It is probably true and hope he recovers. Him and his wife are still liars who didn't have the decency to help another human being and did not have the guts to tell the truth. No health issue will change that. But I truly hope he recovers and reevaluates what is important in life.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:36 PM ^
This is the correct reply
October 30th, 2018 at 3:43 PM ^
"But I truly hope he recovers and reevaluates what is important in life."
Wasn't that what he said he would do the last time he quit his career for "health reasons?"
October 31st, 2018 at 11:09 AM ^
So true, both things can coexist. He can be a guy you feel bad for him and his family about his health problems also he can be a total dip shit lier at the same time.
He really should have stayed retired, there is no way that being a head coach at OSU is good for his health.

Wondering what percentage of Buckeye fans will use this as an excuse if we beat them
October 30th, 2018 at 5:41 PM ^
Probably all of the percentage.
October 30th, 2018 at 6:29 PM ^
How many "lucky breaks" have the Buckeyes caught since 2001?
October 30th, 2018 at 3:35 PM ^
Zach Smith has a cyst on his dick
October 30th, 2018 at 3:36 PM ^
He may just have a micropenis.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:49 PM ^
No...it’s just a cyst...
October 30th, 2018 at 6:25 PM ^
I hear they make a sparkly lifter for those now.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:36 PM ^
Next stop, USC!
October 30th, 2018 at 5:44 PM ^
Yep. The warm weather and laid back California lifestyle by the ocean will be sold as important emotional health and stress level benefits to aid his condition. Blue blood program across the country tracking around .500, current team performing below their normal levels due to poor assistant coaching, health issues...it's deja vu all over again.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:41 PM ^
Someone might have already written this but that Columbus Cyst he has, assuming it is real and causing Urban the problems he says it is, might be the work of KARMA for all of his lies and cover ups in the past.
Just saying.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:08 PM ^
Either that, or shit just happens.
October 30th, 2018 at 6:31 PM ^
If karma existed, then Michigan would not have such a bad record against OSU this century.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:42 PM ^
I can't imagine what it'd be like to have severe headaches that pop up whenever they feel like. That said, the timing of this is clearly to mitigate the other issues going on. I have sympathy for his physical pain the emotional toll that can take, but not for the public situation he's created.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:06 PM ^
Well I can, as I have had migraines my whole adult life. I've lost days of my life due to them. I really wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy...even Urban Meyer.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:45 PM ^
Wish him the best of luck in his health.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:46 PM ^
The amount of people on this thread rejoicing about this or something close is staggering. Be better, people.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:15 PM ^
So maybe I'm not the best person ever. I can tell you that I'd have more sympathy if Meyer wasn't an objectively terrible human being.
Also, I don't doubt the veracity of these statements, but the fact is that he's announcing health issues right about the time we were all expecting some "health issues".
October 30th, 2018 at 4:44 PM ^
It's probably true and there's no reason to not believe him, but that doesn't change the fact that it's very odd that this is all coming out now and that nobody's ever heard about this before (he claimed to have heart problems at Florida, didn't he?) And on top of that, the timing is hard to ignore. VERY hard to ignore.
October 30th, 2018 at 7:16 PM ^
he claimed to have heart problems at Florida, didn't he?
The arachnoid cyst was actually way before Florida. Urban said he had his first episode back in the 90s when he was still a WR coach for Notre Dame when he collapsed during a blinding headache.
Since then, he has had the brain cyst surgically drained 2-3 times and most recently during the 2014 offseason. The surgery has a lot of risks, so they usually only do it when the pain becomes unbearable to function. Otherwise, they attempt to manage the pain with medications... which also happens to be the medications blamed for Urban's memory loss.
Also, as a side note... Urban complained of "heart attack-like" pain while he was at Florida, which was later diagnosed to be stress-induced "esophageal spasms." One of the common symptoms of esophageal spasms is chest pain.
October 30th, 2018 at 5:46 PM ^
The fact is that he's announcing health issues right about the time we were all expecting some "health issues".
I mean to be fair, Urban has been peppered with questions about it since he collapsed during the game 2-3 weeks ago. Eventually, Urban was going to have to give a definitive answer as to what happened.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:18 PM ^
Really? Urban Meyer is a piece of shit human being that has done more damage than dozens of bad people. His contribution to the filthy corruption that college football is becoming is almost unforgivable.
There isn't a lot of justice in the world.
I am always happy when I see some dished out.
October 30th, 2018 at 6:33 PM ^
I want justice, too, but this is not justice. This is stuff happening. Justice would be a termination and a 10 year show-cause penalty from the NCAA.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:25 PM ^
meh, i’m not exactly happy that he has health issues (which may actually be real this time), but i’m also not not enjoying the fact that a self-righteous douchebag is suffering a bit. it seems almost karmic, as he’s been more than willing to disregard the suffering of others so long as his team keeps winning.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:25 PM ^
I started thinking that we should be better people, but he's the boy who cried wolf. You can only lie so many times before people don't believe you and actually hope for the worst. If this thing is going to kill him and cripple him I feel bad. If he's using it to garner public sympathy after being a scumbag then....
Edit: Took me a minute to finish my post and three other people all said the same thing. It is hard for someone to be this unsympathetic.
October 30th, 2018 at 3:57 PM ^
Obviously most of us dont want to see anyone seriously hurt or sick..but fuck this guy man. What a chump...how can anyone believe him at all anymore.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:04 PM ^
When Urban needs to spin a story, he turns to his information minister Pete Thamel. Pass on any Urban story from Thamel.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:05 PM ^
Really hope he gets well as even dirtbags should not have to deal with chronic pain. That said, I hope Chase doesn't go all "little cyster" on OSU.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:12 PM ^
I hope he tanks recruiting for the next guy
October 30th, 2018 at 4:12 PM ^
conscience....... I doubt he has one.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:24 PM ^
It's why Ryan Day was named Coach-in-waiting back in September.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:33 PM ^
He's a POS but I don't like seeing anyone suffer with medical issues. I wish him the best in recovery.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:34 PM ^
Is there a link to an actual story or was this just a tweet,? I'm curious if he has meningioma. My wife does, and she has to have periodic ct scans until it's so big it has to be removed. And thankfully it's benign in most cases.
October 30th, 2018 at 4:58 PM ^
best of luck to Mrs. Hotel Putingrad
October 30th, 2018 at 6:30 PM ^
Thanks, DJLB. The neurologist said they typically grow very slowly. Could be a decade before it’s problematic, but she already suffers from anxiety, so I don’t imagine living with a growing brain tumor is helping matters. Just monitor the situation and keep hoping for the best

