Last year, I believe the TeamTix were only available for the NC game. It ended up a terrible deal to buy them. Face value in the upper sections was $350 per ticket, but actual prices quickly dropped in secondary markets to under $200 many days before the game. The lower secions were similar, as you could easily find tickets under face value. TeamTix buyers had to pay Alabama's option price of approximately $135 per ticket ($485 total) for the upper section or Clemson's $250 ($600 total) option price for the upper section.

That was for the teams who made the game obviously. Other team options were purchased for teams that never made it.

Youtube can remind you why you disliked him. He was always playing the villain and acting like a douche.

Ivey just played a 250k buy in tournament in Australia a few hours ago so he is unlikely to make it.

Do want. Very impressive highlights. He is definetely flying around the field with great instincts.

Interesting article about Max here: https://bleedbluerecruiting.wordpress.com/2014/05/16/getting-to-know-20…

The article says his dad played at M from 1974-77. No idea how legitimiate that website is, but it sems like Harbaugh could flip a legacy recruit if he really wants him.

He can probably throw left handed so we can still slot him in for 3rd string QB.

I am of the snitches get stitches mentality also. The important point of this thread is your gift of the verb "Kiffining" to all mgoblog readership. Thank you for your service.

Re: Holding Information

The holding information comment brings to mind Brian's recent post on media access. The recruiting sites run a business model almost completely dependent on access to coaching staff/program. Just in the hypothetical scenario where the rumor is true, and Harbaugh made a cover story at bust for strategic reasons, then the recruiting sites would be wise to hold the information until given the go ahead by Harbaugh.

Information getting out ---> better Florida gameplan ----> Florida chance of winning increasing ----> pissed Harbaugh ----> less trust/access.

Linebackers, running backs,

Linebackers, running backs, Taysom Hills, and we will probably lose a certain WAY TOO SMALL FOR THE NFL UNTIL NEXT YEAR WHEN HE WONT BE TOO SMALL cornerback so an experienced player at that position may help also.

In a poker context, things

In a poker context, things similar to "OT is 50-5" are used as estimates to make calculations easier. It make sense to me that one team will have some small edge over the other, and literally almost nobody is going to be >60% to win before first snap, with the vast majority of teams being within a percentage or 2. Thus, in the interest of simplification, you could just call OT a 50-50 proposition when making strategic decisions in regulation as it will be close enough for that purpose. Just a thought.

Pretty unlikely they play MSU

Pretty unlikely they play MSU in the tournament. The selection committee either has to or attempts to avoid matching teams that previously played each other, at lest in the first couple rounds.

Here are a numer of "what is

Here are a numer of "what is in this for him" ideas. I don't know which, if any, of these are true as I neither am in the coaching business nor know anything about the Bush family:

- More money

- Less pressure/stress

- Maybe wants to work in a power college fotball program, and working in this capacity is a better stepping stone than maybe better titles at lesser programs

- Ability to spend quality time with son

- Better working hours

- Desire to pursue alternate career path as maybe he is unsatisfied as a high school coach

- Maybe he was going to retire from coaching when his son graduated anyway, so this lets him stay around football in a lesser capacity

- Maybe he is a hyper-competitive dad who lives for his son to win things, and knows he can directly impact that if he helps recruit.

- Maybe they have some family member that would greatly benefit from the UM hospital being elite

- Maybe they have other children that are involved with the wrong people in Florida

- Maybe he thinks Harbaugh will go the NFL at some point, and he thinks this is his best chance at getting pulled along for that

- Maybe he has never missed one of his son's games and doesn't want to start doing that now

Lets go everyone who pkays

Lets go everyone who pkays Georgia and Florida for the rest of the year then

For all the reasons cited

For all the reasons cited above, Brian is a true exception to his own "[p]eople are just in charge of things because they are in charge of them" theory.

You auto pass tryouts

You auto pass tryouts

Good point. They are

Good point. They are definetely working in probabilities and the probabilities seem high from the outside. Usual caveats obviously apply that there might already be less than 8 internally and amongst those 8, the coaches might not belive some number of them will figure it out. Rudock beating out all Qbs eligible to play this year is not ideal for them when we have evidence that 5th year transfers are not promised starting/contributing roles (Lyons). Some are younger so it may not be an indictment on their probabilities of success as much.

Basically if Taysom Hill or whoever shows up in 6 months it's possible that player is filling the biggest need.

You take him because even if

You take him because even if there is a 1% chance he is a NFL QB, now there is an additional 1% chance your roster contains a NFL QB. This additional 1% comes with no additional risk. It's a freeroll.

While you guys are not wrong,

While you guys are not wrong, it is worth pointing out that unless one of the current scholarships is used on a QB who is solid, then for practical purposes, we have 0 QBs on the roster instead of 8. Thus, QB would be a bigger need then the other spots we have needs, as QB is the most important position. Not saying there is not at least 1 on the roster, but if hypothetical QB commit who would be scholarship #9 would also be the best QB, then it makes sense to take hypothetical QB as that fills a bigger need.

Also, QBs transfer so much in the NCAA that if someone like Peters shows up and is the man, we probably would have less than 8 QBs shortly thereafter.

While generally true "famous"

While generally true "famous" people aka public figures get less protection, I doubt the Michigan law would consider Peppers famous enough. Not a Michigan lawyer, but even if the law did consider him famous, the extra protection is basically he would have to prove she intended actual malice instead of negligence with the defamatory letter. This letter would likely qualify under both actual malice and negligence.

In addition, just having

In addition, just having normal college women there would seem better for recruiting purposes. Normal college women would convey that this type of thing happens all the time if you come to Lousiville, as opposed to the one-off special occasion environment created with hookers.

The last part of this, that

The last part of this, that it would've been unnecessary to hire hookers, is an interesting part of the Louisville story to me.  I can't wrap my head around why paying would be necessary at Louisville as seemingly they coud get an endless list of women who would do everything referenced at the parties for free or at most in exchange for free booze/coke/weed. Only reasons I can think of at the moment are:

1) Lousiville really wanted it to be a secret (no campus gossip, paying pros instead of college women)

2) Lousiville boosters are dumb or unaware of how easy this would be to do without paying hookers

3) The stories are lies and/or embelishments

Similarly you could do

Similarly you could do fumbles returned for TDs by WRs, TEs, and RBs or even throw QBs in this one too.

Always wanted to have a QB

Always wanted to have a QB bankruptcy rule where if the QB ever throws a pick 6 his points drop to 0 for that week. If it was at the end of the 1st half then the QB would still have the 2nd half to accumulate points, but if it was in the 4th quarter it could crush someone's soul. It would not come up very often, but when it did it definetly could swing a game which should at least keep people interested until certain QBs are done for the day.

Your friend had a good suggestion. I would add that the site you reference is getting more popular as it has very soft poker tables so it may draw the attention of those that seize (i.e, steal) player funds in the future.

I am also no criminal law expert, but if girlfriend's testimony was a big part of the case, and now girlfriend changes her story, the prosecution will have to argue that she was telling the truth right after the incident but is lying now. It would definitely make it harder to prove the case, which could allow her to effectively  "drop" the case.

This thread is not pointless at all. Hopefully this thread alerts the coaches to this issue. Both you and your friend have some life lessons to learn.

Punishing your friend makes for a good teaching point for years to come on protecting confidential information. It also teaches a lesson on carefully selecting who you can actually trust.
