Go Blue! This is the biggest game since the Fisher era.

mere coincidence, IMO. IU and KU are perennial contenders.
January 30th, 2013 at 11:01 PM ^
KU, yes. But prior to this year, Indiana had not been a top 5 team in a long time. Bob Knight's last several teams didn't do much, and neither did Mike Davis's (aside from one surprise Final Four run). And then came the Kelvin Sampson disaster.

Saturday is gonna be a real fun day of college basketball. Got to go steal one on the road.
January 30th, 2013 at 8:42 PM ^
All the pressure is on the Hoosiers to hold serve at home. Hoping we play loose and get after it. Cmon 9PM Saturday!! Anybody know who's calling the game?

Gonna be a tough, tough game to win, but we're playing as good (or better) than anyone in the country.

Beat the Hoosiers + the Ref's.
Fixed it.

Purdue is to Indiana what Sparty is to Michigan. Atleast in terms of basketball, Indiana could care less about football.

January 30th, 2013 at 9:11 PM ^
How much less could they care? Are we talking about a lot...or just a little? I'm curious.

I'm pretty sure the Care Scale is like the Kelvin scale, so when your level of care reaches Absolute Zero Care, you can not, in actuality, care less.
January 30th, 2013 at 9:25 PM ^
Indiana fans care about football. They just root for ND instead of their own school.
January 30th, 2013 at 11:07 PM ^
So very true.
January 30th, 2013 at 10:08 PM ^
So you're saying that basketball is not their lowest priority. What do they care about less than basketball?
January 30th, 2013 at 8:52 PM ^
The Sagarin predictor would have us as a 2 point underdog in Indiana, but the Massey ratings predict a slightly better than 50% chance (by this, I mean 52%) win probability and a one point margin in Michigan's favor. When some of the best models out there disagree, it should be a very interesting game.
That being said, let's make it 21-1, folks.

After Brian quoted Sherman from Northwestern's "Sippin' on Purple" earlier today, I was curious what they'd have to say after the game. And here it is:
Let's be real: Northwestern played alright there. If they didn't miss so many bunnies, they'd have lost this game like, by ten-ish. It's tough to argue with Michigan being the No. 1 team in the country when you see the way they played in the first half tonight. Northwestern hit a nice percentage of their shots, considering, and sort of got hands up on defense, and yet, bang. Everything fell for Michigan, and there weren't many open shots for Northwestern. If NU had played their best half of the year, they'd have been down five. Instead, they were down 15.
The praise from Northwestern was great, but well, its only Northwestern. Yes, the win over Northwestern was good, and Michigan was outstanding to begin the game. Nonetheless, I'm really looking forward to Indiana. This will be the biggest test so far. As Hoke and Mattison and many others have said, to be the best you have to beat the best. I'd really love to see Michigan take the Hoosiers down in Assembly Hall.
