Relationships between former OSU staffers and Catapult Sports practice film archives

Submitted by Communist Football on November 21st, 2023 at 8:38 PM

Catapult Sports is a software company used by many college football teams to analyze practice video and game tape. It turns out that Joe Stanek, OSU's former Director of Football Video (2017-2020), and another former OSU assistant football video coordinator (2016-2020) now work at Catapult.

This could be a total random coincidence. But there are unsubstantiated allegations that OSU acquired Penn State's practice film from Catapult prior to their 2022 game. Does anyone in the Vast Network have information that could substantiate these claims?

The question is, who is behind that account?  He (or she) has been dropping some gems this week and if any of them are legit, it could lead to an NCAA scandal like we’ve never seen before.  Most of the focus has been on Ryan Day but there are accusations of several other non-B1G programs too.  Get out the popcorn!

Pretty tinfoil, I know, but: What if the reason for getting fired was to intentionally get him outside the program to be able to drop all the dirt but have no association anymore with M? Wouldn’t be that hard to orchestrate and create an “anonymous” outside source to leak to for dropping bombs left and right.

From what I understand, whoever runs the account is someone whose identity is known (but not publicly) and plausibly would know this information. However I have yet to see anyone vouch for the veracity of any of the posts themselves. Either this is good info that is being teased, or just rumors that are being spread without basis. I suspect a mix of the two.

"Tonnor Scalions" was a pretty dumb name to choose if he wants to be taken seriously.

If there is any legitimacy at all behind this account, I hope they were smart enough to find and preserve the evidence/proof before they started tweet-blasting all of these allegations. If there is any connection between Ohio State and Catapault, you can be sure they are destroying the evidence as we speak.

The name on the X account and his tactics undermine any credibility he gets from Hole and others. The guy running this comes across as an idiot.  As a start, you don’t drop completely different unrelated stories every day. You have to create one simple narrative and slowly add to it. You don’t make everyone an enemy.  You don’t pick a stupid name and write “we are coming after you”.  It sounds like a HS kid.  If this is real, it’s not helping, it’s actually hurting.  Journalists will roll their eyes at this even if it is true.

Some of the stories are credible but the only thing they have with this Catapult story is that a couple of Ohio guys work there. That is no better than a random chance.  It’s not worth releasing without something more substantive.

I would hope Michigan has hired a professional PR firm by now that knows what the heck they are doing.  I doubt Michigan will want to do anything this week because it would distract from the actual game.  I could be wrong on that last point.

Safe to say that OSU would stop at nothing to win a championship. They went full SEC when they hired Urban. I'l bet he already has the first two series scripted for Saturday's game.

They may have usurped the SEC when they hired private investigators.

Saturday is prison day and OSU is bunch of fucking rats.

Visiting fans are no longer welcome.

Michigan Stadium is going to blow its top.

My dog who doesn’t bark or even make a sound growled at Kirk Herbstreit today on TV. It was weird.

ohio was fully SEC when woody was there.  they used to tape money to the underside of pete johnson's seat in the locker room.  tressel was just as bad.  meyer is the definition of an amoral snake.  day, probably a slightly 'cleaner' guy in that respect, maybe a bit like our steve fisher who was a aware but not fully aware of the shenanigans going on around him and surprised at how well he recruits...

There's just something about these anonymous sources that seems so much more trustworthy than anyone Dellenger and Thamel have been getting information from the past month. Can't quite put my finger on it.
