The Levenberry prediction/decision open thread
While there are just as many factors that say he'll choose us as there are that he'll choose FSU, I'm going to say I think he goes FSU by a whisker, unfortunately. Two reasons: first, we don't offer a Criminal Justice major, which according to Tim at Rivals he very much wants to major in, and second, all of his Dad's comments, while absolutely glowing about Hoke and Michigan, kinda sound to me like what the Bachelor says about the girl that comes in second: "she's an amazing girl, absolutely fantastic, she has big things ahead of her and some lucky guy is really going to be fortunate to get her." Not that I know (ahem) anything about the Bachelor, my wife must have told me about that...

Maize and blue just looks right on him.

If EJ goes to FSU, you must remove all pics of him wearing that jersey. I will HULK OUT if he goes to FSU and this pic is still around.

Maybe the University should kill the computer science department to make room for a criminal ustice department

I'm getting that puke taste in my mouth just reading this. I need TUMS...
April 24th, 2012 at 10:36 AM ^
As others have kind of said, we could really use EJ's talent, but not necessarily at this position. If we get him, GREAT, if not then I will start getting excited about who else we can go after with his schollie. He's a great player, but not a "can't miss" right now.

But I really hope I'm wrong!!

It's Michigan.
April 24th, 2012 at 10:42 AM ^
Wow, a pessimistic bunch. Unfortunately, I'm with you. FSU by a nose. We're in good shape either way, though.
April 24th, 2012 at 10:45 AM ^
Nobody knows what you're talking about. We don't watch the Bachelor. I've never seen it. Seriously I've never seen it. Your reference makes no sense to me because I've never watched the Bachelor, and it certainly would make people think lesser of me were I ever to admit I watched the Bachelor -- which I do not.

and they're saying UFM cooled on Levenberry, so Ohio State was a non-committable offer.
April 24th, 2012 at 11:52 AM ^
I don't think there was enough mutual interest there for there to even be speculations about who could've "cooled" on whom. He never visited, to anyone's knowlede never talked to OSU very much, and just didn't didn't show much interest. In the same respect, he likely got a verbal offer because he's a top prospect at his position, and the staff wanted to see if any interest built. Our staff, like yours, knows better than to waste efforts putting the press on a player who isn't interested. See: Robert Foster.
April 24th, 2012 at 12:26 PM ^
Apparently both staffs weren't so much wary of wasting time with Robert Foster as they were noping their way out of town.
April 24th, 2012 at 10:49 AM ^
Seminoles, just because he doesn't really hold a "committable offer" from Michigan.

Boom Urban Meyer'd
He doesn't recruit outside the Rivals top 10.
Tracy Sprinkle argues otherwise.
April 24th, 2012 at 10:50 AM ^
Even though he loved his time in AA, he is going to choose FSU because of the major. Bring on Poggi!!!
April 24th, 2012 at 10:54 AM ^
Mike Farrell is saying he's going to FSU. Posted on The Fort earlier this morning. Farrell's write up of the situation still leaves it open (he posted an article on Rivals about it), but I think it's a done deal. The kid is going to FSU.
April 24th, 2012 at 11:10 AM ^
At this point I only want him to choose Michigan so that Farrell is wrong. He's been saying all along that Levenberry is going to FSU when I don't think Levenberry even knew where he was going, and I don't want him to be right for a lucky guess.
April 24th, 2012 at 11:40 AM ^
B-b-bu-b-bu-but he's the "Godfather of recruiting." He's such a kind and humble man!

Fuck you are right. His comments in the article say it all. He's a Seminol.
April 24th, 2012 at 11:25 AM ^
I don't think those comments are revealing at all. I'm not saying he'll choose Michigan, but you can find whatever you want in those comments, whether you're optimistic or pessimistic.
April 24th, 2012 at 11:29 AM ^
You sir, are an idiot. i said in his post on The Fort he said it's going to be FSU, but his article left it vague. Thanks for negbombing though. Just passing along premium info is all.
April 24th, 2012 at 10:56 AM ^
Florida State and here's why: in the past year, when we've had a day like this - recruit choosing between Michigan and one or two other schools - the recruit inevitably picks the other school. If there's someone I'm missing who picked Michigan under these circumstances, speak up. It's karma.

Jarrod Wilson comes to mind. I doubt he was the only one.
April 24th, 2012 at 11:05 AM ^
It was said before and I'll say it again Levenberry is pure luxury at this point. If we don't get him I won't be discouraged at all. We have great depth at linebacker, yes maybewe could use one more to sure up the strong side, but we will be fine. I would love to pull this kid though he is a great talent. We could use another blocking tightend I think if we don't get him that position is pretty shaky right now.
April 24th, 2012 at 11:08 AM ^
If Levenberry chooses FSU like many of us feel he will, is it everyones opinion that we are done at LB or does Michael Hutchings still have a committable offer? He expressed early interest in UM due to early contact with Hoke, and since Mathis has been hyping us, he seems to have renewed his interest. While I think it is an extreme longshot, the door for another LB may still be slightly open.
April 24th, 2012 at 11:11 AM ^
That is a good question, but I think in a way we are done with linebacker if we don't get levenberry but we still would take a Hutchings or a Kalambayi in the same way we would take levenberry. Like i said above another linebacker at this point is a luxury
