I mean, UW calls him, right?…

I mean, UW calls him, right? Guy could have joined the B1G without leaving the West Coast and for a better program. Damn. Hope his family loves East Lansing.

I'm about the same age as…

I'm about the same age as BronxBlue and as the confetti fell, I thought how foolish I was to not fully appreciate 97 more at the time. My middle schoolers' brains broke a little when I reminded them that I would be "Grandpa's age" if the same amount of time passes before the next one. So fortunate to witness Team 144!

Late in the game Washington…

Late in the game Washington's RT was starting early on almost every snap. I think he was flagged maybe twice but he was set up as far from the LOS as a lineman could without being called a back. Seemed like they could have flagged him 5 times.

It reminded me of the Chiefs guy against Hutchinson in Week 1.

Anyone else considering…

Anyone else considering syncing the SkyCam 4k broadcast with the local audio? ESPN 4k looks incredible but I don't think they have any commentary.

I'll allow it.

I'll allow it.

It will be interesting. This…

It will be interesting. This will be first time all year where the Michigan offense faces a mediocre P5 defense in a game they actually give a shit about. Elite defenses has kept them in the 24-30 range, though M played differently on offense against both Iowa and PSU because of the opposing offense's relative struggles. Here there's nothing to save, not worried about reps for second teamers, not worried about putting anything on film, it's all there for Washington.

I don't see how Michigan doesn't get into the mid-30s which would leave Washington having to do outperform their best output against lesser defenses. Which...good luck.

That's some Grade A BPONE.

That's some Grade A BPONE.

Hate that it feels right.

I'd bet there's a strong…

I'd bet there's a strong correlation between handedness and which way they curl/dive/plow etc. Surely something they could scout... provided Iowa ever got into very short yardage 3rd/4th downs.

3 hours and 20 minutes? Dan Carlin-ass podcast episode. Love it!

Holy shit. Is this actually…

Holy shit. Is this actually real? A quick YouTube search found multiple hits from Penn State Sports Performance and sure enough, they're using Catapult products.

I know this wasn't your…

I know this wasn't your intent but it had me thinking of Eugene Levy as the car salesman in National Lampoon's Vacation selling the family truckster to Clark, "You think you hate it now? Wait til you drive it."

Would need the All-22.

Would need the All-22.

We keep hearing how the NCAA…

We keep hearing how the NCAA's case is expedited. Perhaps it's close to a conclusion and they're willing to accept time served from Harbaugh if M drops the legal fight with B1G. It's truly best for business if this stuff is all wrapped up before bowl/postseason.

I assume this will be top of…

I assume this will be top of the board soon but apparently Balas is freaking out on the premium sites possibly related to Clinkscale  deactivating his Twitter account.

The fact that the…

The fact that the notoriously slow to respond UofM got a FOIA turned around so quickly is pretty much like them actively leaking this to the press.

Thanks. Was at the pump and didn't want to risk the ire of those behind me in line at Costco.

Thank you for embedding.

Of the five bullets included…

Of the five bullets included 4.5 of them are utterly immaterial and really begs the question, does Pettiti understand that decoding signs is 100% legal and an accepted part of the game? There is zero line drawn anywhere connecting the in-person scouting prohibition being in place to prevent decoding signs. This reeks of a small man in a big suit ruling on vibes of rival, competing programs (lol, jk on the competing part for 11/14ths of the B1G).

At some point, does Michigan…

At some point, does Michigan just make the call to go with head coach Hart or whoever for the game. The constant wondering has to be a distraction.

Wouldn't it go to the…

Wouldn't it go to the magistrate on duty? A couple of Spartans in that group.

A part of Michigan's defense…

A part of Michigan's defense is that there's no due process, this has played out in the media and with rival coaches, etc. IF the Lesson thing is true, it's harder to sell you're being unfairly targeted if you just lob a nuke out there like this.

To be completely fair, we…

To be completely fair, we don't know if the HCs knew, do we?

Feels extremely unlikely that he's some super skilled operator behind the scenes when his public facing statements and actions are either non-existent or inconsequential.

Watched it again, I think…

Arrrg! Double. Deleted

Watched it again, I think…

Watched it again, I think you're right. Still close. Those poor spots really make me crazy and I don't give a sh!t about either team.

Wow. B1G refs have a string…

Wow. B1G refs have a string of terrible calls. Nebraska down three, catches a pass at their 37.5 yard line, 1st down marker at about 37. Clear first down. MSU tackles immediately. Ball spotted at 36, no first down, clock continues to run.

