Leaders And Best

The twitter fingers have already started.

Michigan State Football's official twitter account posted the news with the Block M upside down. I get that they have won the last two, but you might want to be careful when you are 3-4 and one of the most disappointing teams in the country relative to preseason expectations.

It may be wishful thinking - but, wouldn't it be nice if Meyer, and several other commentators suggested that Michigan is an underdog - with MSU's style being an immense challenge to Michigan's scheme - with Tucker and the staff having all facets of their program where they want it to be and a DL / secondary set to shut Michigan down.

I’m gonna just assume that UM Health is in this graphic given that many MSU fans will be seeing them with burns lighting couches ablaze after the game…

Still too early for any kind of reasonable weather forecast for that day but earlier in the week high temps in the 60s and barometric pressure to increase a little at that time too.  So, maybe we'll have decent weather...

Not expecting the game to be close so should be able to leave early in the fourth quarter!  Go blue!

This game is always close, particularly in the first half.  State has a bye week and is feeling good off a home win.  Thorne and Reed found a groove together too.  I fully expect Michigan to win but anybody expecting a stomping is probably going to be disappointed, IMO.

Games start tied at 0-0, so that's cause for heartburn. And dominance is something that you establish over the course of a game. I'm not being funny, but trying to point out that there's a pretty good chance when you're the better team that the first half is more stressful, score-wise, than the second. Both the mathematics--the predicted graphic arc--and the metaphysics of first halves want more scrutiny, and might help fans, including fans here, chill the f out a little more in the early going. (Maybe someone will pick up this idea and run with it.) How many times have you seen a fan utter a heartfelt, "We're gonna get killed!" two minutes into a game. Depending on your mood, you either agree completely or think they're nuts.

Yeah I was a little disappointed they pulled off a win vs Wisconsin. That allowed them to get off the mat a little and a not-fully-dead-Spartan team is always trouble for Michigan.

I hope Harbaugh doesn't say to himself 'Oooh, 400 yards rushing against Penn State, let's do that again!' and insist on running it when they don't need to. This State team is horrible against the pass and Michigan better exploit that. I want to see McCarthy airing it out and I want Johnson, Bell, Anthony and Wilson to all have big games.

Michigan has the ability to bury these guys in the first half, just like Ohio State did. I just hope they don't get in their own way. If they do that gives State a chance.

Agreed. Rivalry juju aside, MSU is always an uncomfortable matchup for U-M because running the ball usually = burning a down. U-M prefers for its QB to be a complementary player, not the driving force of the offense, and MSU doesn’t let them play that way.
