/16/2016 - 4:27pm Alrighty...

KC over NE...KC is red hot while NE is not.

GB over AZ....total homer pick, not going to root against GB.

Car over Sea....Sea held off Min last week but I don't expect them to hold off Car this week.

Den over Pit...Pit is really banged up. I give the edge to Den.

01/02/2016 - 6:31pm Not drinking...

and the fight will be over within 30 seconds like a lot of UFC fights. Looking forward to Oregon and TCU.

01/01/2016 - 8:42pm I'm shocked...

Michigan State and Iowa got their asses handed to them by superior teams after getting lucky all season (MSU) and not being challenged (Iowa). After the bowl games it is clear that Ohio State and Michigan are 1-2 in the Big Ten. In a fair universe MSU would have had 3 or 4 losses and Ohio State would have beaten Iowa by at least 3 TDs in the B1G Championship Game.

01/01/2016 - 8:34pm If possible...but probably not possible...

that flag needs to be planted on the top of Cerro Aconcagua.

OT: Coming back to the cold and much short days of North American winter is going to suck. It is tougher than any jet lag I have ever dealt with.

01/01/2016 - 5:36pm What a great 24 hours...

2015 ended great and 2016 began great. After this win and the phiosophy of their new DC, I am really looking forward to the 2016 season. Onwards to recruiting.

01/01/2016 - 5:01pm I think it...

should go back to the way it used to be with the polls running through the bowl games. It will never happen because a playoff system will generate more money.

As for the lower ratings, they should have put the games on Saturday. There is nothing else on and not a whole lot to do.

01/01/2016 - 12:52am MSU by a mile

ND had a better resume and that Bama team was better than this Bama team. Not only was their defense great, but their offense was incredible They probably had one of the best O-lines in the history of college football. Every O-lineman on that team is currently on an NFL team and two of them are starters. They were better at QB (McCarron>Coker). They had Eddy Lacy, TJ Yeldon, Amari Cooper, and Kevin Norwood at the skill positions.

What if sports 3 sims...2015 MSU v. 2012 Bama at a neutral site...

#1= Bama 30-6

#2=Bama 47-0

#3= Bama 64-3

You get the picture...

This MSU team is one of the luckiest teams to have ever played the game. It caught up with them tonight.

01/01/2016 - 12:33am What a great way

to end 2015. Let's begin 2016 with a win.

01/01/2016 - 12:17am The tears of...

Michigan State fans.

12/25/2015 - 1:15am Favorite Football Player of All Time

Did great things at Michigan and was a huge reason the Packers won a Super Bowl. He also seems like a really classy guy. 1st ballot HoFer without any doubt.

12/24/2015 - 10:21am It is also...

extremely dry, spring blizzards are the norm, landlocked and very brown, and pretty boring if you aren't into hill walking (true mountaineering is limited to a handful of mountains out there that are extremely difficult to get to and it is only possible for only a few months a year), mountain biking, and or skiing/snowboarding.
