This was a great moment. It was one of those "messin' with your friends" thing, like jokingly being a jerk. I'm pretty sure you can see Shea smiling the entire time. It really shows the rapport and chemistry he's built with his teammates.

I loved it.

Alexis Texas sounds like a stripper from Fort Worth.

We should ask Tom Herman. I feel like he'd know for some reason...

I'm not going to say either of you are wrong. A little part of me did wonder how it benefited Michigan, but I didn't really dwell on that. As what's been said before, there's more to life than sports...

To be honest, it's very likely that I'm placing too much stock into a message board. I just don't want the standard on this blog to be, "something horrible happened with a rival school, lets see how this benefits Michigan." But seeing how many controversies/scandals have popped up in the Big Ten the last several years, it's bound to happen. I'm more pissed off about that than anything else, actually...

And, personally, I see this blog as a University of Michigan blog, not JUST a sports blog. But that's just like my opinion, man.

1. It's posts like these - ones that miss the point - that gives the blog a bad rap.

2. Why does the question even need to be asked? The ONLY answer to this is, "at worst, it has no effect."

Seriously, if your first thought was "recruiting advantage" after news broke, you need to rethink your priorities...

06/12/2017 - 1:32pm Change?!

But in all seriousness, this looks great!

I'd like to imagine him being like Terry Tate

I played against Northwestern's Kain Colter and Nebraska's Kenny Bell... Granted it was pee wee football, but I still think it's pretty cool... I played with Bell later in pee wee football as he moved cities

01/30/2016 - 6:44pm We still have tons of recruits on the board

There are so few spots left, we just can't have everyone. I mean, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

01/30/2016 - 1:24am Haven't gotten any new info on recruiting yet!

However, so far I have found out:

1) I'm a homosexual

2) Numerous 12 year-olds have had intercourse with my mother

3) I don't understand Russian

But don't worry, I'm still digging. El Fuego's on the case!

01/30/2016 - 1:05am These kinds of posts are tons of fun

01/28/2016 - 1:46pm Thanks for looking out!

I live outside of Denver, but I'm looking for jobs that are more sales/customer facing than a traditional engineering job (i.e sales engineer role) due to my skillset. I've got a couple interviews coming up, so hopefully my situation won't last long.

01/28/2016 - 1:09pm I graduated recently from UM...

With a degree in Aerospace engineering while being out of state. I was blindsided a month ago by being laid off due to downsizing efforts. While trying to find another job, I have strggled to get by the last few weeks because of my massive student loans (again, out of state). But by all means, please blame the few drinks I had after spending all nighters working on my degree, asshole...

01/26/2016 - 6:28pm Oh You...

01/25/2016 - 6:23pm I was born in that hospital...

Granted, several years before Manning was even with the Colts, but it still means a lot to me and many, many people in Indianapolis.

01/21/2016 - 3:46pm This may or may not add fuel to the fire...

But I played football with Kain when we were younger, and HS football at Fairview with former Nebraska WR Kenny Bell, who was good friends with Kain. Everyone knew that Kain was entitled, and he knew it too. He would always run to Daddy when something didn't go his way, and this went on into high school.

He played HS ball at Boulder until his dad (the head coach) was fired for being verbally abusive to his players. His family tried to spin it as something else to make the school look bad (can't remember what exactly) and Kain transfered to Cherry Creek. When a bad situation arrose, the family always tried to spin it as though they were not to blame, ever.

The point, I see a lot of parallels with this situation and Swenson's. Obviously, Swenson didn't have the injury, but there is always two sides of the story, and coaches can't comment on recruits publicly. I firmly believe the Coulter family tried to spin this situation as well, and I'm pretty sure that's what Swenson is doing now. I saw a comment above about "entitled football player" and Kain's situation reminded me, too, of this. Obviously we won't know the full story, but I feel pretty confident that this is what happened with Kain after being pretty close to the situation, and Swenson's is of the same mold.

P.S. I was rejected from Stanford even though I had a 4.8. GPA isn't the only thing Stanford looks at. But I was going to choose Michigan regardless, so whatever.