October 30th, 2018 at 9:16 PM ^
100% agree. Many here seem to think that refusing to derive pleasure or glee from his health problems is not an endorsement of his past actions.
October 31st, 2018 at 4:59 AM ^
Full disclosure, Buckeye fan here. I popped on to catch the reaction from the other side. Frankly, it IS disgusting. If something were to happen to Harbaugh, yes there would be a percentage of OSU fans that would have a similar reaction to what is going on here, but I can almost guarantee that it would not be close to the 90%+ that I see here.
October 31st, 2018 at 11:39 AM ^
Unfortunately, I think you underestimate the amount of people that would genuinely take joy out of a situation like that. When things like this happen, most of the comments on social media or boards like this are from the lowest of a fan base that want to be the funny guy or truly have so much hate that they can’t separate football and real life.
When I saw the story I have to admit I was a little skeptical and even thought to myself that the timing does seem convenient given the way everything is playing out. I do not wish any ill will on urban Meyer and find no joy in his pain.
October 30th, 2018 at 5:01 PM ^
Joel Klatt and Cowherd said he was going west a month back. USC is where he is going. The warm weather will help with the cyst.
October 30th, 2018 at 5:05 PM ^
I don't know man. 7th consecutive year at Ohio State. 77-9 thus far. His longest coaching stint yet. He just doesn't seem like that happy, fiery self anymore. Wha happon?
October 30th, 2018 at 5:06 PM ^
Let's check in with Jim Harbaugh everyone....coach, what say you?
October 30th, 2018 at 5:16 PM ^
Jeez, this thread is disgusting. That's a serious problem and can cause lifelong issues, of the 'make you crazy and/or demented' variety. I knew someone who had it and it was as if he'd had a stroke: he was mostly fine but not really. I feel bad for the guy and hope he recovers and Harbaugh kicks his ass at full-strength.
October 30th, 2018 at 7:29 PM ^
Agree. These things can really fuck with your cystem.
October 30th, 2018 at 5:18 PM ^
reminds me of Joe versus the Volcano's brain cloud.......

The movie sucked but Meg Ryan was scrumptious
