Breaking news: Lane Kiffin has been relieved of his duties as USC's head football coach per AD Pat Haden.

It had to be done. The decline was too much for an alleged historical program like USC.

Was always wary of the hire, especially when he had only been at Tennessee for one year with mediocre results.

Is anyone listening to this foolish woman on ESPN?!  She says that no one in the country wants the USC job, that the teams has no "players", that they'll have trouble recruiting.  Is ESPN even listening to what is coming out of their presenters mouths?

but I stopped watching the World Wide Leader a few years ago. I can't stand anyone on that network with the exception of live sporting events and PTI (It's a guilty pleasure, I know... I enjoy the banter, Kornheiser cracks me up).

Since ABC bought ESPN, it has really gone to hell.

Al Davis ruined the Raiders, Kiffin actually had a half decent drafting plan his first year that Davis killed. Not a Kiffin fan by any means but blaming him for Al Davis completely losing his shit and no-one being able to get him out is a pretty far bridge.

Here is the brief official announcement from USC - LINK

"Haden informed Kiffin of his termination upon the team charter's arrival back in Los Angeles early Sunday morning following USC's 62-41 loss at Arizona State."

There will be a press conference this afternoon, it says, conducted by Pat Haden. I think there was a thread where a lot of us though that this would happen perhaps a third or a quarter of the way into the season. I am proud to say that MGoBlog more or less called it.

I believe that makes Kiffin 28-15 for his career at USC, which is pretty subpar as USC head coaching performances go...

Mmmm Hmmm

Yes, Who Is Pat Fitzgerald is correct for $200.

For $400, the correct question is "Who is Kirby Smart?"

For $600, the correct question is "Who is Gary Patterson?"

For $800, the correct question is "Who is Chris Peterson?"

For $1,000, the correct question is "Who is an established coach who has a great situation that has zero incentive to leave the excellent situation they are in besides the perceived increased prestige of USC over their current school?"
