MSU @ ND...who ya got?!
Who do you want to lose more? MSU or ND?
What's your final score?
I'll go:
State - 31
Domers - 28
...a heartbreaking gamewinning FG by MSU to win the game after ND throws an INT trying to get into FG position to win the game. Kelly's head literally explodes.
September 15th, 2011 at 4:53 PM ^
Since 85 people participated, including you, you really can't call this a "redundant thread." Besides, this one is "who ya got" as oppossed to "who ya rooting for;" the two questions are totally different.
ND 35, MSU 17.

I think ND must win this game to salvage any sort of season they could have. The desperation, being at home, and MSU's weak OL and general overrated-ness leads me to pick ND 31 - MSU 27
September 15th, 2011 at 5:28 PM ^
It's a Battle of the Overrateds!
Can I predict the final score to be Meteor 1, ND 0, MSU 0?
September 15th, 2011 at 2:45 PM ^
ND looked very good in our game, and I think they recover after a tough loss last week.
ND - 31 MSU - 21
September 15th, 2011 at 2:47 PM ^
At some point, ND may stop the turnovers and be successful. Is it this week? I really don't like either team, but the thought of watching Kelly's head become hundreds of pieces makes my day the most.
MSU 35, ND 31.
September 15th, 2011 at 2:47 PM ^
ND will eventually run out of bullets to shoot itself in the foot with and start actually winning games. I suspect it starts this week. ND 38 MSU 24.
September 15th, 2011 at 2:49 PM ^
Now that we have beaten ND, my hate level for them has gone down. So I choose ND. They will get to Cousins and the MSU defense will get the "Alabama" treatment it got in their bowl game.
35-24.

I understand. No I don't.
September 15th, 2011 at 4:32 PM ^
Your subject line score and the score in your post don't match. You even pick a different winner.
September 15th, 2011 at 4:44 PM ^
I changed my mind and neglected to change my subject. That was incredibly confusing. Mind over subject, that's the secret.
September 15th, 2011 at 2:51 PM ^
nd-34
Msu-24
notredame realizes they.r a very.good team and don't commit.more than 2 turnovers, and Msu's d Wont know what hit em.
September 15th, 2011 at 3:10 PM ^
What is going on in your comment? Is that a ransom note?
September 15th, 2011 at 3:18 PM ^
Both teams can go fuck themselves, but ill say ND 34-31.
September 15th, 2011 at 2:51 PM ^
I hate ND more but I want Msu to lose. They can't keep choking in the red zone. They just can't.
ND: 37 MSU: 31
September 15th, 2011 at 2:52 PM ^
I think ND is going to take this one.
I'll enjoy either way since one of them will lose.
September 15th, 2011 at 2:52 PM ^
Normally, I'd dismiss this game and hope they both lose. That's not the case this year. I want to see MSU start the Irish off 0-3 mostly because I would like to see MSU and UM undefeated going into week 7.
MSU - 30
ND - 21
September 15th, 2011 at 2:53 PM ^
I'm rooting for ND for Irish's sake (first time ever for a team outside the B1G vs a B1G opponent) ...but I can't take/bet on a team that chokes like that - I just don't think regression to the mean applies when choking is your mode of being.
MSU-42 ND31 Cousins carves up Gray over the shoulder style instead of jump balls.
September 15th, 2011 at 9:22 PM ^
You were rooting for Ohio in its national championship games?
September 16th, 2011 at 1:12 AM ^
B1G ueber alles...
I respect an honest Ohio...and dated a Sparty. Life is complicated.
September 15th, 2011 at 2:54 PM ^
Because I hate them both sooooo much! I'll go with little brother and a couple of touchdowns. I think MSU will exploit the same thing we did. They will throw it down the field on the Irish.
I don't think it will be that close.
MSU 24 to ND 7
September 15th, 2011 at 2:55 PM ^
Cousins' interception prone senior year begins in earnest this game - 4 picks.
ND - 33
MSU - 24
September 15th, 2011 at 2:58 PM ^
I don't think this one will ever be close. I happen to think that Notre Dame is a pretty damn good team. I also think that State is fraudulent.
Irish 34 State 13
September 15th, 2011 at 3:13 PM ^
I agree with this. I think ND just shuts it down and wins easy 35-13.

September 15th, 2011 at 3:01 PM ^
I like ND even with -5 point spread.
September 15th, 2011 at 3:02 PM ^
and wins rather easily... Rees will get a break from the turnovers and realize he has more than Floyd.
Notre Dame 34
MSU 17
September 15th, 2011 at 3:03 PM ^
I'll be rooting for a 0-0 tie that goes to 36 OTs before the games is called after the last 2 water boys are hurt and neither team can field 11 players.
September 15th, 2011 at 3:04 PM ^
I want ND to win so sparty can be ranked higher when we beat them!
ND and MSU play eachother really close tho , personally I think ND wins because MSU will come in assuming they will win. Notre Dame is not as bad as their record, we'll see tho starting 0-3 with all the bad press Kelly is starting to get ... I'm wondering if folks will start calling for his job.

I want MSU to win but I think ND will fix their turnover problems and win a lower scoring game

Kelly gives a speech reminiscent of Pacino in Any Given Sunday and the Irish dominate the game.
ND-35 MSU-17.
September 15th, 2011 at 3:07 PM ^
badass post lol.
September 15th, 2011 at 3:05 PM ^
ND is my least favorite team (I was at M in the early Holtz years) but Sparty rage is running feverishly high in my department here at work. We need to calm the waters so I guess I want ND to win only because we beat them and they are already 0-2. Would really like a blow-out as well - maybe like the MSU-Iowa game last year.
However, I will predict ND 31, MSU 23.
September 15th, 2011 at 3:05 PM ^
Don't forget we are still in competition with ND for all-time CFB winning percentage. They are just a few thousandths of a point behind us.
Looking at their schedule, they could easily finish the season with more wins than us, despite starting 0-2. We need ND to lose to everyone they play. We can take care of Sparty ourselves.
September 15th, 2011 at 3:51 PM ^
This is my thinking exactly. Every ND loss puts more distance between us in the all time win percentage race. Sadly I suspect ND will win, but I'd prefer that they don't.

Irish pull ahead late 35 to 24
September 15th, 2011 at 3:09 PM ^
MSU 35
ND 31
ND scores late to make it close, but MSU holds on.

I want ND so we can see msu fans' heads explode for a change
September 15th, 2011 at 3:14 PM ^
MSU is the more complete team and takes care of its business.
Sparty 42, ND 28
The conference will really look weak if MSU loses, so for the sake of the B1G's reputation, I'll have to grit my teeth and root for them.
September 15th, 2011 at 3:17 PM ^
That would guarantee that the losing coach's head would actually explode. It would almost set the stage for some sort of macabre rivalry trophy game. Winning team's trophy is the intact head of their coach.
September 15th, 2011 at 3:18 PM ^
ND is not going to be able to stop MSU's offense from moving the ball and scoring. ND will come out early with 8 men in the box and MSU will respond by passing early and often and will go directly after #4 in ND's secondary. After watching Cousins pick ND's secondary apart for most of the first half, ND will have to retreat into more zone and nickel coverage, at which point MSU will run the ball down their throats. ND's only chance is to outscore MSU in a shootout, which means Rees (and maybe Crist) will end up throwing multiple interceptions. Bottom line: MSU, which has the better offense and defense and is an all around better football team, will win this one by double digits and the score will be closer than the game.
