Thanks for the correction. Read the wrong box score column. Where's the booze?

Michigan was +4 in TO margin those first four games in 2008. Notre Dame turned it over 6!!! times and still won handily. Michigan's highest offensive output during that stretch was a cool 281 yards against Miami (OH). ND, Utah, and WIsconsin each outgained Michigan by at least 115 yards. Utah also received 15 penalities against UM that game and still won. Wisconsin coughed it up 4 times (two fumbles, two INTS-- including the big one by Johnny Thompson) and UM's passing attack's stat line was a cool 10-21-96 with 2 INTs
I can't believe we have to have this discussion but 2014 UM > >> 2008 UM. So hooray for that.

My first up-vote. Tee-hee!

A little more edge would help avoid so many third and longs and turnovers. Throw in a dash of toughness and a headset and that B1G is ours!
|2 days 13 hours ago||Akron||
Even so, that Akron game was a far worse performance than anything we've seen this year.
|2 days 13 hours ago||KState||
Morris wasn't terrible against KState in his lone start. Even if his ceiling this year is as a bona fide game manager it would be an upgrade at this point.
Garbage time evaluations, especially yesterday are unfair to him.

We should have felt worse last year going into conference play. The team was worse and yet 4-0.

I think Michigan beats Minnesota and Penn State. Takes one last beating in East Lansing and heads to Columbus @ 8-3. The offense is not that far off. The defense is there. Just gotta get the ball rolling down hill. Go Blue!

I thought the defense was pretty darn good against a portent offense especially with Wilson out.

Michigan chewed all of their bubblegum against Notre Dame. There's only one thing left to do.

New guy will probably wear a headset and his middle name will be Toughness.

God I can't wait to see Maryland and Indiana. Could the most, best, and worst Big Ten game of the year be one in the same?

Charcoal and the "Big Green Egg" type grills have been making a comeback it seems but I grill so often it's just not practical to me as a total replacement for a gas grill-- thinking of weeknight meals here.
The solution? Get one of each I guess.

You can buy smoker boxes for woodchips intended for gas grills. Then you just turn off one side of the grill for the indirect heat. Purists will probably object but you can get some very nice results with just a regular old gas grill.

That was a fun formation but I found it even more encouraging that a lead blocker was hardly needed on the play.

Looked like a different back in the second half.

We had WINS last year that were worse than this year's ND loss. Progress people!

|1 week 6 days ago||2010 Michigan State||
I often find myself comparing Hoke's tenure at UM with Dantonio's at MSU (whether or not that's healthy for one's health is a another matter). Dantonio's first three years at MSU weren't stellar but there were signs of real potential buoyed by the beginning of his success against UM during the RR years. The 2010 season is the year that Dantonio's teams turned the corner and went 11-2. That was the year MSU didn't play outside of the state of Michigan until October 23rd @ NW (which is fairly crazy really). They went undefeated at home that year. They had an iffy neutral site game at Ford Field against FAU early and a close W over NW during the first road game. Their first true road test was at Kinnick against an Iowa team that would finish 8-5. Iowa shellacked MSU 37-6 with MSU's points coming after being down 37-0.
You might be saying, well great, so now we aspire to be MSU. Well, yea, but our helmets got wings! Which is to say, Michigan has a higher ceiling as a program than MSU. Dantonio for all his success still has 3 six loss seasons during his first 7 seasons. While Michigan, even going through it's lowest stretch in the modern era still has a friggin BCS game win during that time. There's a still a corner to be turned as dnak's charts offer some hope for. It may not always be pretty this year but thankfully the B1G is a league full of ugly.
This concludes my tangential rant/fandom-affirmation. Go Blue!

The guy has all the physical tools obviously but it seems that if the first option isn't there it almost always ends in ruin or, at best, a lost play.
The offense goes against lesser teams due to sheer talent overall but boy is the contrast stark when facing tougher teams.
I know flimsy explanations for things tend to focus on the intangible but there's an "it" successful QBs have and sadly DG lacks it despite his toughness, his commitment to staying and his qualities as all around great dude.

You can say that again.

I think you missed most of the data in the 2011 column, particulary on the OL.

Clearly this is a next-level traffic management effort offering a wider window of time for crowds to disperse. Those declining an extra helping of WOW can still watch the entire game and leave ahead of the rest.

For some reason I suspected gizoogling recipes would provide for an especially funny read. I was not disappointed.

Could this be a hint at a shift to a 3-4? Is that even possible with the available personnel?