A few snaps later, ball batted out of QBs hand during the throw, ball hits the ground, and clock still runs. MSU wins.

WTF did I just watch?

I'm only watching actual…

I'm only watching actual gameplay today. No can do on the pregame shows. At 730 tonight, Michigan will meticulously destroy another team by 50, brief joy will be had, then my fandom will rest in an uneasy dread and annoyance for another week. This is all very stupid and I'm stupid for caring this much.

I love college football.

Isn't Rittenberg the Big Ten…

Isn't Rittenberg the Big Ten guy for ESPN...where Thamel works?

Has he once included a…

Has he once included a comment from Michigan? Even a "Michigan declined comment pursuant to NCAA rules" ?

Occam's Razor: why not buy a ticket in the first 10 rows and do your dastardly deeds from a slightly better vantage point? Why risk the Scooby Doo villain routine?

Didn't Michigan just revamp…

Didn't Michigan just revamp some portion of their compliance team? Regardless, I think the compliance team's effectiveness is a separate matter from Personnel's ability (or license) to vet whatever weirdo Harbaugh wants to hire.

On the new rules regarding a Head Coach's responsibilities, as someone who has spent time in a government agency,  I can tell you what this looks like in a semi-functional administrative environment. HR, IT, Procurement, whoever has very Important Rules that all employees must abide by write up communications to staff, complete with a link to a too-boring training video, requiring staff to review, maybe test, and sign by X date that they've met the requirements. This is then sent out by the executive once or twice a year because it's Serious Business. Maybe the NCAA's standard is way beyond that but much more than that would be insane. Which...ah crap.

It sure does seem like…

It sure does seem like business as usual for JH and the social media team which would seem at odds with the Worst. Thing. Ever.

That last report was vague…

That last report was vague enough that it could be conflating Stalion's time as an intern with his full time role.

First, not a chance in hell…

First, not a chance in hell a service would be that well defined by the NCAA. Second, if it's now permissable to contract with some kind of subscription video service how would some dude with an iPhone be more advantageous?

Right? Remember when the…

Right? Remember when the NCAA came out to clear up their leaks about the burger stuff? No such clarification this time.

That makes no sense.

That makes no sense.

"a drives maintained and…

"a drive maintained and access by multiple Michigan coaches." So they got a copy of a shared drive? What the fuck are we talking about here? I can save horriblethingsaboutmyboss.docx in some random subfolder on our teams drive but it doesn't, on its own anyway, implicate anyone but the author.

Notably, we're not (yet at least) hearing about any evidence about communications with coaches or others higher up in football program.

So is this "Big Ten" source…

So is this "Big Ten" source just reacting to the original allegations with the Astros and Patriots comment or is ESPN implying that the source knows all the details. This is all infuriating on so many levels.

Leelanau Peninsula is…

Leelanau Peninsula is terrible. Stay out of our beach side community filled with beautiful lakes, sand dunes, wineries, breweries, bike trails, historic villages, and more. It's bad. Don't go there.

Inaugural Bahamas Bowl was…

Inaugural Bahamas Bowl was one of the most memorable games ever for me that didn't involve Michigan. What a wild comeback by CMU that came up just short. Whole family was late for Christmas Eve church waiting for me-- who knew wrapping presents could be so exciting or take that long...

Is Craig Ross being attacked here?

So this goes to plan and it…

So this goes to plan and it's something like 38-3 in the middle third quarter do they skip McCarthy and jump down to QB3?

I've always wondered just…

I've always wondered just how much preparation on a week-to-week basis is opponent dependent. Fans will say a team 'looked past' a lesser opponent ahead of a rivalry but I'd love to know what that really looks like inside a program.  Even top programs are going to have a limited number of analysts-- will they entirely ignore a MACcake and instead prep for Penn State the next week?  Or how much effort is spent sort of war gaming how a particular opponent would attack your team given their personnel. Like, if you're Georgia and you have basically every tool at your disposal are they 100% on Michigan until 12/31 or is it 60/40 as you figure you're likely playing Bama again? And would that difference matter?

For those new to college…

For those new to college football in 2021, Georgia dominated their entire schedule up to losing to Bama by 17.

The point is that the scores…

The point is that the scores are irrelevant. They were the surest of sure #1 team because of their dominance all year. I'm suggesting that they were so dominant because the basically played Maryland every week.