EDIT: Link to Spencer Coulter's firing - http://www.dailycamera.com/ci_13139567 It looks to me like the Coulters tried blaming race and how the "standards of conduct" of coaches was unclear. The school district wanted him to attend Anger Management classes, so assume the conduct was not what he was doing...

01/19/2016 - 1:06am Thank you, good sir

01/12/2016 - 11:14pm I WAS BEAT

Damn it...

01/04/2016 - 5:03pm Brady is clutch af

I won't deny that. His preformance in the playoffs cannot be questioned. But Brady is the only consistent thing throught his entire run? There literally has been no one else? Not, like, one of the greatest coaches of all time? No? Okay. (I'll stop being a dick now...)

Brady has had the same head coach throughout his career, a quality defense year in and year out, and essentially same offense. Manning has not. That's why I say his accomplishments are more team focused. Where would he be without Belichick?

I also like to point to the year Brady tore his ACL. The Pats still won 11 games (albeit missing the Playoffs) with Matt Cassell, that tells me it's more of the product of the BB system. That tells me Brady is worth 2 or 3 more wins. When Manning went down, the Colts won 2 games. That tells me Manning is worth 9-10 games. It helps when you have a kick-ass coach.

01/04/2016 - 4:33pm Nowhere near?

Most MVP's all time? An uncountable number of season and career all-time records? Yeah, those mean absolutely nothing because Brady doesn't have them...

Yes playoffs are a big part of accomplishments, but not the only thing. I refuse to put one above the other. I prefer to say Manning is the greatest regular season QB and Brady is the best post-season QB.

And it's easy to distinguish team vs individual accomplishments. Passing yards, TDs, Completion Percentage, pretty much individual. Wins? Mostly Team effort. No one says "Tom Brady is 12-4 this year." Because football is a TEAM effort. Like you said, 11 players aren't on the field half the time. If that's the case, how can one person get credit for a win if they aren't even on the field most of the time...

Also, I find you lack of faith in Peyton Manning disturbing considering you have "MileHigh" in your user name. As someone who lives in Denver, I am conflicted with you O.o

01/04/2016 - 4:19pm Well first of all...

This hate has stemmed WAY before these allegations so don't say it's because of that.

Second of all, I bet you were someone who said the allegations against Brady earlier this year needed more evidence before people said that, "the guy most likely cheated by tampering with game balls." Maybe not, but right after Brady's allegations, the blog collectively said "let's see the evidence first." Double standard is all I'm saying...

01/04/2016 - 2:41pm Why all the Manning hate?

I suppose I'm one of the few people on the blog who is a huge fan of Peyton Manning, but I honestly can't understand the hate. Because he lost the Heisman to Charles? Because he rivals Brady in greatness? There is just this weird fixation with hating him on this blog.

And YES I did say he rivals Brady in greatness. You cannot deny the stats he's put up. Yes Brady has more Super Bowls and Playoff success, but I always thought those accomplishmenst were more of a team effort. Because obviously Trent Dilfer > Dan Marino or Terry Bradshaw > John Elway... Regardless, it's pointless to argure that here...

01/04/2016 - 2:32pm Okay...

But Tom Brady's recovery from the same injury in a similair amount of time isn't suspicious?

01/02/2016 - 2:16pm But who is their Harbaugh?

LIke, Colt McCoy, maybe?

12/31/2015 - 5:18pm Welp...

11/19/2015 - 1:58pm He bases these on NFL potential

11/12/2015 - 12:09pm I'm not asking what people rather prefer

I'm just asking about end of the year scenarios. Of course most of us here would rather not see OSU in the playoff.

11/12/2015 - 11:15am Assuming Michigan won't get into the Playoffs regardless...

Does them winning the B1G championship ultimately doom the conference from having a team represented? Our logic makes the assumption that the Playoff Committee would rank a 2-loss & B1G Champion Michigan over a 1-loss & defending National Champion Ohio State. Do we know this for certain? If so, then the B1G may very well be left out.
